Thanks for the deep review and the photos were very helpful . I noticed a variation in the colours and that is what made me chiose the Nokton . As soon as I saw his pictures I was convinced. Thanks a lot !

Putting aside the matter of the two lenses in your video, I should like to congratulate you on the very high level of your use of the English language. I wish I were able to speak ANY second language as easily and proficiently as you speak English. I was particularly struck by the ease with which you deployed the adjective "proud" in a very unusual (but not unheard of) and, one might almost say, poetic way, by referring to the Leica lens's "proud price tag." Brilliant! It made my ears perk up immediately. I thought, "Did she really say that?" and I had to go back and listen to it again to be sure that I heard what I thought I heard. My hat is off to you! Congratulations.

Currently considering purchasing the M6 as part of my kit. Today I have a Leica M10R that I love BUT it may need to be serviced and I do not what to be without a camera. I´ve been playing around with some PS film cameras shooting B/W and I think that is where the M6 will fit into my kit. How many rolls of film do you shoot on a normal day when using your M6 and what film are you using?

Tbh i got one and I think it's unusable, with any thinner negative it vignettes so much, creating light leak like artifacts when you convert to positive. Horrible overpriced product.

I don’t know, my easy35 has quite a bit of problems with color casts, light leak like artifacts on thin negatives and the known vignette issue. Build quality I also find subpar for something priced at 250€ once you add just one accessory. This is basically built in the same way and costs twice as much, seems outrageous.

Hi. What if you have a box of glass slides of Paris from the 1920's and want to convert them to digital. There are almost no people in the shots, it's really just scenes of the city with very little in the way of artistic merit but they are interesting and in good condition and I wondered if there is a modern way to transfer them.

Cool video and great shots. On your question on the diffusion filter, I work as a retoucher and I almost always add a similar softness to photos I work on. Unless it's for advertising I advise photographers to use those filters, because "in camera" still looks better. And yes always always back up your files. At least on two different storage solutions.😅

Yeah,I actually agree, I didn’t love the look either bad had to use the footage since I wouldn’t have enough otherwise. I tried it in a different context, with proper recording setting and less artificial light sources and it looked way better in this subtle way, so I feel like here it was just a bit too much.

excellent video. I had two time the same journey. with two divorce. first with the first x100 trying to replace my leica M7, then the X100V trying to replace my leica M240D . lot of money moving with lens… and each time back to manual focus on M. I try also two different generations of Ricoh GR digital. I will keep the GRX 40mm as a notebook camera but I will be back to M. could be the M4, my favorite.

@ No worries - I can understand, technology is evolving so quickly! So cool though that you are on KZbin nonetheless and trying to get behind it! In case you want to change the audio, this is what you need to do: When watching a video you can go to the little gear icon. There you can find a setting called "Audiotrack". And here is where you can change it to English (Original). Good luck :)

Interessantes Video. Durch Zufall bin ich bei deutschen Audiospur gelandet, das hat dem Video eine zusätzliche interessante Komponente gegeben. Ist das durch KI entstanden?
@KarinMajoka
@KarinMajoka 17 күн бұрын
"Interessant" kann man es wohl nenne, ich finde es schon fast etwas gruselig :D Ja, das ist eine neue Funktion von KZbin, die Audiospur wird automatisch von KZbin in mehreren Sprachen erstellt. Aber man kann es in den Einstellungen umstellen und somit auch das Original anschauen.

In the 70s I majored in photography, shooting 4x5, 8x10 and 120. Deep dive into fine art silver prints (Ansel Adams, Brett Weston etc.), and dabbled in various alternative processes. After college I settled into 120 6x7 and a fully automatic 35mm. Eventually as Agfa went out of business and materials were discontinued, I went to digital. YOU ARE CORRECT about saving negatives! I have lost digital files on burned CDs. I now see digital images as the least archival medium of all. Will a digital file be readable in 200 years? Film will be, given the right film base and conditions. I've stopped using digital and am going back to film in my old age with old cameras. I'm going back to what I love most. B&W silver prints.

What is the price of film there at the moment? ysed to be dirt cheap and they had huge fridges of the stuff. i took the opportunity to go to japan in between my Masters photography degree and took a year off. I lived in Tokyo and hadn't shot 35mm for years so i only had a hasselblad 503cw. I took that thing everywhere. Japan is an amazing city to take photos in. People are a lot more accepting but its easy to forget that just because they are accepting doesn't mean its not rude sticking a camera in their faces. Something that my Japanese friend told me as soon as I got there. That said. The amount of photo opportunities is staggering there. Its difficult not to fall into the cliche. But at the time film was not premium and the amount of photo shops there is huge so I would just shoot everything that moved. It was a dream of mine to visit and I had actually moved there for a year which blew my mind every day. I shot hundreds of acros film and pretty much only slide film for colour. I would use mirror lock up and most shots were pin sharp. I have been back a couple of times and would probably head back there soon. But this time around I would take my Mamiya 7Ii and a MP240. Have fun!
@KarinMajoka
@KarinMajoka 17 күн бұрын
Sounds like a dream! So amazing to hear you were able to spend an entire year there, I would love to do the same one day but sadly that is very out of reach for me at this stage in life. Regarding the film prices: They are not cheap at all at the moment sadly, mostly even more expensive than in Europe. I visited a couple of photo stores in an earlier episode where I also show current film prices, you can find the video in the Japan playlist on my channel in case you are interested! :)
