I'm late to the party, I know. But I got some important news tobshare with you guys. There was violence and drugs involved at home since I was a kid. I was drugged several times and then sometimes was abused during the intoxication. I had horrible anxiety and depression. Was a martyr actually. Coffee was introduced into my life in a healthy setting during my late 20's. It changed my life for the better. A 180°, definitely. There are so many people who have the opposite effect but for me, it was like wearing armor to a war compared to cheap peasant clothing.

So its possible to build muscle with typ 2 diabetes? Is it possible to even build alot of muscle? Like a bodybuilder?
@FitnessSolutionsPlus2 күн бұрын
It is absolutely possible to build muscle with type 2 diabetes, but likely not like a professional bodybuilder. But building muscle like a pro bodybuilder has very little to do with diabetes. To be an elite level pro bodybuilder, you need 3 things (in no particular order): 1. Genetics 2. Drugs 3. Great training

Good video! Good points! Good summary. I am a vet athlete and still learned from this. Very useful. Good point on the diuretics, and sweating out. I have one coffee a day only (diuretic) but can't figure out why I sleep bad after a training seshion (around 6PM). Will start taking magnesium right after practice, so by bed time it is well absorbed.

Carbs are helpful for building muscle, but not essential. By far the most important macronutrient is protein. If you keep your carbs low, you'll sacrifice just a tiny bit of muscle growth, but still manage your diabetes properly.

Why is most of your info from old studies? I tried calories in vs calories out about 14 years ago. I lost about 42lbs and was always hungry. Gained it all back plus another 40lbs. Started IF July 15, 2023, I am down 75lbs, and never really hungry. I'll stick with IF. It may be slow for me, but it's working.
@FitnessSolutionsPlus25 күн бұрын
My studies are from 2006, 2013, 2014, 2018 and 2019. Do you consider that to be old? Have human bodies changed a lot since 2006, to the point where research from then doesn't apply to the humans of today? Also, please understand what I'm saying in the video. I'm NOT saying that IF is ineffective. I'm saying that it's not superior. If it works for you, keep it going.

What have you done to help someone who's diabetic to reverse it? What do you gain by using this platform to discredit someone who's helping thousands of people to fix their health? Are you a doctor?.....so, instead of using your time in a more beneficial way, you decided to watch Dr Fungs' videos and try to find faults in what he says 🤔. How many people have you helped with your so-called knowledge ? I'm one of those people who have benefited from Dr. fung's videos, i lost weight, i reversed my diabetes, and other ailments that i didn't even know that were actually linked to diabetes. Intermittent fasting, low carbohydrates, and eating healthy helped me to take control of my health......all thanks to Doctors Fung, Berry, Berg, Bos, who speak the same thing, and some of them had issues with insulin resistance. So please don't come here and talk about something you read about in some journals, written by people who have no interest in other people's well-being. You have no clue whatsoever about the subject.
@FitnessSolutionsPlus25 күн бұрын
To answer your question of what I've done to help some who's diabetic reverse it - a lot. I've been a personal trainer since 2006, with a specialty in chronic conditions. One of the big ones is type 2 diabetes. I detail just a small sample of diabetics that my team and I has helped in great length on my blog (blog.fitnesssolutionsplus.ca/category/success-stories). Additionally, I'm the author of the Amazon bestselling book, "Type 2 Diabetes Reversal Secrets", which has sold over 5000 copies. Again, I'm not saying that intermittent fasting is useless. Just overrated. It's useful for some people, but not others.

Low calorie only diets lower basal metabolic rate, IF does not. Even though initial fat loss is the same, long term success is only 1% with calorie restriction. In addition, ghrelin (hunger hormone) increases and peptide YY (satiety hormone decreases. Making the statement about insulin (an anabolic hormone) not influencing fat gain, is simple ignorance. Poor fella. Most likely a registered dietician. They are almost all calories in/calories out, eat less, move more robots.
@zero-cj7ih25 күн бұрын
Exactly!.....he's so annoying 😑
@FitnessSolutionsPlus25 күн бұрын
If low calorie diets lower BMR, what is IF? Are you saying that you can lose body fat on IF without restricting calories? If so, do you have evidence for that claim? As for insulin, I provided a study showing that it does not play much of a role in fat gain. Do you have a study to back up your claim?
@Frogman12524 күн бұрын
@@FitnessSolutionsPlus The ketogenic diet is the most researched in history. I invite you to review literature. Calorie restrictive diets protocol normally requires 3-5 feeding sessions, designed to keep your glucose levels elevated, evenly throughout the day. Along with that insulin levels. Your body adapts by lowering your metabolic rate to match your lower caloric intake. Conversely, with intermittent fasting, insulin levels are well below referenced protocol above. Many things happen with IF, increased HGH production, increased autophagy, fatty acids are released from fat cells (shrinking fat cells) sent to the liver where they are converted to ketones and triglycerides for energy. Remember, fat loss is incredibly hard with raised insulin. Lastly, as stated, your hunger hormone (Ghrelin) increases and stays elevated, white your satiety hormone (peptide YY) decreses and stays so. That is why 99% of people whom use calorie restriction and lose weight, gain it all back, they are fighting hunger. On IF and carnivore, there is none of that.
@zaubermicha25 күн бұрын
1:05 In your cited review article, there is no mention of comparing equal amounts of calories between the different studies. In fact, the subjects in the IF studies ate ad libitum (as much as they wanted) on their non-fasting days. (They therefore potentially consumed more calories, yet lost the same amount of visceral fat, suggesting that the IF intervention might be more effective.)
@FitnessSolutionsPlus25 күн бұрын
When a study is done, you have to standardize all the conditions, so that you're only comparing one variable. Indeed the calories were the same in all conditions.
@zaubermicha25 күн бұрын
@@FitnessSolutionsPlus Yes, in an ideal experiment, you would only change one variable. However, this is nutrition science, and in these particular studies, the subjects, above all, did not eat the same foods, nor did they consume the same amount of calories. The researchers didn't even measure calorie intake on the non-fasting (feasting) days in the IF studies. How can you claim the calories were the same if the researchers themselves didn't even measure the calorie intake?

From my experience rebounding, it seemed like the weight came off faster in my hips, thighs, and belly.......which is exactly what I wanted. It helped with flexibility and energy. But you have to start slow and be careful to use proper form when beginning to avoid injury. I love rebounding! I'm 65 and it's one thing I can do that doesn't aggravate my joints. I do recommend the bungee style over the spring style as it's less jarring.
