This can apply to even AMD mini PCs my Timespy score reduced by about 300pts on both iGPU and 500pts on my eGPU G1 . Also using it's memory optimizer from AMD overwrote my iGPU memory allocation I set in the bios.

Yeah it should work well on mini pcs too. Running the tweaks reduced your score in synthetic benchmarks? Hmm 🤔

@@KeiRetroGaming no that happened after the Windows auto updated the eGPU drivers I was wondering if it was the AMD drivers so I will be following your great video to fix my mini pc and remove what Windows did even after applying the latest AMD drivers from the Adranaline software my score stayed lower. I used to see Windows doing this to iGPU Intel but never thought it could happen with AMD. I will certainly block windows updating my drivers.

One thing I noticed is in the c drive I didn't have that folder on top of that i think you should reinstall the AMD software then do the drivers. That's what I'll be doing now because it's still ignoring my bios allocation I set for the integrated graphics after I previously used memory optimisation that amd provides in the software. Steel nomad score went up from 1971 every time it was that to almost 2000 I was wondering why my score went down since 😅October 😅 timespy increased by 200 points as well. it still kept my previous amd software preferences though so i don't know how to remove those.

All this every time I need to update drivers? As much as I don’t want to, I’ll stick with a 4070. Too bad, benchmarks for fsr frame gen have been looking real good.

It is unfortunately a bit of a hassle yeah. Thankfully if you find a solid driver you don't really need to upgrade for a good while. You have an external RTX 4070? Nice!

I think eGPUS as a whole are pretty expensive. It's a nice piece of hardware if you already own a handheld or mini PC that supports it and don't want a desktop. Knowing eGPUs carry more of a premium, to me anyways id be happy spending $400-700 cad for something like this if I didn't own a desktop or needed more space.

My coupon helps a bit, but yeah prebuilt eGPUs are unfortunately very expensive. As a fellow Canadian, I know the feeling of looking at GPU prices.
