"I don't need to write that down, I'll remember it!", says me all the time when I should be making notes for next time. I do not remember anything, ever, lol.

Never. And never mind that I have a notebook, sometimes take notes on my pattern pieces. Do I still have things I miss? YEP. 🤣

The way you matched the fabrics EXACTLY to the bottoms was so beautiful to see! I love having things match perfectly like that. So good! 🧡💛💚 Great idea to pull out stuff in your wardrobe before picking out a top fabric. ☺️

Thanks, glad you enjoyed me sharing that part! I always feel like it might be helpful for someone else when you see someone's thought process (and I know I like it when others do that too). Perfect matches are so satisfying, aren't they. ☺️

I did this recently! I made like 7 different versions. There’s so many nice combos for this pattern.
@tashacouldmakethat6 ай бұрын
7 wow! Nice. There really is kind of an infinite variety with this pattern, isn't there. I want to try it with 🤣the plain round neck sometime too. If I can ever stop making the band collar. Which I may cannot since I love it so much.

Thanks! I actually wore the green one on Saturday with a skirt that had a perfectly matching green in it, so it's going with more things than I even anticipated originally. ☺️

I definitely signed up for craftsy, cause that is such a great deal! And oh my god Tasha, I never wanted to make this shirt until now. I have been with Gertie's patreon since the beginning, and I've liked most of the patterns but just didn't see some of them working for me style wise, this was one of them. Until now! These look so good on you! I need one or three in my wardrobe now.
@tashacouldmakethat6 ай бұрын
Awesome, you'll enjoy the membership for sure! Soooo many things to watch and learn. I know what you mean about Patreon, sometimes you see something that's amazing on others but it doesn't feel like you, or maybe you at the time. Seeing as I just went and had 2 patterns from I think 2 years ago printed. 🤣 I REALLY am so happy with this pattern!!

Love these tops, I bought the pattern.🤗 I appreciate the neckline tips, you saved me from some frustration. Also the notch clipping tip! Brilliant 🌻🍄
@tashacouldmakethat6 ай бұрын
I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of doing the notches that way sooner! Actually technically I think I had, but always worried if I got going too fast I'd be more likely to clip into the stitching on accident so never wanted to do it. But with sewing 3 at a time, I needed a faster way. 🤣

This is one of my favorite looks, but I do get tripped up as well every time I’m doing one of the collars. So thank you for all the hints that you provided in this video. I’m 52 and I’m wondering if I should shorten the torso on the top, how tall are you?. Congratulations on your recent achievements.😊
@tashacouldmakethat6 ай бұрын
Thanks! I'm 5'2" and while I usually do short torso adjustments for all bodices, I don't typically bother for knits since they're more forgiving, so I haven't for this pattern. Just shortened the overall length since it's too long for me. 😊
@Puppy526 ай бұрын
Love the collars😍 I wonder if it would be easier to attach the collar before sewing the center back seam?🤔
@tashacouldmakethat6 ай бұрын
I love that collar too! I don’t think you could without needing to clip into the seam allowance to allow it to turn in which might not work well and be as clean looking inside. But the way I did it worked great and was easy. I was overthinking it last time!

Congrats on your first 10k! I love your channel and wanna know…when are we gonna see you on Craftsy? (Amazing deal on the subscription!) My favourite course? There are a lot of them! I have learned a ton from Suzy Furrer and Lynda Maynard and Pam Howard just to start…but I‘m gonna go with my first Gail Yellen…she made me feel that I could sew if I just took it one. Step. At. A time. A great lesson! ❤

Thanks so much! Boy I'd love to teach on Craftsy someday. 🥰 Pam Howard is amazing, I just started watching a class of hers and she's hilarious! I love Beverly Johnson too (of the bra making classes). She's where I learned the term to sew with a loose bottom... meaning fabric that needs to be eased on the bottom. But so amusing you don't forget it. (Although I sometimes ignore it.)🤣

Hi Tasha, I recently found your channel and have been binge watching. I love your style and would really love to add more vintage looks to my closet but at am a loss when it comes to foundation garments. Could you give some advice in that area?
@tashacouldmakethat6 ай бұрын
Thanks so much, welcome to the channel! I’ll fully admit I’m not a huge wearer of foundation garments except a bra (unless it’s a special occasion). I do typically prefer to wear vintage style bras that give more lift-not as severe as a bullet bra. My favorite is Bali Flower though I’ve also traced it off and sewed my own. And I sometimes wear a “normal” t-shirt bra (I am in the beginning of this video). At the end I’m wearing a Revival Lingerie bra. If you’re interested, yearrrrs ago I wrote a blog post sight retro bras. I’m talking about 40s styles in the post since I was into that at the time but this is exactly the style bra I still prefer: tashacouldmakethat.com/2011/10/adventures-in-recreating-1940s-bust/

What brand is your matching thread? How much is it-meters/yds?
@tashacouldmakethat6 ай бұрын
Gutermann thread, I buy it from WAWAK and it’s 1,000 or so yards for the size I showed. It’s great! I even splurged for a shade card once which can be really helpful.

I’ll have to make an order with Wawak. Thank you. 😊

Could you not have added a small band to the orange sleeve?
@tashacouldmakethat6 ай бұрын
Yes but I didn’t feel the need to and as I showed in the end I liked the short length better!
