If only more humans than not lived more like hobbits. The true lazy thing to do is to build something right and lasting the first time, like a good hobbit hole, so you and generations past have the choice to do nothing but be plump and laugh and pursue interests. That was the original point of society in general i had thought Now its about how far you can go without legally calling it slavery. ..i suppose maybe that was always the de-evolutionary trick from now unto ancient times. With tiny bursts of peace and promises in between. Not even bursts. More like spurts. So the example of that good could be held over your head for a long lingering badness, annoyance, and disillusionment of whatever the word "progress" means. A carrot on a stick, but in reality the carrot has been on so long its rotten black. Yet were still meant to chase it.

One could say this is better than reading the book because the voices and the acting are so great , and better than watching the movies because this is Tolkien and the movies, not so much . Thank you !

It’s painful to say this , but this is better than the movie !! The Smaug dialog is antologic. Tolkien would have loved this material.

If Hobbits were real I would adore them. I find them quite refreshing and as I pathologically dislike other people, I’d spend a lot of time roaming the Shire smoking pipeweed and living among them if they’d accept me there.
