I cannot WAIT to do this to my old Tuni Inc cabinet. Making this generic old cab into a semi crystal castles cab with a pi powering it. Just got my crt recapped and turned on!! Having some h hold and v hold issues, but I'm so close to figuring my k4600 out. You and Mike's Amateur have been so incredibly helpful to me. So I had to comment and say seriously thank you!

I lost 6 of my arcade machines this past January when my neighbors 80ft tall Oak tree fell during a storm, cutting my garage in half... Fallen soldiers include a Ms Pacman cabaret, Qix, 10 Yard Fight, Rolling Thunder, Arkanoid and Defender. If anyone is curious, Travellers insurance pays a flat rate of $1000 per machine without any special riders or policy amendments...

Dude I like your videos, and I don't like criticizing peoples work, but you need to work much faster with bondo. Just put it on and sand it off. Don't try to get it so thin and perfect. Just get it close with a flash, let it dry, and sand. Faster is key with bondo, MUCH faster.

Rust-Oleum Satin black oil paint works great if rolled on. Readily available in VA hardware stores. They only have black or white oil based paint though. Mixing oil based for colors is no longer available.

@@overtimearcade You use a brush first on the inside edges and hard to reach places. Then roll it with foam roller in the other areas that are left. Everything dries evenly and looks great!

So how do you adjust the geometry if the areas where the red blue or green is off and not aligned?

That’s convergence/purity, typically controlled by the set of rings around the neck of the tube. It’s a real pain IMO to adjust that, so I tend to leave it alone unless it’s so bad I can’t live with it.

Back in the arcade days you would put your quarter up on the machine so you’d have next game after someone was playing maybe someone’s quarter slipped down under the control panel 🤷🏻♂️ it’s happened to me before

I picked up one of these awhile back converted to Jail Break. Yours is in great looking shape! Mine came with gold T-molding, the wiring etc was complete but the edge was modded and no gameboard or casette deck sadly

Reminds me of something you see in a bar. I love going to arcades and seeing the Frankenstein cabinets. More than once I would catch side art and be like okay. Time to play. Hey! That isn't what the side art is. LOL

Conversions are one thing, as a cabinets cobbled together from spare parts by an operator. But this thing is like a platypus - hard to believe it was actually DESIGNED like this! LOL

Well, I got to see Burgertime in MAME with bezel artwork. At that, Ithink there is a non Deco Burgertime board. Hope you find one. Rally x would be neat if you had the cab. So get bezel artwork and burgertime board. also Marcee.

Yes, there’s also a Bally Midway version of the BurgerTime PCB, but I’ll be using a BitKit2 for this project. And I already ordered a reproduction DECO BurgerTime marquee!

I have a Japanese Space Invaders bootleg cocktail called "Space Stranger" that came from the same late '70s - early '80s universe. Some of those parts like the buttons, joysticks etc. are like freaking unicorns. SO MUCH 💰was made on the arcade gold rush then, a cab would pay itself off in a week or two. Many factories suddenly stopped everything to build arcade cabs.

I'm almost ready to buy the BITKIT2. Can you only add "supported" ROMs? For example, I want to add Zaxxon & Commando which aren't "supported". Will they play OK? Yes, no, maybe?

Nope, the BitKit2 will only play games that are supported. The FPGA needs to be programmed to emulate the specific hardware type (e.g., Z80, 6502, MCR, Sega System 1, etc.) and there are often game-specific features that need to be accommodated as well. Over 100 games are currently supported with new ones being added frequently! List of supported games is here: bitkit.info/

@@overtimearcade Thanks for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it! Still makes me wonder though, if it could be kind of "hacked" to play unsupported roms. Like maybe change the name of the ROM you're uploading to a game you don't like that uses the same hardware? If they could get the 60-in-1 titles sorted out, these would be a lot more popular. I currently have 2 cabs with those cheapo 60-in-1's in them (one a multigame and the other a nice dedicated Burgertime), so I need something better for the Burgertime. From everything I've seen, these play the original Roms just about as good as the OG board, they boot faster, are more reliable and would cost me less than an OG Burgertime PCB. If you can't see it and it works the same or better, I'm all for it.🍔🕖👍

@Reality_Checkmate I’m planning to use a BitKit2 in my own BurgerTime cabinet. I don’t know if the “hack” you’re suggesting would work though, since it loads game-specific resources (not just hardware-specific resources) to run each game. You should reach out to Aaron (aka CraftyMech) the creator of the BitKit2 though, as he takes requests on new games to add. You can find him on KLOV, Facebook, and Discord.

8:40 Beautiful Arcade room! 🫶 I really LOVE the Donkey Kong, where you’re looking into this black “void”, and further inside is the screen. It’s like you’re looking into the world of Donkey Kong, from the outside perspective. The machine is the holster, and when you step up and look inside, there’s Donkey Kong’s world, with pure blackness everywhere else around it. It just feels a tiny bit more immersive that way (at least for me) I love the Arcade-machines that’s like that 🤗
