You missed it! You’ll have to go back now. At that first campsite you stopped at 7N76Y, you have to keep going on foot where the road ends. It turns into a single track trail and goes down to the top of the dome. You’ll come out of the trees to a huge vista. Keep walking down and you’ll be on the summit of a huge granite dome. It’s like a private Half Dome where you can see for a hundred miles in almost every direction. That campsite is frequented and maintained by Rock Climbers who climb the 2,500ft dome. One of my favorite places on earth. Like having a private Yosemite Valley all to yourself. You can get to the bottom and reservoir by taking Ellis rd off of HWY 88. From the bottom you will be able to see just how massive the domes really are.

Hello new subscriber here. I live in Sacramento and often camp on the weekends in my ram pro master. Do you think my van can make it down there without airing down because I don’t own a compressor? Been to the lost coast twice on my motorcycle. Beautiful area. Be warned the paved roads getting back there are horrendous. Forty years of chip/ seal gone bad. Like a third world country. The gravel roads in your video are smoother than the "paved" ones. Still, it's worth the time and effort.

Thanks. I'm not exactly worried about scratches, but it's always a bit cringy when I hear that screeching noise...but yes, Rino or Linex will do the trick.
