Yes, you can progress sets for plyos and weighted jumps similarly to strength training, but with careful consideration of their high-output nature and impact on the central nervous system (CNS). Progression for plyometrics and weighted jumps should focus on quality over quantity. This means increasing intensity by enhancing the complexity or explosiveness of movements, rather than drastically increasing volume. For example: Volume progression: Gradually add a set, but cap the total volume to prevent fatigue and overtraining. Intensity progression: Progress to more advanced movements (e.g., from box jumps to depth jumps) or increase external load incrementally for weighted jumps. Speed and effort: Emphasize maximal effort and speed of execution, which are key for developing power. Additionally, ensure proper recovery between sets and sessions to allow the CNS to recover fully. Periodize plyometric training to include deload weeks and integrate it with your overall program for optimal results.

Of these 3 days, should I train 2 days for full body strength and 1 day for speed and explosiveness? Or should I train upper body on the 1st day, lower body (explosiveness) on the 2nd day, full body (strength) on the 3rd day, which is better, coach?

Hey Abraham, what if I wanted to train my aerobic capacity using a ball? I don’t have much time, so I was hoping to combine conditioning and technique, even if it’s not the most effective approach. Would you recommend doing the same drills you showed us here with a ball, or would you suggest something different?
