You only get one set of eyeballs, and the light that these diodes produce is strong, not blocked, and incredibly dangerous. As someone whose day job involved these and other lasers for a while, *please* don't risk it. Get tested and rated goggles, and build an enclosure.

I wouldn't trust the glasses alon, who knows if they are up to spec? Build an enclosure that emits no light and equip the laser with a safety switch so it can't turn on without the enclosure. Or risk losing your eyesight...

get some goggles from a reputable brand, it's what i did for my fiber laser. not cheap but you only get one pair of eyes innit. even with those goggles i'm scared to look at it when it's operational lol; i still tend to look away

@@ikbendusan I agree, but if the manufacturer changes the laser so it doesn't have the same wavelength the goggles might not work. I would put it in a non light emitting enclosure. That could also be an easy way to collect the fumes and ventilate out of the room. Don't take chances with your eyesight! Eeek!

really nice package, looks like it has a lot of nice features but once again with all these cheap laser cutters/engravers there is zero thoughts about safety it seems. The little red shield is a joke with all the reflections coming out the sides and the fact that the glasses aren't the same color as the shield means one of them isn't the right spec for the laser wavelength, very scary stuff. On the website it does seem like they at least tried to implement some sort of alarm and detection of weird behaviors but idk how reliable those are.

My D1 pro won't engrave aluminium like a dog ID tag. What are your settings to do it? I do select the material and the dog bone out of the drip down menu, but it's not engraving. Thank you.

Superb. Can you engrave airpods pro 2 cases? I know Apple does it for USA customers but not on all countries. This can be really helpful if it is possible to engrave emojis or text on the airpods cases. Please try it. (if it works, it can be a hit video. If it doesn't work, you can lose an airpods case :D)

These things should be illegal. NEVER EVER run those inside without proper ventilation (open window is not good enough), never use it when in the same room, don't trust those "protections", never run it unattended, a huge fire hazard. Yes this is conflicting, so the only resolution is to not run it at all! Build a proper exhaust and a light tight enclosure and it might be a very dangerous toy. But my 2 Cents: send it back and get one with a proper enclosure and proper safety equipment and a proper laser output, those 20w are a lie. Maker's Muse made good safety videos of those toys. Watch them and give this thing back as long as you still have two eyes and a working lung.
