EXACTLY this issue on our exact same set....much appreciated for the detail here...especially the actual cycles and their full descriptions....which I too did not receive when the set was purchased. First thought is to use heavy duty to replace the normal/eco mode and go from there. Vinegar makes complete sense as well and that'll be the next step....excellent video, thank you!

Unfortunately this does not work on my 2021 Toyota Rav4. I will not buy another Toyota again because I hate this feature. It is not for the public it is done so the manufacturers can claim a higher fleet mpg. Good bye Toyota or any other manufacturer that does not permit me to defeat this feature. I hate it!

Here is what worked for me after trying everything in this thread yet continued suds. We never had this issue with any washer in past except for this new Speed queen TC5. Our standpipe also is not clogged. I took a large sponge (approx 2.75" thick by 4" wide by 8 inches long) and cut in half. I put a hole in the center of sponge to where I could get the drain hose all the way into it. I then compressed the sponge and put into the 2" pvc stand pipe. Next, I put the drain hose into the sponge in the stand pipe. It provides a good tight seal yet sponge is breathable. After 8 loads.......no suds on any setting. Also I am using 1 TBS (Tide) detergent and 2 TBS vinegar just in case. I hope this helps someone out there.

I, too, hate the auto-shutoff feature. However, I'm driving a 2024 Subaru Impreza. In this car, they've removed the physical buttons. So, the auto-shutoff is on a touch screen. It's supposed to be designed so that you can choose to disable auto-shutoff. However, when I try to do that, the car never remembers that I've chosen to disable it. So, I'm in the habit of having to push that button, every time I start the car. It's a real annoyance. I'm convinced that the manufacturers weren't, at all, concerned about fuel savings, when they implemented this feature. I think it's just another way for you to pay them more money to repair/replace parts, that will wear out sooner, due to the car starting more often.

I know this is 7 month old but I wonder if anyone has told he all he has to do is drive in sport mode and it will also not turn on?😂🤷♂
@rickstid-bits12 күн бұрын
Hi Anthony. I don't know if that's true in my car. I haven't tested that. Besides, my car will not stay in Sport Mode. Every time I turn it on it will default to either Comfort or Smart (If I had it in Smart Mode when I turned the car off). I can't change that. So, I would have to turn the mode dial every time I start the car. That's another thing I would have to do/touch every single time. What I've done on mine gets rid of me having to any extra steps at all - forever. Plus, I don't want it always in Sport Mode.

Hello. They didn't for me, but I don't know about others. Some people are reporting that light blue fabric, ribbon, or something similar is working for them. You could also go to a dollar store and look for a small box of blue, small trash bags, and try them. Our stores carry Glad “Beachside Breeze,” small, 4 gallon trash bags. Today after experiencing this issue called Speed Queen customer service. They confirmed this happening but stated no machine defect. I was told to run a wash with nothing in tub but 1 cup white vinegar and 1 tbs dish soap to clean residual soap. Told to use heavy duty cycle ( Not Eco) so full water in rinse cycle thus soap bubbles diluted. I was told to use only high efficiency soap. But this is not a machine defect- why did I spend more for speed queen? Thankyou video truly helped!!!!

Agree that this is a horrible feature - ridiculous engineering complication for a tiny fuel savings. It is one of my never-would-purchase features, a deal-killer. It can be disabled (temporarily or permanently) but the special engineering (and cost of build) is still in there. See the Car Care Nut explanation of all the design changes involved. Special (more expensive to buy and repair) parts like battery, charging system, battery-state monitoring, starter, hvac system, transmission, and of course tons of sensors and computers. Even if the function is disabled, the design and parts are built in, waiting to break (everything breaks) and cost $$$$$ to repair. Insane, expensive, unnecessary complexity. The nerve-racking annoyance is the least of it. Tech-crazy engineering gone wild.

I have the same manual override for the start/stop feature in my Acura RDX. Every time I start the RDX, I manually push the disable button. It has become an automatic routine like buckling my seatbelt. I see no need to modify the car to permanently disable this annoying feature. I don’t want to give the manufacturer any to void my warranty.

I’m very disappointed as I bought this washer specifically to not have any issues with the washer. I’ll try vinegar, if that works this is the most helpful video I’ve ever found on YT. I want to add that I was using Arm and Hammer detergent for 8 months and never had bubble issue. Switched to Gain Moonlite Scent Detergent and the issue appeared right away, this detergent must be more bubbly. But that’s absurd that I cannot use any detergent, TC5 literally has written on it that it’s “commercial use” so should handle detergents. I did a lot of research before I bought and everyone was recommending SQ.

A bird kept getting on top of my two cameras above my front door in the front porch entry way. This bird kept pooping and I trying to build a nest on top of my tiny square cameras. I tried to use the blue bag trick just like the one in this video. It didn't work at all. In fact my wife told me that she thought the bird was actually trying to thank me for providing a warm cover for its feet. I thought it was more likely mocking me for this ridiculous idea. she would yell at it through the camera and it fled once or twice and then after that it just laughed at her as well. So I tried plan B which was to smear Vaseline all over the back side of the cameras. Then Wala no more bird. I guess they don't like to get their feet cold and greasy.

Building in a feature to cause early failures is engineering to shorten the life span on purpose.
@3henry21422 күн бұрын
And that's not the only thing on modern vehicles that causes issues, Direct Injection engines, the fuel is injected directly into the cylinders, bypassing the intake valves. As a result, carbon builds up on the back side of the valve and eventually causes problems. Car manufacturers know this and is why some are going to a hybrid fuel system with both port fuel injection and direct injection. I don't know what the cycle is between the two switching, but the port injection sprays fuel into the intake manifold, to minimize carbon build up on the valves. And then there are the other auto manufacturers that choose to stick with direct injection only engine, even though it is a well known issue of carbon build up.

Hi Rick. A hold it down shim works on a 2024 Honda Ridgeline !! As always, “at owners risk”. Those auto offs are very annoying indeed !! I suspect a shell game to ever so slightly increase CAFE rating. A guess. Just before I found this video, I had idea to try a shim placed next to the override button on my 2024 Honda Ridgeline to hold it down & it works !! An engineer pal has a Honda relative, an Acura and that idea does not work for his Acura. He made a gizmo that puts a short voltage pulse out every time the motor is started mimicking the push of the override button. For my Ridgeline, I grabbed a clear plastic thin walled container out of the recycling bin, cut out several small rectangular bits and shimmed them in. Clear as to not be noticeable. Captain Obvious statement here: In a northern climate batteries are greatly weakened just when they need to put out massive current to start engine when -10 degrees, -15, -20, sometimes worse. Brutal conditions to start a car after setting out all day during work, or whatever. We find with modern cars having computer memories and Auto Unlock sensors always monitoring when the key fob is close enough, those tiny around the clock parasitic current drains force us to place a trickle charger on our short trip in town vehicles about every 3 weeks, despite being parked in an insulated garage that seldom gets colder than +30 degrees. Old bomber 1998 Chev truck can set basically all winter unused in same garage and battery isn’t nearly as much run down as newer vehicles with obviously significant, yet tiny, parasitic current draws around the clock. It’s more the around the clock gig than the microamps draw. So, I severely frown on frequent engine restarts during short in town trips in coldest days with seat heater on and love my first ever most excellent steering wheel heat on, blower fan also on higher. Auto stop is a miserable idea, especially in winter !! A shell game.
