spent 7 hours helping a friend with a Tesla . No spare tire , no wheel wrench and no jack . AAA refused to come , Private tow service wanted $1000 . He was lucky to find me .The tire was irreparable so off to the tire shop , then back to the car . Total driving time was 6 hours . Plus my American wrench didn't fit the lug bolts although Tesla was made in America . And cell phone service isn't available everywhere .

I purchased the tool and the cover came right off. When I put the cover back on, it just doesn't seem to snap back with the same strength that it had before I removed it. I wonder what I am doing wrong? It is definitely staying in place, but seems looser.

July 2024 Model Y owner. Mine came with some felt already but none on the tabs. Put felt on each of the tabs and the rattle went away. Such a cheap and easy fix. Thanks so much.

I’ve been driving from last 32 years. Drove a few makes and models of cars and currently driving a Model Y 2021. Never had this issue with any of my other cars. But why Tesla and KZbin is screening about this same problem over and over again . Why Tesla is not doing anything to get rid of this trouble or do they simply do not care?

I absolutely can not get the clips to reinstall the same way. The top two refuse to go in and seem to have a terrible angle

Thanks for the video but that isn't a hard reset. A hard reset is when you hold the scroll wheels down with the brake applied till the screen goes black and continue to hold until you see the Tesla logo. Then you can let go. That is a hard reset.

In Vermont, I take my Tesla through an underbody-rinse car wash every week in the winter, likely contributing to the water infiltrating the ball joint. This Spring, I rejuvenated the bushings with At-205 re-seal, and released the right-wheel ball joint and manually rotated it to get residual grease on the joint and it stopped squeaking for the past month. The left wheel started squeaking: I had tried rejuvenating the bushings alone on the left side and that was insufficient. I used a grease injection kit with water-resistant grease as well as the rotation on the left wheel ball-joint - complete silence on both sides. I'll report if one is worse for the wear than the other. This solution saved me well over a thousand dollars.

People love to hate on new stuff, there are guidelines and safety measures that they must follow to make a car commercially available. The location isn’t even in an odd place, it’s actually in a place where you’d rest your hand. Also, if you don’t read your vehicles manual when you get it, you’re dumb. ALWAYS READ THE MANUAL, it has some very useful information.

Thanks for this post. I have a 2024 Model Y that I just purchased in late March and the passenger side rattles from that area. I'll be taking it apart tonight to investigate. From another comment, apparently they are putting felt tape in there now, so hopefully I find something to correct it.
