iPad screen is black! Thanks for posting this. It was helpful. I can't get my iPads to work properly,. They show up in the scene field and I can toggle front/back screens. But the screens are black. I've given all the proper permissions to access the camera on each. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app twice on each. Same result. iPhones connect and are a breeze. What am I doing wrong with my ipads???A

Another is, as you mentioned, their suggestion that they essential own anything that goe s on their app. The last is their insistence that you use their creative crowd storage which give them total control of anything you put there. As Affinity (Serif) has been purchased by Canva, a company that works on a subscription model, the one time purchase may not last forever

If you have already a Apple device, it has good built in AI stuff on it, so until Affinity brings this feature, it is good option. My guess Affinity V3 will have this forsure

One weird thing I noticed is when I change my 4k time line to 1080p my colour grade Luts actually change. It goes super red and saturated. Caught me out for a bit and as soon as I went back to 4k the Luts looked perfect

Adobe crashes even on the most powerful hardware. It has too many bugs and still isn’t fully optimized. Industries rely on it because their IT teams know how to maintain it and prevent crashes, as they understand the software's algorithms. As a home user, I don’t have time to deal with all that-I just want something that works. AP is solid software.

I'm coming from Premiere Pro & Sony Vegas Pro editor and begin working in broadcast industry. Cutting with AVID is a real struggle at the beginning, after 7 years in the industry. AVID is still my first choice for editing, even though there's a transition to Premiere Pro.

Longtime Adobe user, core product is fine but the suite has become bloated and the cloud sync tools are shxt, mostly complicating workflow, easier to just use Dropbox 😂 I’m sure there’s some hi level needs for a small group of advanced users but for general office work I’ve managed to get what I need, almost all freeware, this one might be the one I pay for 😂

Is it worth it to learn all of the traditional editing terminology (like trim, slip, etc.)? And then learn to use the cut page? I haven't done it in five years of DR use, but I'm always down for saving time.

I started out with Photoshop Version 2.5 on floppy disks when you had to scan a negative or a photo print with a flatbed scanner to get your file! I actually helped Adobe with Lightroom Alpha testing and suggested the Delete or X option which they introduced (not in the same way as I suggested!) I was really disappointed to see them go down the £10 a month subscription path, my model was to buy the full version and upgrade every other version when there was sufficient features to justify - we are talking a couple of hundred quid to upgrade. I guess they ran out of killer features to entice the likes of me. So I gave Affi out Photo a go, they are based in Nottingham and I’ve had great customer support from them. It is a bargain for what you get. Especially at a PS style suite of programs Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark XPress in one super value bundle. Sorry I sound like they’re paying me to advertise (they aren’t!) just buy it!

After >20 years using PS I changed from Windows to Linux Mint and from PS to Gimp. If missing Camera Raw, "Dark Table" is a competitive alternative. I still miss the unique, great Texttool of PS, but this is the only feature I miss (and of course the workflow, too). I copied the picture from Your video to Gimp and let the lens vanish by "health" function: the result was perfect! Unfortunally "Affinity Photo" doesn't exist natively for Linux. At "Reddit" they told, it should work with "Wine". Maybe the Affinity gives us the mercy and extend to Linux. Or Gimp3 with the improved texttool finally comes.
