Hope it's not too late to comment, but my goal is to finish my 10k in February in 57 minutes. I believe that's the global average time for men, and considering I've been out of shape all my 30s I would be happy just to get back to average at 40 😊

Man, your posts are so informative! While I don't participate in any competitive triathlon challenges. I run for general health, as well as mental and physical health. Particularly, a mile daily while in the office with extended runs on the weekends. AM runs are the best as the morning wakes up! My runs relieve stress, provide spiritual and mental stimulation, allows me to be physically 'in tune' with the environment when running outdoors, and musician Sade is serenading in my ear. In all, running is a gift to our DNA, and I think all runners have a kinship for personal endurance....

Might could sub a cross-training day (so some swimming or biking) for an easy run if you find yourself getting tired of "just" running. 01 March I'll be running my first half marathon in six years! My plan has 5 run days, a cross-training day and a rest day (with a 2nd optional rest day) and it's working for me so far, but I do absolutely love running! Also, could Lucky get any more adorable?!?

BTW...watch that cold air on your lungs. I was told by my trainer to run outside when the temps are above 40. Pnuemonia snuck up on me. The cold air on my lungs was not good. Loved running in the cold but it was not worth getting sick. Been good ever since bc I run when its above 40 degrees in Atlanta..

Glad to see your post Ashton and congrats on your impending wedding. I enjoy your posts and the outdoor scenes while you're doing your workouts. I partially grew up in Long Island i.e. Hemstead doing the mid 70s. Also, I want to get back in the exercise groove myself and use your previous posts as motivation...

Thanks for sharing and congrats! I completed a half iron man 7 years ago and have had a break from training due to back surgery and life being busy, but this is inspiring me to get back again and reach my goal of completing an ironman!

I think you should consider doing some olympic length races. Training will be way more manageable eith wedding planning. But will keep you in shape and keep a good base for when you do sign up for another half or full.
