I agree with your analysis. I think it is quite interesting approach to unpacking characters. I think there are one more interesting trick about affection to this particular character. When Gale dies first time you get a quest to resurrect him. I noticed that I started playing safer in combat trying to prevent him from accidentally dying. The same thing about his hunger. I started thinking about whether to sell the item or keep it for Gale. From that point on i started to care about him without even really realizing it. Speaking about ending for Gale I think there is not absolutely good ending. If he remains a human it will be better for his personality but he is still a wizard. I mean Mistra is not just his ex, she is a goddess of magic she is magic and she is still part of Gale.

I think it really speaks to Lae'zel's character that she's so quickly loyal to the group. Everybody else sees sticking with the herd as an improvement of their chances at survival and finding a cure, but Lae'zel - as far as she is convinced - could quickly and easily reach those goals by herself. She's sticking around to save the rest, who are at least at first barely more than strangers, many of whom she finds irritating. That is incredibly selfless of her and I don't think people give her enaugh credit. I may be a little biased on account of that's my beautiful beloved wife but I also think I'm right.

I also thought they were being misogynistic mainly cause of the way they phrased her shortcomings as being her "girlish charm". Plus i feel like it's a little hypocritical based on how the demiurge sees his victims as making the most "pretty corpses". The most primal version of this urge seems to enjoy the beauty of the violence so while in actual lore bhaal might only care about the quantity, i don't think that's necessarily the case here.

I love that we had a BG3 phase together, and you're having an Arcane phase now at the exact time I have started my Arcane phase.

I've always found Vellioth to be just as interesting, especially since there are a few hints about what we know that leads me to believe that he was a Bhaalist. "Rite of Perfect Slaughter" is telling already, but what if he was isolated because he just kept killing everyone of his spawn as a way to please Bhaal? This would make sense if, just like the Rule of Two of the Sith in Star Wars, Vellioth kept Cazador just to ensure the survival of the vampire lineage in Baldur's Gate, that we know was already interrupted once by the Lathanderians. There's also the possibility that each of the vampire masters was MUCH worse than the last. We don't know much about Donella, but coming after someone who was nicknamed the "Hideous" leads me to believe that she had worse than both Vellioth and Cazador.
