lmfao at the comments on the circles being too small! Well duh, it's meant to be slightly uncomfortable for the horse. The horse will naturally disengage their hindquarters in a small circle, and once they slow down, then you let them go straight as a reward. Obviously, this isn't forever, ideally you do this exercise for 30 mins at a time until the horse goes more slowly. Once the horse is consistently slow at every ride, you won't have to do small circles like these ever again!! That is unless the horse is feeling more fresh. Half halting with a speeding horse will just lead to fights, and bracing, so whoever thinks half halting is the solution to a chronically rushing horse is an IDIOT.

Great video and technique which is very helpful. I was just distracted by the moving black frame.

Maybe. It's always advisable to carry a sharp knife when working with horses though. I've used several different knots over the years. There is not a single knot that will not bind, given the perfect storm. BE READY TO CUT YOUR LEADROPE.

May we know more about pressure points for bending and coming round? Turning. :) Thank you. Trying to find more videos as well.

Thanks. I made myself look like an idiot when I didn’t know how to roll up stirrups at an equestrian centre I started volunteering at. I’m not familiar with English tack yet.

Excellent video! Broken down very well. Great that you pointed out the prerequisite before attempting to teach this. Many hear they need to teach something but don’t know what to do first which only causes confusion and frustration.

You will find that one has better communication with the horse by keeping one's hands in the 10" box.

Thank you for showing the one rein stop in REAL situations! I'm dealing with a horse that spooks, bolts, and dirty stops at the end. So I appreciate seeing people really using this technique in troubled situations like mine.

honestly, so much unecessary hate. they obviously haven't ridden a true horse that "rushes". Your Eq may not look the best, but at least the horse is getting a lesson. You focus on the horse's work, not your Eq when schooling I think ppl need to undersand that 😂 good idea, and great job. ignore them. it's a good concept, just needs to be carried out further and better? also what a white horse omg so clean 😂😂

Like the circle method! With my horse I use about half the arena to encourage her to stay in the canter and not constantly break into a trot.

Good quick explanation that works. Thanks. I have seen people use this to tie horses to the trailer window bars, emphasizing the quick release benefit in case the horse panics or needs his head.
