❤after listening I may get this book! I love the discernment part. I was waiting for your Holy Spirit part. In the past , It just happened . This has been so different since Trump, covid, death... poltics. I was told maybe 10 or 12 times personally or overalll that voting democrat would send me straight to hell. I know better, but oh my, I never relized anyone thought like that. ??? Also, I've felt so guilty not being involved like I should. We are going back now, but this book sounds healing. Im glad it wasn't just me. Praise the Lord

Choosing to drive rather than walk - doesn't prove anticipation, it proves the rats have gotten lazy, just like humans. Wait for a closer parking space rather than just walk a little farther and get it done faster? Yes please.

tldr: The Holy Posters should first look into some of Bishop Barron’s books, then invite him on for a discussion. I think Kaitlyn would appreciate Bishop Barron the most. Her affinity for Augustine would complement his love of Aquinas. The two of them together in dialogue would be amazing! I first became aware of BISHOP Barron when he was FATHER Barron, producing videos to explain the Catholic faith to adults coming into the Church. He has a way of explaining complicated theology in a way that is understandable without being oversimplified. He is the Fulton Sheen of our times, using the modern medium of the internet rather than the radio and TV of Sheen’s era. Bishop Barron isn’t catering to young men. He isn’t belittling the role of women in the Church. He isn’t saying that the feminine side of the Church should be abandoned. The Church NEEDS the love and forgiveness and ecumenicalism that became the focus of the Catholic Church in America in the 70’s and 80’s. But just like Ephesians teaches us about the complementary nature of women and men, the Church must be protective and strong, while being compassionate, gentle, and nurturing. The post-Vatican II Church in America forgot how to be direct and resolute. The Catholic Church forgot to teach other virtues that help build our faith and protect us from the deceiver. Bishop Barron also recognizes that some are led to Christ by the intellect first, and then give him their heart. And Bishop Barron recognizes that before someone can say “I BELIEVE what the Church teaches,” that person must KNOW and UNDERSTAND what the Church teaches. So many times while listening to the Holy Post or Curiously Kaitlyn, I think Phil, Skye, and Kaitlyn are closer to the truth in Catholicism than they realize, and if Bishop Barron were in the room with them, there would be a lot of head nods and shouts of agreement. At the very least, it would be a lively discussion.

At 57 Ive saw the church with basic carpet , pews, lit up , fans , air condition, stain glass and older beautiful churches. A rounded type newer Baptist church, with bad accostics. An older church that zi was an active member of that sadly you could still see part of the outline where the stairs for African Americans in slave or not days went We didnt do that but had very few black people in Central Ky.. Until now my Christian church Was more basic 1990 style and it is darker, but lightt and dark and not too dark to take notes. We have greeting time. But i do go to church with about 1/ 4 th African Americans too. And our main non denominational Christian churches are blending more and more. It is dark and the seats arent comfy but I love it and worship with a blended community.. I accept and pray we are relavent to bring the new Generation to Jesus. Prayed over I know. I do think God will move you to the right church. Always feel Gods prayer. Idk really about the topic of all churches look the same Some of the order of service is in scripture. God will lead you. It is darker.. and I understand your seperate worship part. But well lit in the past can mean, paying attention to people and gossip and what they have on or their kids behaving.. So renewing our mind. I also think now we have more ways to share Jesus than ever. Pray for truth.

Father Casey over at “Breaking in the Habit” does what you all do from a Catholic perspective better than any other KZbinr in my opinion.
@jonnett9848
@jonnett9848 Ай бұрын
Fr. Casey is great at short Catholic apologetics. Bishop Baron is fantastic at deeper theology, especially Aquinas. And it fits their vocations - one a Franciscan called to walk among the people, the other a former rector at Mundelein Seminary now a Bishop called to teach the faith to his diocese.

Yeshua has given us His peace. And that is our sanctuary. A church sanctuary is the place of the peace of Yeshua. To disturb that peace is never profitable.

Maybe there is a connection there about Bible reading and the rats, something about anticipating the reading and how building dopamine pathways connected to scripture can help when the passage is tough or it might be less efficient than having someone interpret it for you

You meditate on giving all year...not just this time..because Christmas as Paul said about the Feast days, he'd probably say about Christmas, that its a Secular holiday and had nothing to do with Christ and the reason Christians started partaking and adding Christian beliefs is because they didnt want to be left out of Cultural things

I would make a slightly different conclusion about the rat study. People who are more resilient, patient, and better at tolerating frustration, are happier. I think children whose parents help them tolerate uncomfortable boring areas of life foster contentedness. (Rather than allowing them immediate and constant gratification and impulsiveness). The rat study results allude to lack of impulsiveness, but I think it's less about "positive thinking" and anticipation.

Ill give two takes on this catholic influencer they talked about: a) theres a completely secular (or at least generally disinterested in faith) element of uber-traditionalists who see Christianity as the Traditional Cultural Faith Identity of The Glorious and Superior Western Culture (!!!). Theres also a market in western Christianity right now that requires everyone to take a side in the culture war, or be left in the dust, regardless of any interest they actually have in it. This is why we get Ken Hamm cozying up to gross patriarchs and racists. He doesnt actually give a crap about them, imho, hes just trying to keep his ministry alive.

Neither of these takes fit Bishop Barron. He is only interested in teaching the world about the Catholic faith.

❤ the Bible study discussion. But the verse,The Bible is alive and active as a 2 edge sword. .. Is huge and very true. Those in Christ and with the Holy Spirit may read something one time and it means something and another time and means something else. That verse and truth is HUGE!! I love the Bible Hebrews 4:12

Hey Holy Post producer...maybe turn off comments? These seem mostly from people looking for fodder to kvetch about. For us who come for lighthearted fun mixed with honest discussions about discipleship, a stroll through the comments can be disheartening.
