The fact that you know Kurt Russell as "the guy from Guardians of the Galaxy", just proves you really need this reaction channel lol. Some of his big movies you need to see are 'The Thing (1982)' - 'Big Trouble in Little China' - 'Escape from New York'.

I had forgotten how connected this was to the other half of the bill, Planet Terror. (Which I liked more than this) Ohh, what happens to Tarantino in that movie is...memorable. But you're not watching the movies in order, so nevermind

I saw Grindhouse twice in theaters, the second time almost entirely for the fake trailers. Of the 5, 3 have been made into full movies - Machete, Eli Roth's Thanksgiving, and Hobo With A Shotgun. Still hoping we get "Werewolf Women of the SS" someday from Rob Zombie and Edgar Wright's "Don't", but they probably won't happen 😅

On your Tarantino journey, also be sure to watch Four Rooms (Tarantino directs a segment), True Romance, Natural Born Killers, and From Dusk Till Dawn (all 3 written by Tarantino but not directed)

I am dead serious. Watch True Romance, its AWESOME. I def. think of it as one of Quentin Tarantino's movies, even though its not directed by him but by Tony Scott. Tarantino wrote it. My favorite movie.

This movie and Planet Terror are "grindhouse" flicks, which is a weird thing to think about now, but they used to make for lack of a better word "intentional b-rated" over the top movies like this in the 70's. It was Tarrantino and Robert Rodriquez's love letter to an old genre and when you look at it from that perspective alone it makes more enjoyable in my opinion.

re. the guidance counselor -- classic correlation does not equal causation. if multiple people get more sick after seeing a doctor, it doesn't mean the doctor caused them to get sick; it probably means they were already starting to feel sick, so they went to see a doctor.

Personally, I don’t count Death Proof as one of QT’s 10 films. At the time of the release it always seemed more like a side project. Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez had worked together in the past and they wanted to collaborate to give moviegoers a throwback experience to cinema. They came up with the idea of making a double feature event called Grindhouse with QT giving his interpretation of a low-budget, exploitation type film as an homage with Rodriguez doing the same. Grindhouse was awesome! There were throwback movie theater concession ads as well as trailers for fake movies, some of which became so popular that they became actual movies. I mainly don’t count this as one of QT’s 10 only because I want more QT movies! 😂

@@josephirizarry5195 I think the way I arrived at this sentiment was watching QTs earlier collab Four Rooms. This wasn’t counted toward his total because he just had a quarter of the project to his name. Obviously not gonna count that. The Grindhouse project was similar to me in that QT had half the project to his name instead of just a quarter. I understand why it’s considered an official QT film, because literally is, I’m just saying I don’t want us to count it toward one of his 10 standalone and individually-credited projects.

Hey Octobers! I loved this movie when I 1st watched it. I had never seen anything like it. A serial killer that murders young women w/his car, but then messes w/the wrong chicks in the end. 😄 I liked it so much that I got my cousin to watch it & she liked it too. The 1st car accident didn't happen multiple times. It was giving u multiple view points of what happened to the girls when the accident occurred. Did u recognize the sheriff & his deputy-Son #1 from KILL BILL? 😊 Zoe Bell, the chick riding on the car hood, is a stunt woman & actress from New Zealand. She actually did her own stunts. The long car chase scene was Tarantino's tribute to the 1968 movie BULLITT. It has an iconic car chase scene. Heck, the car chase brought back memories of growing up watching THE DUKES OF HAZZARD on TV.😄 U guys are probably too young to know about that series. I enjoyed the reaction, but was surprised that u really had no comments @ the end.

Zoe the stuntwoman in this was Uma Thurman’s actually stuntwoman in Kill Bill. The guy selling the car is also the customer in the hospital from Kill Bill Vol. 1, and the two cops are the two cops from the chapel in Kill Bill Vol. 1...the dad cop is originally from From Dusk till Dawn, (which Tarantino wrote [and acted in] but didn’t direct) and the son is from the sequel. When this movie released in theatres it released (as a slightly different cut) as a double bill movie called Grindhouse, the first part of Grindhouse was a movie called Planet Terror (which was made by the director of From Dusk till Dawn) and that doctor (and the twins from the bar) are characters in that movie. I have a theory about Stuntman Mike. I think he might be a hitman. The movie never explicitly tells you what his deal is. The most you get is the cop giving you his theory about why Stuntman Mike kills people. But the movie gives you a detail that a girl in both groups have in common, and that’s that both groups have a girl in them that’s in a relationship with a director, and both those girls are on the outs with said boyfriend. So I think Stuntman Mike, who being a stuntman at some point has ties to the industry, is some guy rich industry people can call up to get rid of girlfriends...or maybe just people in general but he has the most fun when it’s girls.

Checkout 'True Romance' written by Tarantino, directed by Tony Scott - Ridley Scott's brother. It's a dope movie you can totally tell it's written by Tarantino. DEATH PROOF was part of a double feature by Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. This is before y'all time but they use to have a thing called DOUBLE FEATURE movies usually shown in drive in theaters. They were trying to mimic the look and vibe of Drive in double features. That is why the film had pops and scaring and jumped scenes, the move they had in drive ins were that crappy. P.S. I first saw STAR WARS in a drive in double feature with a movie called STAR CRASH.
