9:00 I love that you acknowledge this aspect. My loved ones care about me, but they are dealing with their own issues and often have a limited or inconsistent ability to offer support. I want to get better at meeting my own needs and caring for my body and mind.

I think this advice is useful for people whether they are neurodivergent, or not. Learning how we want to use our planners and what we want to get out of them is huge, along with respecting our current process - having a periodic evaluation of what is/isn't working currently is a great addition to any planning system. *One thing I changed in my planner considerations was spurred by watching videos about sewing and craft rooms. In addition to deciding I did NOT want anything beyond the most functional and serene and uncluttered version of a sewing spot, I realized that I did NOT want to end up with a shelf full of planners! So I re-designed my monthly spreads. *One of my planner must-have's is a two-page monthly spread to visually see the scope of the month. I have been printing my own design using OneNote for these pages but now I realize that I want to do them all on decent-weight paper, continuously, instead of with places to write other things on the backs of the spread: I'll gather these into a memory binder for future reference and/or enjoyment, and let the rest of the material go in due time. The front and back of the monthly spreads wasn't useful to me anyway, the place where you usually write upcoming dates, goals for the month, hopes for the next month, how I felt about things, and a diary of events or ideas - no, just not working for me in that location - so it wasn't a good use of space in a lean memory book. *(what happens to the other stuff? If I don't toss it in a day or a week, I use Freedom Filer's archive rotation folders to cue my pre-decided dates to purge paperwork). *I love learning more than I love planning and execution, so I focus on baby-steps and reminders to get tedious things done *I love a good timer for switching from sedentary to active tasks *I currently use Omnifocus on iPhone (old, non-subscription version) for capture, linking to a digital calendar, and to add reminders of when to pack the car, when to leave, when to wake up for a leisurely morning vs a stressed one, order steps for projects, and for its easy search features. It also has great tagging, so I can tag all my agreements for example, or every new cool exercise I discover online that I want to incorporate later. Text replacement lets me use naming conventions as well, so I can see everything related to a particular function or project with a simple search. perspectives let me group all of a set of tasks and order by due date, added date, project, and multiple other parameters. *I also realized that I don't like to be wasteful, so pre-dated weekly and daily planners aren't for me, except for the monthly spread. While I like pretty planner pages, I often end up just jotting my choices on "scratch" paper for the day - or printing them onto "scratch" paper because I type faster than I write. That page might work for me for 2 or 3 days, marking things off and adding others as needed. *OneNote 2010 is VERY useful for helping me print just the next action(s) of assorted projects, or complete projects, as I need it. While Omnifocus is wonderful for projects, OneNote is better for me for visualizing big, long projects in their entirety. They often start in OneNote and then to Omnfocus in smaller bite sizes. *I also realized that I don't like to rewrite things endlessly, and that my handwriting can't be read as quickly as printed material. I also use it to print routines that are helpful to post for reference in the kitchen, bathroom, desk - for routines in those places. Those may update periodically due to seasonally extreme weather, houseguests, health challenges, and are easy to adjust and reprint. *I'm definitely a ruh-roh when it comes to buying too many planners, but tbh - I like variety in my covers, lol. Leathers, Poly, laminated cardstock, disc bound, soft folio, etc. Pretty dividers to repurpose by covering with attractive papers, or unique labels. *I learned which sizes of planners fit into my purse or tote. *trying out different planners helped me learn that I don't love vertical planners with narrow writing area. *They also helped me learn that I don't like pre-planned perpetual calendars that don't allow enough lines for days with multiple birthdays and have to be rewritten every year anyway. Easier to type up and print and edit for reprinting each year! *I saw that if I got a paper trimmer, I could turn FREE scratch paper into printable pages for different sized planners while listening to tv or audio - very fun to design and print pages, or just to keep spitting out current to-do lists as completed items fall off, and new ones become available. Right now I use OneNote 2010 for projects with GTD-style "next action" lists, and OneNote current versions for professional-looking calendars and other layouts using text boxes and auto-fill feature. *Once a year I update my monthly spread, just did it for 2025 (I created templates that start each month on a different day of the week, so its easy each year to copy and adjust those quickly and easily for any month of the year). Maybe in future I'll learn Canva, but for now I have no need to do that. And now that I have procrastinated, I will go do some filing work - I'm going through old files to scan and file, or scan and purge. Too much paper. No fun. Thanks for the break!

Got diagnosed on Tuesday, i’m only 13 and quite upset that i’ll be this way forever. I don’t fit into a certain type, i was just diagnosed with EDS because i have a ton of symptoms. I have low blood pressure which is a big burden because it plummets so easily, my stamina is awful and i feel so frail (i’m on the thinner side and i feel my joints all the time. They hurt, yes, but i’m also hyperaware of them i can hear them creaking and its horrible.) Luckily i havent had any dislocations yet, but i know it’ll get worse as i grow and the risk will increase. I also have chronic fatigue as well as pain in muscles and joints.

