The nightstand necessities pouch concept is a game changer! It has made settling into new places while traveling more comfortable- like a little piece of home away from home. I’ve enjoyed incorporating that concept that you’ve introduced to me.

That bag is so nice! I recently moved over to the Osprey 26+6 travel bag (can fit under the seat for pretty much any airline). I used to use the Osprey Porter 46, which is absolutely amazing, but didn’t handle smaller trips well because of its size. With the daylite 26+6, you can unzip the top flap to get 6 extra L. It’s a joy to travel with and the internal computer pocket doesn’t take up space like a dedicated pocket. Hope this helps!

Hello Maggi ! I would like to tell you that I really enjoy your videos, first because of your simplicity, cheerfulness and your straight to the point view and secondly because you're a European female as I am (I'm from France) so it's more relatable for me comparing to American persons for example with usually a lot of tech gear or female with a lot of make-up (and hair items) as I don't wear make-up and keep my skin care and hair care to a minimum... I bought the Peak design backpack (the 35l expandable to 45l) some years ago and after only using it twice I re-sold it because it was way to heavy for me (I'm 50kg), it was a nightmare both times 😅 So I went with a lighter and smaller bag and I try to each time reduce the amount of things I bring. I really look forward to seeing your thoughts about this bag ! Another thing : you told in some of your videos that you've only got two Ipads (no laptop anymore) ; I am very interested in hearing your experience about it (I'm considering that option but I'm scared - yes I thing the word is not too much ☺️ - because I have no experience in Apple products and it seems a completely different world ! I hope you are doing well and your husband is doing better and better... bye ! 🌿🌸

I wish the smaller backpacks (that open like a suitcase) would have a waist/hip strap too. Even when hiking or having a backpack on my back when traveling I like to have the weight distributed on my hips etc. Oh and a chest strap too. I am curious about what you pack for day hikes when you are at your destination. Happy Sunday!
@MaggiFuchs10 ай бұрын
Usually I don’t bring too much stuff with me on day hikes. Unless I have to stay overnight on the trail, I only bring some water and some snacks and a tiny first aid kit. My husband has a small, packable backpack and usually he gets the honor of carrying everything… 😂

I love this bag! I purchased it after watching your past video about it. I’m very turned off by crinkling or thick and scratchy fabrics. This bag’s fabrics just feel really good and make me feel calm, if that makes sense. 😊
@MaggiFuchs11 ай бұрын
That absolutely makes sense - I also prefer fabrics that feel like fabrics and not like a brick of plastic… And I have been very happy how this one held up over the years. It only has those few scratches on the front that actually look worse in the video than in real life (and tbh they could also be dirt, because I didn‘t clean it 😅), the rest of the bag looks almost like new. I wish you and your bag lots of amazing adventures together! 🥰

Thank you for all of your videos; they are always inspiring! I too am very curious about your review of the bag. Several of your videos have completely changed the way I pack, my favourite of which is the one which charts your journey from 70 to 30 litres and where you explore exactly what type of bag works for you. This made me completely rethink the size and shape of bag I want to carry versus what I actually take with me. 18 months ago I hostel / hotel hopped around the Alps and went crazy with how difficult my Osprey Fairview 40 was to pack / unpack for 1 night stays. Even the fact that I had to unpack it to reach anything beneath the heavy top flap got very frustrating! So I changed tactic remembering what you said about access to a bag when on the floor or in a small space...and now I've just finished what felt like a marathon six months of researching for, then trying out several different bags to solve the 'problem' I had. Think I've got there in the end! Also, it may be helpful or it may be too much information but do you know about OneBagTravels and his bag chart? It's amazingly detailed; he links to it in the comments at the top of the page for this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6vZp4mXo9iem5o&lc=UgxSTugEEHKqO-DbzRd4AaABAg.9k4LQhaalQd9zqeO80LIuo

