Amber Robotics team, this is a final wake-up call, we backers have been patient with you enough. I urge you to do the right thing and start the deliveries for the kickstarter backers who have paid you their hard earned money through the Lucid L1 project on kickstarter, else you have lost your face in all the global markets from where your majority revenue comes. It will be a sad day to see a promising company go down because of sheer dishonesty and greed. Having said that i promise you we will make it our mission to bring peoples attention that your company has scammed the very community that invested and supported you to grow; we will ensure you will eventually face the justice.

Thank you for showing this. I have been investigating the same kind of problem with brushed DC motors and have been looking into how encoders perform. I think the problem here is depending on the encoders performance and how they are used. I can see, that at least some of the controllers, that you show, do use an encoder, but do they all three got an encoder? One step could be to record the encoder type on each case - I should like to know that. When you read the signal from a magnetic angle encoder, you need to be aware, that it measures the magnetic signal at its own measuring cycle with its own cycle time at about 100 us. This can create variations due to how you interpret time between two measured angles. When you read the angle with only a little time difference, then you will get a substantial relative noise in calculated difference angle of the two very close angles. I recorded a similar video of very low speed on a DC motor with another micromotor as encoder: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaGYZp2wqdh8bpI

How did you get to run the motor at low speed with the mini cheetah controller? Cause I tried adjusting the velocity but the motor always goes max speed. Is it true that the mini cheetah controller only offers torque control mode?

wow, really nice structure overall. Maybe try to reinforce the top plate with a screwed or slotted profile... By the way, what would be the total cost to have it fully operating, considering controller and claw?

I mean, cool, but it is so easily back drivable, there is not way that could be practically used to exert force on anything. Unless the motor was freaking huge and could provide enough resistance to prevent it from being back driven, but this video fails to really demonstrate that.

I don't know if this has been thought of or covered before, but an accelerometer to provide position feedback at the arm might allow it to compensate for all the compliance in the actuatror plus any flex in the beam.

Excellent information and your projects are great, inspired by your projects, I bought a RMD X8 Pro Actuator but I have not been able to make it work with the configurator, I believe it is because of the version of the CP210 drivers, could you tell me where you downloaded the software from? I am using windows 11
