Used force fins for 15 years. Will never go back to regular fins. They are much better in every phase for diving. You just need to get used to the light feeling

I have > 500 dives logged on paper. I keep the logs in binders and scanned in my Dropbox. They do come in handy for finding old dive buddies, seeing what temps were and how much weight I used. Plus, they are great prods to memory. Plus, the act of writing the log reinforces the process of reflecting on what went right and what went wrong on the dive, leading to seeing what you can learn from the experience. That said, I have the electronic log, too.

Last time I used a yoke regulator was when my tank o-ring blew at 100' down on a night dive in cold water beach dive in California. Converted my reg to DIN and haven't regretted it for a second, even 400+ dives later.

@jika134

Remember You can use the yoke as most of us do as a weight for automatic door closing, it is cheap it only requires 2 screws a nylon cord and 1 to 2 Yoke. So even a Yoke can be used for something 🙂

If for u just o ring problem you have problem. As diver you should have spare one. I use steel. And normal pressure not higher 220 bar. Sow it's illusions. a bad dancer is hindered by his balls

More over u did not say that there is 2din types. Low pressure 232bar and hight 300bar. Sow generally speaking u lier. And if compear prise 300bar cost much more.

And wording "heavy" is at least strange. U grab belt with as example 8-12 kg. Sow it's not heavier. Total weight for u will be the same. Just grab less kg on belt.

In Galena, Ks there's a stop along part of the original Route 66 caled Cars On The Route that's a cute place to go for anyone who's a fan of Route 66. A few miles away in a small township called Riverton, there's a little store called Nelson's Old Riverton Store that's not only a teeny, tiny deli/store, but also a gift store for Route 66 merchandise. Also in Riverton is the last remaining Route 66 rainbow bridge. If they still have it open, you can actually drive across it. My dad is from Riverton. So ive been to all of these places. That's how I became a fan of Route 66 and its history.

The only thing where it has a (very slight) advantage is when students tighten too much. You have less of a chance of getting the regulator stuck with yoke. But yeah, DIN is superior, we pretty much only use DIN in Northern Europe.

As a brand new scuba diver, I brought that for between din and yolk to dive center, and I kid you not that was the exact reason I went with a yolk stage one was that it was more common around the world but now that I see that there is a yoke adapter for the DIN I will be switching over my stage, one to be more versatileI really appreciate this video and information

Buy that u wanna buy. Do not listen overs. This is the first thing u should know from school. Total mass for u same. Less kg on belt. Pressure for din 232 and 300 sow 300 more expensive. For yoke 233. Same view on aggs from side. U could change connector from yoke to din. Yes it will cost but you could. Take that is comfortable for u.
@amberman9153

More over it does not matter din or yoke u should have spare o rings. Not to interrupt diving. I have both din and yoke. And I use din only as backup at diving below 20 m. rubber bands are consumables

The thing is.. it's not more common. The only places that maybe still use more Yoke is the US and vacation destinations that get 99% american rec divers as customers. Everyone else uses DIN. Because it's better.

I'm certified and I got my own gear 4 years ago. I made sure to get DIN. I had my own cylinder. Now, I live overseas so I sold the cylinder but took everything with me. DIN just makes more sense, especially on the cylinder. If someone has yoke, use the pro valve. If you're on a boat and all cylinders are yoke, use the adapter. I always have one with me when I travel. Yoke is like the imperial system. People like it because that's what they're familiar with. Nobody outside of America uses it

Grand Cayman is loaded with shops that only use yoke. I use DIN at home in the north with 3500 psi tanks, and often use yoke in the tropics because it is more common depending on where you are. You can't knock the fact the yoke has worked well for decades and in over 50 years of diving I have never heard of yoke failing if it sealed up ok on pressure up. Which do I prefer? why DIN of course ...!

I use Force Fin Pro when shore diving here in Southern California, because it's much easier to put them on when walking into the surf. For flutter kick they work better than my larger Deep 6 Eddie fins.

Here’s a question: what is it whit this obsession with large fin’s? They are, in my experienced opinion, only good for transportation swimming and if you don’t have very strong legs they won’t give you more power or speed then you get with short fin’s, not to mention the impaired manuvreybillity whit large fin’s compared to short fin’s. Btw, haven’t been out fined yet 😁
