I didnt know what "casting lots" meant til well into adulthood. More e.g: "We're not only selective, we're interpretative in our story". "Theological implications" "Incestual" "Genre" "Allegory; metaphorical" "Geneology" Etc.,

HP could actually quote the principle JD Vance espoused in response to Catholic bishop pushback; During an interview on Fox News, Vance discussed the fact that left-wing political pundits and influencers seem to care more about illegal immigrants than their fellow citizens who have been murdered or raped by illegal aliens. “There is something very deranged in the mind of the far left in this country, where I really do think they feel more of a sense of compassion for illegal aliens who have no right to be in this country than they do for their fellow citizens,” Vance said. “As an American leader, but also just as an American citizen, your compassion belongs first to your fellow citizens.” “It doesn’t mean that you hate people from outside of your own borders, but there is this old school - and I think it’s a very Christian concept, by the way - you love your family, and then you love neighbor, and then you love your community, and then you love your fellow citizens in your own country and then, after that, you can focus and prioritize the rest of the world,” he explained. “A lot of the far-left has completely inverted that, they seem to hate the citizens of their own country and care more about people outside their own borders. That is no way to run a society.”

*CONCERNING WHO WAS TAKEN AND WHO WAS LEFT!* *1. Don't just stare at the English translation of a text and draw hasty conclusions based on that.* The argument used here is an old one. It is based on Matthew 24:39-40 which was originally used together with the KJV version which looks like this: "and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and *TOOK* them all away." (Matthew 24:39) So the idea is that the word *"took"* in verse 39 and *"taken"* in verse 40 and 41 refers to the same thing. *IT DOESN'T!* The two words are not the same in the original Greek language (which is obviously what we would expect if Jesus' point was that those being "taken" refer to the same ones that the flood "took" away). The word "took" (as in "the flood took them away") is airō (G142 ) which is most often used when something is simply picked up and carried away. The word translated "taken" on the other hand (as in "one will be taken, the other left") is "paralambanō" (G3880), which suggests accompaniment: "to take to, to take *WITH one's self,* to *join to one's self".* It is the same word used in the following verses, among others: "Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and *took (G3880) unto him his wife"* (Matthew 1:24) And When he arose, he *took (G3880) the young child and his mother by night,* and departed into Egypt" (Matthew 2:14). *2. Don't assume that two verses following each other indicate that they are directly related to each other.* We cannot be certain that what Jesus said in verse 40 was immediately followed by what he said in 39. Why? Because in Luke 17:26-30 we see a whole string of verses SEPARATING these two verses. *3. Always use common sense!* If Jesus was referring to those taken in the flood of Noah, why would he say things like "one man would be in the field and the other left" or "one woman grinding in the mill would be taken and the other left" or "two would be in a bed but only one taken"? Is that what typically happens during a GLOBAL flood? Does floodwater jump up into a bed and selectively drown only ONE of the people sleeping there? Does it selectively drown one woman in a mill and spare the other? People please! Sometimes you need to do a quick test to make sure that the arguments you use even make sense.

