nice! I am a yoga teacher who has managed my own scoliosis using what I learned after reading books on the Schroth Method (part of my research into yoga for scoliosis for my MS in Yoga Therapy degree). I incorporate mindfulness and the breath into my practice and teaching, using a cue to "breath into" the areas where one knows it's needed (like the concave areas, or places that feel "stuck"). One thing I do with "cat cow" is have students notice what happens when they shift their breath from "inhale round exhale arch" (which can tend to overemphasize the natural lumbar and thoracic curves) to "inhale arch exhale round" (which tends to LIMIT those natural curves and "open" the opposite sides). I love learning about other ways of adapting exercises that are related to yoga asanas so I can incorporate them into my classes...
@KarenMatas8 күн бұрын
how to become a yoga teacher?
@EdPaget7 күн бұрын
I'm glad you liked it. I like to vary the breathing on all movements, as I think it is more like real life, we don't always breath out when we move or exert ourselves, so training our bodies to be be adaptable to have both options is key.
@theWellSeasonedWoman7 күн бұрын
@@KarenMatas first, find a good teacher to learn the practice and then practice daily until you understand how it works for you. that good teacher can then refer you if necessary to a good training program or teacher who can teach you the next steps on your journey. this is the traditional way and the one I've followed for over 40 years. teaching first requires practice which leads to understanding.