Hey Maggi , Love the Osprey. I’ve been looking for the Osprey in the green color you have . But no luck . So I just purchased it from Osprey in Stone Black yesterday . I can’t wait to receive it . Here is another experience I had with Osprey . I just used the Osprey all mighty guarantee on an Osprey Day lite 13L . I had it for around 10 years. They told me to send it in , so I did and about to 2 weeks later they sent me an email that they would rather send me the new model of the some bag . I received the Osprey Day time , Day lite last week . Osprey is such an amazing company. Ooh and I even got to pick the color on the bag. Hope your husband is doing well … 🙏
@MaggiFuchs10 ай бұрын
I think the color I have is from a past season, because I have it since a few years already - I also don‘t see it anymore. Glad that you had such a good experience with their guarantee. Unfortunately, they don‘t give the same guarantee to their European customers (like almost all bag companies) and it‘s basically worthless. It is just for a few years, and only manufacturing defects. But so far, at least my Arcane is holding up very well. :) Let me know how it works for you! :)

Outstanding helpful real world review. I'm going to try some of your recommended gear, including this 30L backpack. I am also curious about your upcoming review of the Peak Design backpack and if it fits your travel style. It's pretty heavy with an empty weight of 2 kg. I saw a product demo clip and it's overloaded with features. It's probably the zippers alone on that thing, that make it so heavy. Also a hefty price tag. I also have a CabinZero 44L Classic backpack that passes as carry one for some airlines (22 cm. x 35 cm. x 56 cm). It has not many features but it's pretty light for its size (760 g).

Hi Maggi, I fell in love with this bag (and your lovely review). Ive been considering it but the measurements seem to exceed almost all airlines’ carry on requirements. Have you had any issue especially with budget airlines?
@MaggiFuchs17 күн бұрын
No, I've never had any problems flying with it as hand luggage on any airline. It’s a 30 liter bag and that seems pretty accurate to me. I just looked at Ospreys website and I think the measurements given are wrong. It’s never 27 cm (10.63”) deep…. If I calculate with those measurements, I would get a 39 liter bag… and it is much smaller than my husband's 38-liter bag. Unfortunately, I'm traveling right now and testing a different bag, so I can’t measure the one I have. But I really think they give the wrong measurements on their website / in their sales copy. So that’s a very long reply saying: no, I've never had any problems…. 😂 Hope this helps.

@@MaggiFuchs thanks a lot Maggi for the detailed response. The logic behind using the measurements to cross reference volume makes a lot of sense. Much appreciated!! Hope you're having a great time!

Great video. We are going to try to live out of 2 backpacks for a family of 4 on our 10 day vacation. What was the hardest adjustment when you started using just a backpack? I heard somewhere that the ideal weight for someone to carry a backpack comfortably is to limit the weight to 10% of your body weight.
@MaggiFuchs11 ай бұрын
I guess the weight depends on the type of trip you are doing. If you travel by car and you don‘t need to haul your bag for hours at a time, then I believe it‘s less of a concern. I personally always try to stay below 7 - 8 kg. Regarding the hardest adjustment - it was a process. I already did a video where I talk about my „bag evolution“: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYG0nntrqtF_osk 😅

@MaggiFuchs11 ай бұрын
I am extremely curious if it lives up to it‘s reputation. But I love and use their packing cubes since years, so I have high hopes. ;-) But the style of packing is totally different from what I am used to, so it will be a fun experiment. :)

Hi, thank you for the great review. Did you ever "check-in" the bag on a flight i.e. do you think it is robust/strong enough to "survive"?
@MaggiFuchs8 ай бұрын
I never tried it. My guess would be that the bag would survive it, it seems quite sturdy, but I am not sure about the contents inside the bag since there is not too much protection. 🤔 Depends if the content could survive being buried under other bags. 😁

Thanks for sharing! Mine are not easy to open, but I definitely can do it without pliers. Are both of them so hard to open? Maybe it would be worth reaching out to Nite Ize and see if you got a faulty model.