I'll give the OP props for referencing Luke's writing of this event .... but he stops short ... he's right,, THAT is not the rapture. one taken/one left has been a bedrock reference for the gathering/rapture/harpazio (sp ... the greek word) this event is the gathering of the nephilim ... as it was the days of Noah nephilim. I believe it happens IMMEDIATELY prior to the Matt 24 "sign of the Son of Man in the sky" and His appearing (not the Second Coming), then the "Rapture" of 1 Thess 4:16-17, to end the battle of Armageddon. the Church gets a "10K'" view. the problem with pre-trib rapture is as has been commented ... prevents/inhibits the Matt 25 "get extra oil" BEFORE sunset (the tribulation) the same problem as saying there is no Rapture. There IS AND it'll be after the falling away from the Church AND the revelation of the man of lawlessness (antichrist).
@paulbrennan416314 сағат бұрын
@@shaark92 Contrary to what many people seem to believe, 2 Thessalonians 2 is a great chapter in support of a pre-trib rapture. Why? Because it demonstrates that Paul was _not_ previously teaching the Thessalonians that they would be going through the tribulation. Paul's intention with what he wrote in chapter 2 was to disprove false claim being made. And that claim wasn't that the rapture had to take place prior to these events, but that the day of the Lord had already begun. It is "that day" that cannot come until the falling away and the revelation of the antichrist - not the rapture. This becomes evident when we read the _rest_ of this passage because Paul goes on to point out even these events must be preceeded by the removal of the restrainer. We can be absolutely certain of this because it is the ONLY thing that makes sense. IF what Paul had been teaching them prior to this was that they were going to go through the tribulation then why on earth woud they be "alarmed and upset" by what the false teachers were saying? It would only have _confirmed_ what Paul had been teaching them. Surely, the fact that their redemption was drawing closer would have made them joyful and not upset. No, these people were upset because it contradicted what Paul had been teaching them - that they were not appointed to suffer wrath and that they would be raptured. I'm not sure what you mean by this: *"the problem with pre-trib rapture is as has been commented ... prevents/inhibits the Matt 25 "get extra oil" BEFORE sunset (the tribulation)".* I think you may be appealing to an argument that I heard only two days ago, but just to make sure, please give me the verse in question because I can't find the words "BEFORE sunset" anywhere in Matthew 24.
@shaark9214 сағат бұрын
@@paulbrennan4163 2 Thess 2:1 ... THE GATHERING unto Him is the reference. "that day" is the day that includes the "rapture" for which you're correct, the Thessalonians thought they'd missed it. Paul was saying "hasn't happened yet, and here are two events which will precede it." "before sunset" is my application based upon the fact the virgins sat in a window awaiting their bridegroom ... they wouldn't need a lamp during the day ... as it wouldn't highlight the lady in the window as it would at night.
@paulbrennan416313 сағат бұрын
@@shaark92 The closest antecedent to "that day" is the Day of the Lord. All verse 1 does is set the context for passage that follows. Also, the gathering and the Day of the Lord cannot possibly occur on the same day given what we know about the Day of the Lord. If you think that both occur simultaneously then just search for the term "Day of the Lord" in scripture and show me where any of them describe a rapture. What you will find instead is that every single reference to it, without a single exception, is utterly negative. If both of these events take place on the same day then wouldn't the Day of the Lord have to also be referred to as the "blessed hope" that all Christianity is looking forward to? Shouldn't we be longing for it? If this is when the rapture occurs then at the very least one would expect to see some hint of positivity about it. But take a look at this: *"Woe to you who long for the day of the Lord!* Why do you long for the day of the Lord? *That day will be darkness, not light."* (Amos 5:18) Two verses later he expands on this: "Will not the day of the Lord be darkness, *not light - pitch-dark, without a ray of brightness?"* (Amos 5:20) It's a bit funny how he goes to such length to point out that there is absolutely _nothing_ positive about that day. I don't know about you but it sure doesn't sound like the rapture to me. *""before sunset" is my application based upon the fact the virgins sat in a window awaiting their bridegroom ... they wouldn't need a lamp during the day ... as it wouldn't highlight the lady in the window as it would at night."* That is exactly the same argument I heard the other day, only the word "midnight" was used. So let me just paste in my response to this: QUOTE: "Firstly, you cannot base your position on one word in a parable that obviously wasn't given to us in order to indicate when the rapture OR the tribulation would occur. You are reading way too much into it. There is nothing whatsoever that indicates that the word "midnight" has to do with the tribulation. The darkness explains the sleepiness of the virgins and is _already_ here in the present age. Secondly, rather than trying to make a parable say what you want it to say, why not read the rest of what Jesus had to say about his return - this time in relatively plain language: "Therefore keep watch because *_you do not know_** when the owner of the house will come back* - whether in the evening, *OR AT MIDNIGHT,* or when the rooster crows, or at dawn." (Mark 13:35)" END OF QUOTE. Now this is a HUGE problem for post-tribbers. How can Jesus possibly come at a time when no one expects him if he comes at the end of the tribulation? Even if you cut the tribulation in half - which in itself I think is a "half truth". He will still come at a time you expect him to. The ONLY view that makes sense of this is if he comes BEFORE the tribulation. Both the post- and mid-trib view are designed to induce sleepiness - convincing people that they have time to have one eye on the signs before they clean up their act. That is the sad truth.

