You need a basket or the like with the aluminium in it to lower into the water and remove if you want to stop the reaction. Also use on a larger 240v generator to attain a higher voltage and current or to just run a motor like a lawnmower engine. Running an 11 watt bulb is insufficient for the trouble. To gain 1.5 or 2Kw of power would be really great.

Great idea but really should've come up with a better way to mount them. If you had a thicker knife you could probably cut the EDGE off and have the blades recessed inside the old knife, then smooth it down so its seamless. Not sure how well that'd work in practice but I think it'd be essential to somehow make the transition seamless for anything like this to really take off.

Cool stuff. Can't help but notice at the start you push the knife down on the tomato squashing it. And at the end you CUT the tomato not just push it. Not sure if the outcome will be much different but any dull knife can CUT the tomato if you cut it and just pushing it down usually squashes it. Especially if one is soft and another is hard tomato.

PSA: Razorblades are literally covered in a surprisingly thick but invisible layer of oil from the factory. You’ll notice it on your fingers when you go to separate a pile of them. Use isopropyl rubbing alcohol to clean them and then dry completely before you ever use them with food. 👌
