@350iroc910 күн бұрын
First thank you for the question. As you probably already know there isn't much information on the 650 yet an overwhelming amount on the 1000. I purchased the 650 with the intent to extend my riding season and visit riding locations not really suitable for traditional sport quads. If you've watched any of my other videos my primary machines are the Yamaha Banshee and the Yamaha YFZ450R. With that said I'm constantly trying to ride the Renegade as if it were the same but its not. I'll lay out my honest opinion though as you've asked focusing on the 650 itself. This machine is well built in my opinion and built better than Polaris machines. The 650 and the 1000 share the same frame and differentials. The 650 has no power steering and I'm fine with that. There is zero storage so you will need to either purchase a rear rack and a box or just wear a backpack. The transmission linkage setup is a negative as you have to rock the quad back and forth to shift it. This design has only recently been fixed in the Gen3 500 and 700 series machines. Its not a deal breaker and you get used to it. The stock brake pads are soft and don't last so get a set of aftermarket ones ASAP. The seat is comfortable and is good for all day riding. These machines are very thick in the middle and is like riding a horse in some ways. I think the taller you are the better. If this is your first ATV and you have a lot of mud and rocks in your area you will love it. Ton's of ground clearance and good power to go anywhere. Now here is where I myself stand with 4x4's in general. 4x4's are heavy! They are twice the weight of a sport quad. They fall into everything because its impossible to keep the front end light enough. 4x4's are top heavy. You sit on them not in them if that makes sense. This thing has almost thrown me off a few times because I'm pushing it. Practice and seat time will fix this issue to know the limits. At the time this video was filmed my Renegade has a lot of money poured into it to make it faster and ride better than stock. Here is a quick outline on what I've done. QSC Rev-X Primary Clutch PowerVision3 ECU programmer with custom race mapping. FOX QS3 Shocks from the 1000XXC Performance Exhaust system HMF Front Bumper 1.5" Wheel Spacers KMK Full Poly Skid plates In conclusion and at the end of the day, this machine is able to take me to places I wouldn't dare take my sport quads in to. 4x4's are extremely capable of taking on the worst terrain and conditions out there and that is fun in itself!

@350iroc923 күн бұрын
You're not the first person to say that. The issue with this trail system is it has two way traffic. If you drift and someone is right around the corner it could be catastrophic. Every year I see too many life flights landing.and 90% of them end in the worst possible way unfortunately. There are tons of UTV's out here now and not mention little kids on 50's. A head on with either one is the risk we already take. With that said we have a responsibility to dial it back and save the drifting for closed coarse and single track areas. I really appreciate you watching and please, please be safe out there....

Yes it's black grip type tape I had left over from my YFZ450. This machine was way to white so I just added some black accents. I can't decide on a graphics package for the life of me. @@350iroc9 ah nice… I just can’t do any type of aftermarket exhaust because of where we ride and I like to be as quiet as possible . Yeah XMR bumper looks great on xxc, however I had to order the front fascia and front skid plate for a XMR as well in order for it to have work. Because the stock front skid plate has to come off as well…. I got a carbon black seat cover on mine, with 1000r on the sides and JAWS stitched on the back top made by HiddenComfortCamo, It looks great. Just also got my Powervison 4 and a stage 1 tune from RVS performance as well. Can’t wait to try it out.

I didn't realize you had to swap out the front fascia to use the XMR bumper. The Can-am parts configurator doesn't tell the whole story unfortunately. I do enjoy the Powervision! I have a custom tune from BNR motorsports and it really woke the motor up not to mention its running cool and crisp now. By far though the best upgrade so far is the BNR custom tuned FOX podium 1.5 shocks. They are night and day from the stockers and provide a smooth compliant ride.

I’ve got a similar locking axle nut on my banshee but it’s too big for my biggest adjustable. Where can I find an adjustable or automotive wrench big enough? It’s at least a 3” nut
@350iroc92 ай бұрын
These type of locking nuts don't need a ton of torque so I just use a C-Clamp on the flat spots to tighten it. If yours is still shinny new just put a couple of wraps of electrical tape around it for protection. The C-Clamp way has a second benefit regarding the 5mm set bolt. I like to first pinch everything together then install the set bolt with loc-tight. This also lowers the chanced of snapping the set bolt (been there done that twice!) Its hardly worth buying a wrench big enough to work on a Steam Engine as this method works and is probably already in your tool box. Best of luck and thanks for watching and comment!

@350iroc96 ай бұрын
If you are heavy set then 450 all day is the best option. The Banshee in Glamis really has to work with a big fella piloting it. They will boil easily with aggressive sand paddles. The 450 is so much easier to ride in the dunes and gets twice the gas mileage. I've had zero issues in my 65 hours of operation with the 450. In fact the only reason I have it is because I burned up my Banshee's electrical system in Glamis because it got too hot. If you have never owned a Banshee before then just skip it honestly. They are way too expensive now. Spend your time riding and not working on it all the time is my recommendation. You won't be disappointed with a 450. I also think the 450 is a better quad than the Raptor if you were considering it.

@350iroc93 ай бұрын
@@ghammababy3992 Wow that is awesome and you are doing it the right way! With everything you mentioned you will have unleashed the full potential of the 450 and have it dialed in for a happy healthy life! My last recommendations as an FYI is to keep an eye on that FCI intake where it clamps to the throttle body. If you installed it yourself then you already know that there is not much room for that boot to bite onto it. That clamp is known to get loose after several heat cycles so re-torque it from time to time. Its so tight in there and hard to see as you probably already know. Next is battery care. For whatever reason my Vortex ECU will drain my battery if it sits to long. I don't know about the power commander but I've made it a practice to disconnect the negative battery cable after every trip so that doesn't happen anymore. I'm positive you made the right choice! Don't get me wrong I love my Banshee but will also admit I suffered for years trying different combinations of parts and settings before finally getting it right.
