Absolutely beautiful work!!! Do you know if the UV protection is above average? Im about to apply this coating on a 10 year old Audi SQ5 which stays outside. Living in southeast Louisiana, the car gets it all - extreme heat and humidity, water spots (1 reason I chose this product), pollen, bird poo - you name it. Thanks again Andrew (:
@thecarboutique246710 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching the video and leaving such a positive comment. Regarding UV protection I have to say it is very very difficult to assess the effectiveness against other coatings. So much so I cannot answer that question. I would say that DIY are a reputable brand so I have every confidence that it has been designed with this in mind. One of the main benefits of ceramic coating is the UV protection and like I said, I am sure DIY have this covered. Drop a post in the comments after you have used it as it is always interesting to hear how others get on with products I review. All the best and thanks again. 🌝

I'm really trying my best to watch this video objectively, and I've never used any of these products yet. But I must say, the Swissvax seems to have that little bit extra richness/ depth and gloss. Which is not easy to see through a camera. Great video!
@thecarboutique246717 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. Doing a review on Swissvax is always difficult because a lot of people are just ready to critique the price. It can be argued that there are waxes on the market that do a similar and sometimes better job in terms of the performance criteria at a considerably lower price. Putting this aside, I derive a lot of enjoyment using this brand as there is something special knowing you are using a brand with history, and it is essentially a luxury item. I do agree that their waxes are a pleasure to use and do seem to have something special in terms of that deep, rich, warm glow. Thanks for leaving a comment including the positive feedback.

@thecarboutique246719 күн бұрын
Hiya buddy. I do believe there are differences in wax colour but irrespective of colour, the wax performs the same. I have tested hundreds of waxes and never found that the colour of a wax makes any difference to performance in terms of the final finish. Case in point is the soft99 waxes that profess to be tailored for light and dark cars. I tested these and found no difference. Hope this helps.

@thecarboutique246719 күн бұрын
Hiya buddy. When it comes to wax I do have a bit of an addiction. For me it is not just about the wax performance albeit this is very important. Other variables are the packaging, ease of application and removal, the business ethics of the brand, the story behind the brand, the quality of the pour, and the quality of the ingredients. M&K offer something for all budgets. The Core range have predominantly petroleum based carriers but some have high percentages of Carnauba wax giving a lovely glow. As you go towards the more expensive waxes the carriers switch to high quality oils that are chosen to add key performance benefits. These oils are not just to suspend the wax in a form that can be spread but actually add something to the user experience, ease of application, durability and of course final finish. A key USP is that all M&K waxes are easy to use and even in the coldest environments, these waxes seem to be relatively easy to apply and remove. Keep up the good work and keep that collection growing. Cheers.

Always happy to help especially when it comes to wax. If you are into your waxes I have to remain impartial so I highly recommend you also looking at waxes from HB Sauce Custom Waxes Creations and Fireball. Both are excellent waxes and carry my full endorsement. They are higher on the price entry level but their waxes are stunning across all performance criteria. The majority of my wax collection is M&K, HBS, Fireball, Spashan, Bouncers, ODK, Wax Gurus and Infinity Wax. There are more but these are the brands that spring to mind.

Can Cupido be used as a topper to a ceramic coating or is it a bad idea?
@thecarboutique246719 күн бұрын
Hiya buddy. I can see no reason why you could not use Cupido as a topper however, I am a purest and do not usually have anything on top of my ceramic coatings. I can understand why people may want to do this but I want to enjoy the benefits of a coating and not cover them up with another product. It is definitely an individual preference as to whether you use toppers or not.
@AdamosGarage19 күн бұрын
@@thecarboutique2467 I understand where you’re coming from and I agree, I was just thinking it as a sacrificial layerz so due to the harsh winters we get here in 🇨🇦. My car takes a beating wish all the salt and grime. 👊🏼
@thecarboutique246719 күн бұрын
I do agree with you on this buddy. As a sacrificial layer over Winter there is no reason why you should not use toppers. Further, over time your ceramic coating will get clogged so rather than have to do a dedicated decon wash everytime to restore hydrophobicity, it does make sense to apply something to help this function out. If you can help your coating out over Winter then yes I would agree that any help is welcome.

I have used work stuff detailing brushes for years. Stiff to soft brushes and I have to say they are very good but I have had quite a few fail. Normally the bristle shrouding at the top comes loose and the round handle ones can become quite slippy so they are good but they’re far from perfect. I have to say for doing emblems on cars etc are using an incredibly soft Detailing brush and I use the same make and kind of brush on my alloy wheelsand to my amazement. I am now two years in and using the same brush and to be fair, my works brush didn’t last that long.

For this reason we will revisit all the kit tested in a future video so we can detail the longevity of the kit and if we experience any issues after prolonged use. Cheers.

The only brush I use to clean emblems etc is like a makeup brush. Wouldn't use any stiffer bristled ones on the paint at all, or the wheels for that matter
@thecarboutique2467Ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. As a general rule I would tend to agree and regarding brushes from some manufacturers I would agree that the make-up style brushes are quote 'safer'. Albeit I agree with you on a general rule, the brushes we used during this test did not scratch the paint or wheels. I suppose the advice to a beginner would be to use the softest brushes albeit at the detriment of sometimes not having the purchase to really clean the intricate areas around badges etc where the dirt can get ingrained. Cheers.
