He also used the 44 Automag made by Desert Eagle at that time I believe and I don't know if he used any other gun unless it was the .357 magnum of one of his crooked law buddies !!! I have the 629-3 Classic DX model with its 8 3/8 in barrel with the full underlug shroud attached to the barrel or all one piece !!! And boy what a shooter it is and the extra weight makes it so steady to handle and perhaps more accurate !!!

The little kid in The Wild Geese, Paul Spurrier, went on to become a movie producer and now lives in Bangkok. He was the first English producer of a Thai movie. He runs movies nights and is a bit of a celebrity here. Some might find that interesting.

John Wick 1 is the best. The others are just bad, with 4 being terrible. 4 is the only action movie I have ever watched where I actually got tired of the action. I still enjoy them even though they are bad. The Pit Viper is the best looking gun in the series.

Your comment seems to be the consensus amongst viewers. We all enjoy the sequels but are not invested in them like we are with the original.

Before The Wild Geese was The Killer Elite, although the 'Uzi' used was a Mac 10 with a dummy front attached.

At first thought this is a big mistake, but I remember someone saying in the book/script/making of the movie, the idea was a semi auto gun, but the Terminator modified it later in the Apartment he was staying in. Of course, how the T-800 ended up in that Apartment is another scene that probably should have had a backstory too.... Oh well, another rabbit hole....
@keithmoore530610 сағат бұрын
this being a British movie i'm surprised they didn't go with the Sterling submachine gun! that is a highly underrated gun and one that deserves a shit ton more recognition! granted someone needs to teach the special effects people the difference between a hand grenade and 81mm mortar round blast but i don't know Winnie being a questionable scene i know a 24th special ops squadron medic who can handle small arms better than a green beanie weapons specialist!! the one gun i will never understand is the FAL how FN did so good on that one is a mystery to me all the one's i've handled have been awkward to be kind! the HK G3 is far superior to the FAL! by the way on the stock description part you did there there are side folding stocks on AK's it's the 300 and 400 series AK's and are a magnitude better folder than the under folders both in comfort and use-ability!! i used to get soldier of fortune all the time even hit a couple conventions!! there's a couple Dolf Lundgren movies that might be worth a look i come in peace (that full auto Calico intrigues me to no end!!) silent trigger (an old school 50 cal sniper!) and men of war (a nice selection of guns in that one!!)
@hollywoodguns4 сағат бұрын
Thanks Keith - Very True on the Sterling. Jock was carrying one still in the movie, but I guess they went with the Uzi for newer shiny reasons. You're totally right about the AK side folders - I forgot that when recording the video. The FAL v G3 debate will never be resolved. I love them both. I've added the Dolf movies to my list. Thanks for the suggestions.
@Jesses00110 сағат бұрын
The display barrel is a really great idea. You get the iconic Uzi look without having to pay $200 and filling out annoying paperwork. A tip for the full auto; if you want to increase the fire rate, cut a classic rubber eraser in half and slide it behind the buffer pad of the recoil spring. This will reduce the over-travel of the bolt, increasing fire rate. You can do up too two erasers. Three erasers and you run the risk of not picking up a round from the magazine. It has been over 30 years since I saw The Wild Geese. I do not remember it well. I should find and re-watch it sometime. I did notice when he ran out of ammo the bolt was still locked to the rear.
@hollywoodguns3 сағат бұрын
Thanks for this comment Jesse. Interesting tip for lucky folks who have full auto Uzi's, although in my very limited experience shooting full auto guns at range days, I have to say that I preferred the slower cyclic rates guns as they were much easier to keep on target.

What always surprises me about the Uzi is the weight. At 9 lbs without ammo it’s crazy heavy for the size.
@hollywoodguns3 сағат бұрын
For semi Auto only its too heavy, but when I've shot full auto Uzi's, that weight becomes clear - It dramatically tames felt recoil keeping the gun on target.
@sgtjarhead9914 сағат бұрын
I had the privilege of shooting and training with a full auto Uzi back in the late 80s. I was serving MSG duty while in the Marines and the Uzi was an US State Dept issue SMG. I have to be honest, I wasn’t crazy about it. Felt really blocky and the straight, 90 degrees grip angle just felt odd. Worst of all, my particular gun was not very reliable. Had a few stoppages which required immediate action to clear. It’s very possible the ammo was crap, but I couldn’t confirm.

You never really see an uzi in movies anymore, honestly. I feel like they need to make a comeback. Same with revolvers

I remember i saw the film for the first time late in the evening when I came from a party. My father came over and we saw it together (he saw it in the cinema when it came out). In Germany it is called "Die Wildgänse kommen". In the Bundeswehr he was trained at the UZI. Later he became a police officer in Cold War Germany, he was trained on the FAL and the MP5. Maybe there are also videos about these rifles, great work again!
