Vecchia zimarra, senti, io resto al pian, tu ascendere il sacro monte or devi. Le mie grazie ricevi. Mai non curvasti il logoro dorso ai ricchi ed ai potenti. Passâr nelle tue tasche come in antri tranquilli filosofi e poeti. Ora che i giorni lieti fuggîr, ti dico: addio, fedele amico mio. Addio, addio.

I've loved Aragall since the early 80's when I read about him in some opera mag. I sent away over seas for an LP of his and have been a fan ever since. He is 85 now and I wish him well and hope he knows how much he is loved and respected.

Sublime, amazing, flawless technique. He hardly seems to be breathing. But what really seperates Domingo from the rest is the sheer beauty of tone, and a solid barytonal foundation of exquisite quality under the thunderous high notes, few tenors have this and none have it better

Only a complete moron would cast Botha as Otello. And seeing as how 99% of casting directors are morons I’m not surprised that this tub of lard had such an amazing career!

Jerry Hadley was never underrated. He had an amazing career and was very much in demand, but then he simply lost his top and was unable to perform at a decent level and his beautiful sound was simply not enough.

Domingo has been singing like total shit for the last thirty years! You need to get your hearing checked. One wobbly nasal octave does not a voice make!

I ve met Camarena in Zurich 11 years ago and my teacher said that he ll be a great tenor..he is,its very hard working ,im sure..Personal i prefer the old league. The tenors from this days are not "manly"enough😁i dont know..but i admire hard work people and the resistance in this world of opera from a psychological point of view if you know what i mean:)and i think you know:))) personal i coulnd resist in,im to sensitive,I cry instantly only if you show me a finger😅It is a tought world..I m singing alone in my house all day and my nights and days are stress free:)))))))

Hello:) I m an liric instrumentist artist, but my main title is instrumental artist-flutist and flute teacher,im playing flute since 35 years.I wanted to study opera becouse of Puccini-like an orchestra instrumentist i LOVE the music of Puccini and thats why i wanted to learn more..Actually Angela Gheorghiu helped me to find a very good teacher in Romania-signora Eugeniq Moldoveanu. And for this im gratfull to both! I was in Italy, met with important artists,srudy,research..From personal reasons i stop (one of it is my mind,i cant resist in this stress, before performances 😬🙄..just cant sleep,eat..brrr)What i want tosay is even if i love the orchestra, the orchestral part and genous of Puccini ..yes,its too loud!! :) Thats it-i put here all my life for only saying that its too loud orchestralq qnd you qre right😄😄😄sorry for my boring story🤭🤭

MM is the only "Modern" tenor, I've heard with sizeable squilo. Are the conservatories trying to erase the squilo out of their students' voices? "I haven't met any geniuses yet." Lol.

Thank you Afropli… looks like you’re a baritone- for your efforts to increase awareness of our present day opera culture. I am very saddened by the fact that audiences have become accustomed to poor singing! I, too, have a career behind me and look to great singers of the golden era instead of forcing myself to hear todays opera stars… Btw… Alvaro pinching his nose is perhaps something he copied from Corelli- when I studied I met Corelli and his wife , a vecchia scuola grand dame who chided him to stop doing that onstage and trust his technique. Perhaps success will continue to be the most detrimental thing to our young singers, they’re all in competition and they forget about the technique and practice rituals … Keep posting about this!!!

Love your chanel, but disagree on your comment on armiliato,he was a ten times better tenor than alvarez and kept the torch burning in all the big dramatic roles that are so woefully sung today,He was pretty good tenor.first saw him sing way back in 87 I think,in a performance of trovatore for the Dublin grand opera,a tall skinny young man but with a big exciting voice.