To summarize: An excellent accountability partner should be 1) completely invested in you and your goals, 2) skilled in all things coaching, project management, and overall impeccable productivity habits, and 3) have the emotional, mental, and physical capacity to support your goals. These seems noble enough, but per her description, it is nearly impossible to find an excellent accountability partner. She recommends you sign up for her coaching program instead. I recommend you go call a friend with the 00:08:42 you just saved. You’re welcome.

Haven’t finished the video yet but I want to make sure I don’t forget to comment! I. LOVE. THIS. This is what I’ve been looking for!!! You are SO right! There’s such huge wealth of information in the productivity space that’s so useful, but it often (always) just doesn’t seem exactly useful for me! Bits and pieces are useful for me, sure, and definitely a lot more so on days when I have a lot of spoons. Usually something just feels a little off for my needs. But yours is the first video that I’ve seen that’s addressing this issue! Thank you! I feel so validated and not crazy. I would love more videos like this, translating neuronarrow advice for a more diverse audience.

Edit to add: Not really about the video, but just a random thought about typical productivity advice is that it typically assumes that people have their daily life admin stuff down pat. And they’re just trying to add on top of it. And the disconnect for me is that, while yes, I have lots of goals and ideas and passions I would love to explore, honestly my biggest productivity goals tend to be other people’s normal. I literally just want to do my job, pay my bills, and take care of my house without being exhausted all the time 😂 Do I also want to write a novel? Sure. But that conversation has to be within the confines of “How are you going to write your novel and keep doing everything else without having a breakdown?” Where as I feel like it’s usually given as a “cut time here, do this here instead, and write the book during these time slots”. And I have a heck of a time trying to get that advice to work with me, because my routines are so fragile and my energy levels are not currently very predictable. Wow that ended up being a ramble, but I was just so inspired by the video ^_^

a good water bottle it doesn't even have to be an expensive one, but this is also very lifestyle dependent so definitively check in with the person electrolyte/flavour packs for water i'm really struggling with drinking plain water but i also didn't want to drink a lot of juice because it's just too much sugar for me. but my friend with diabetes introduced me to flavour powders for water that are sugarfree and now i actually drink enough. the ones i get are called insticks, i don't know if they ship outside of germany/europe but i'm sure you can find something similar masks + accessories i'm also still masking and you can never have too many ffp2 masks, or maybe the person wants to upgrade to something like a flo mask. i've also seen people starting to accessorise masks more with cute chains, that is also a nice gift option and could even be made by you

This may be a bit random, but it would be interesting to see your reaction to various productivity videos and explain why those tips do and don’t work for you. I’m not sure if it aligns with how your channel mission or not but I thought I’d put it out there since I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts, and I figured I’d be a great way to delve into your productivity style vs someone else’s.

You aren't alone in your covid cautiousness! (*cue the "There are dozens of us! Dozens!" meme*) My husband and I still mask regularly, and we use antiviral nasal spray - e.g., Enovid - whenever we go out for anything other than a nature-y walk (fortunately this isn't often, so it doesn't cost us much to stay protected). From what I've read, the longer-term risks of contracting covid are higher for folks like us, so we do what we can to avoid it.

Something totally free that helped me lately is a water tracking app with customizable reminders. I don’t stay hydrated enough on my own so it’s been super helpful. It even adjusts based on how hydrating a specific drink is.

Pregnancy body pillow. So wonderful! It cradles me on all sides and allows for different sleeping positions without needing five different pillows. A bedside light with adjustable tones and brightness and direction. I’ve always been weird about light. I’ve usually preferred to be in the dark, but I got a floor lamp with a gooseneck and a lot of settings. It allows me to pick a kind of light that is comfortable for me. I turn it away so it’s diffused most of the time, but when I need to look at something hard to see I turn it back. Get an adjustable phone holder for next to/on their bed. Do not get one of the goose neck wire ones (the wire breaks if you adjust it frequently). It allows me to watch something on my phone while keeping my hands free and allows me to have different positions while reading on my phone.

No, no one has ever mentioned it to me. But as I said it has been going on for 13 years. We thought maybe food allergies shellfish, but no I still had the problem. I have been to different doctors and none of them has every mentioned MALS. Some doctors even made me feel like they didn't believe me until I would pass out. So heart breaking to think they thought I was over reacting. Also, I do have a heart murmur and VSD.

Oh my gosh. I came upon this by accident. I have been living with pain for 13 years so severe that I have passed out. Sometimes the pain is so bad that I end up in the ER and they tell me it is IBS. I complain about the same pain as described here. I am going to set up an appt with my doctor and discuss this.

I read Pete Walker's book years ago and felt more traumatized by it than I had been before. I may give it another look. The thing that upset me the most was reading about how he still (breaks down and) cries. I thought, is there no hope for me here; will I always feel depressed and miserable? Who needs this? I may not have been ready for the book. I had only just discovered that what I suffered from was C-PTSD.