Some thoughts. Reading thru the EO. A waiver is provided for, so is World Relief seeking one? Efficiency. Part of the pause was to ensure efficient use of resources. Has World relief opened up their books how the funds are being used, especially private donations?Their financial statement showed $90+ million to US operations for 4000 refugees. This comes out to $22,500/person. Further transparency is needed I think and maybe that would help with a waiver if World can show certain $ will only go to specific needs. For example, it’s reported that World promotes programs for family planning (includes birth control pills and “emergency contraceptives”. I’m guessing that even World Relief would understand that among many evangelicals, this would cause reservations about giving to them.

You are using a watered down Bible hence your conclusions. If you use King James Version (KJV1611) you'll probably understand teachings of rapture in the Bible. Or your aren't a Christian (not saved) just reading Bible like another text book with no spiritual discernment and presenting an argument merely from Godless intellectual perspective to convince your audience. It's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God.

Republicans during my lifetime are associated with wealth and democrats represent everyone else. When it comes to God/Jesus/etc, they are democratic in their messaging. Republicans and keeping wealth is what Satan would co-sign. Nobody needs to be excessively rich, that's a sin in itself. So the while black Christian's voting vs white Christian's voting has nothing to do with what you saying. It's who actually believes and follows scripture? Is Scripture for everyone or just God's people? Who is gods people? The Bible actually says who is and who isn't. And the problem today is there's more people who isn't... preacher the word causing confusion/disillusions. Why is Jesus portrayed as white exclusively in American Catholic Churches? Angel's, Saints. Bible says different but why the change? And if you ask this specific question the reply will be Why does color matter? You tell me, you the one who changed it, then told us it's a sin to draw images. Is it now? Or, is it forbidden so you can believe what they selling you 😮 Let me put the answer to the question this way. I never voted because I know it's rigged. Malcolm X knew this as well. And of I was rich? I wouldn't sit on my money, I'd help people. It's a sin to just hold on to massive amounts of money. I would be a Democrat if I had to be anything. If I was less in tune with God and was greedy? I only care about a bigger refund and not care what that party does to achieve it. Saying more white Christian's are Republican is telling about that group. But it's no news to us. Evangelicals in particular stick out as crazed republicans. I can't stop thinking and laughing about Rosanne Barr screaming we want the truth!!!'

If my memory serves me right, I believe the bible states "Christ's Church" will not experience the Tribulation times (God's Wrath), Christ's Church will be "caught up" (Harpazo-Greek/Raptured-English) before such times. That's why the "pre-tribulation" Church is not mention in Revelation Tribulation events, they are already with Christ. Believers/Saints will be with Jesus when he returns for the second coming "on" earth. That said, during the actual Tribulation, with the help of the two witnesses sent by God, those who repent, accept Christ and adhere to Bible scripture (as written) will have a path to God's Kingdom on "The Day of the Lord" (the second coming). Ref: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l33WfoiCgtKffac and kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6KvoY2IfLKsgqc and kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHq2Y4J4gddoo9E Think about it. What is the sure-fire way to cause total civil chaos/unrest resulting in the largest global Tribulation of all time. In the twinkle of an eye, a huge disappearance of people all around the world. Then arrives the antichrist to "supposedly" save the day. Don’t miss the Rapture bus, it will be Hell on earth for seven years.

As a conscientious and often self-righteous follower of Jesus (I just wanna be worth it on my own, you Bidk now?), this claim irks me so, yet I have found it true in my life. I've learned that we all carry different burdens differently, and my burdens may be light as a feather to those around me but weigh me down with the weight of the world, and sometimes their soul-crushing weight is just a normal Tuesday for me, so it makes pragmatic sense to be there for your people, your family, your church, even if weren't Jesus' commandments. But the first steps, the effort and the bravery and the hope and the vulnerability to risk exposing your innermost weak self... that strength is afforded by Christ Jesus, in his Resurrection, Death, AND His Life!
