I might have missed it in the video, but I am wondering what mode you have your Garmin set in while you are on the bike (during a race, training on the bike, play riding, etc). There is a mode for running, swimming, cycling, but there isn't exactly a mode for what we do specifically. I have never had a sport watch, but I'm currently looking at them to help when I'm training off the bike and for when I race/ride. I have been finding good deals on the 945 GPS and I'm thinking that is the one I'm going to go with. Thanks for any advice and for putting out these informative videos.

@@enduro803 The Garmin 945 is a great watch, yet it is getting a little old. It may be worth getting one generation newer, the 955 for the newer technology and extended support. On the Garmin you are looking at you can create a custom activity, this is what I did. You can also just use the bike setting as it will capture all the data you need. 👍🏼

I agree with this video 100%. I used to do CrossFit and getting injured is way more likely do to how they structure the workouts. CrossFit is always a TIMED workout which leads to injury once you get tired and your FORM goes. Great video Tyler! ✌🏽

We don't have to impress anyone with stretching when we pull into the gas station with a dirt bike they know you're a bad MF! 😅

I ate a fat burrito at 9:30 AM prior to VTR and absolutely regretted it. Felt way too full at the starting line lol (Evan at a 12:45 start time) it definitely ruined my race In 30a

Oh that is tough, sounds like you can dial in the breakfast to feel better for races going forward.

Pasta the day before and overnight oats the morning of for me works great. I always have my hydration pretty dialed in as well. Now if I could just find a program that could give me some SKILL? 😂

Interesting! I'm on the right path with breakfast! I literally eat overnight oats every day including race day! 1/2 cup oats. 1 scoop protein, 2 tbsp of chia, and top with strawberries!

That's a solid race day breakfast, and the fact that it is cold also helps!

I’ve been intently listening to your first five episodes, and I am quite interested in your program. However, I’m curious about what you would have to say around someone that is dealing with a post injury, such as a partially torn ACL in the knee and previously broken both ankles. I hear you talking about some of the strength training and running and endurance and I wonder how that would apply to me given the injuries that I’ve sustained, and specifically my knee and ankles as I deal with pain in them every day - especially the left knee.

We would want to be mindful of your previous injuries. Focusing the aerobic training on non weight bearing exercises such cycling and rowing if possible. For strength we would put an emphasis on mobility and range of motion before stepping into any weight bearing strength. 🏁🏁
