So I sold my 3060 planning on buying an 4070, ended up getting a great deal on a rx 7800xt. I didn’t know I was supposed to do all this, really thought it was just a plug and play n install the new software and driver for a new brand. I have my nvidia apps and drivers still and I installed my new rx 7800xt, how much damage am I doing? What do I do

You seem like a good source of knowledgeable information on Disk Management, so..... I recently had to replace a WD hard drive in a Raid 1 configuration. I plugged it in to one of the front SATA drive ports but did not check the BIOS to see which port it had internally hooked up with. Since the boot drive was in Port3, I thought the one right above it would be Port4, so when I used DM to initialize and format it, I said it was connected to Port4. That all went well (I thought) but when I used Inter RST to rebuild the Raid, it didn't work. After much ignorant searching, I realized I had an internal Seagate drive also assigned to Port4. Now I have 2 drives assigned to Port4. What I am trying to find out is a way to 'Uninitialize' the new WD drive so I can start over and assign it to Port5 (as indicated by my BIOS). Another way of saying that "is there a way to re-assign an HD to a different Port?" I have lost 4 days and much sleep over this problem and hope you may be able to guide me out of this hole. Thanks.
@ThisBytesForYou9 сағат бұрын
you should be able to remove the drive in the RST, RAID is a rough thing to recover from, when you make changes, it usually can recover on its own.

they still release things that will help with performance, compatibility, reliability and security, check what BIOS your on now, then go to the support site for your motherboard, check to see your BIOS, and then see everything thats been fixed from your version to the latest version. I state all of this in the video as well by the way.

#1 I show you how to connect the card here in this video, and I show you to use individual cables, not daisy chained cables, I recommend you get a new power supply, this can cause issues, like random shutting down and others. When a driver asks you to restart, finish it and restart your computer, when it restarts, move to the next driver. So making sure, did you download and install your chipset driver, chipset is the 1st driver you should install: www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/drivers.html/chipsets/am5/b650.html Did you update your BIOS to the latest version: www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B650M%20Pro%20RS/index.asp#BIOS Make sure to read the notes at the top of the page before your download and flash to the latest BIOS, also this video will help you update your BIOS: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6DGmn6kqNmmpNUsi=cMpoPHFRaKLcTX9E You also need to make sure to install the drivers made for the board, Audio, Bluetooth, AMD AI NPU, dont download and install the chipset from here, I gave you the newest drives in the first link, LAN, intel Wireless Lan, ASRock motherboard utility, all from there: www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B650M%20Pro%20RS/index.asp#Download Download and install your graphics drivers: www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/drivers.html/graphics/radeon-rx/radeon-rx-6000-series/amd-radeon-rx-6750-xt.html Download and install the drivers for your monitor: www.asus.com/us/displays-desktops/monitors/tuf-gaming/tuf-gaming-vg24vq/helpdesk_download?model2Name=TUF-Gaming-VG24VQ Windows installs a lot of this for you, what windows provides is garbage, slow and out of date drivers, update your drives please.

So the 0revious generations gets this js cuz it's nitro and my pure doesn't
@ThisBytesForYou4 күн бұрын
It's not just cuz, The Nitro costs the most between the Nitro, Pure and Pulse because it has more copper, better cooling, more fins, aluminum body, a backplate, aRGB lighting and higher clocks. The PURE has most of that, just clocked a little lower and the Pulse doesn't have aRGB lighting, is clocked a little lower and has less fines, you get what you pay for. Now as for Generation, previous Generation was 6700, and before that, 5700, and so on.
