What is disappointing about this video is that Hideyoshi's legal wife Nene/One/Kita-no-mandokoro is not mentioned. By giving birth to Hideyori, the heir, Yodo-dono rose in status as his birth mother, even though she was a concubine, and effectively surpassed that of his legal mother. Many of the other concubines did not have children, so we suspect that there was something behind the scenes, but we do not know for sure as there are no reliable records. Unfortunately, among the vassals of the Toyotomi family (who became feudal lords following Hideyoshi's promotion), factions had formed between the legal mother and the birth mother, leading to conflict. This is one of the reasons why the Battle of Sekigahara occurred. The legal mother faction had Ieyasu, the most powerful daimyo, as its head, but the birth mother faction had no choice but to make Mohri Terumoto the official head, as Ishida Mitsunari was of a different status. However, some of the Mohri feudal lord clans were disorganized, including Kikkawa Hiroie, who had a connection with Ieyasu, and as a result, the troops on the battlefield did not participate in the battle. Also, Nene's nephew Kobayakawa Hideaki was also on the battlefield as a feudal lord who was said to have committed an act of betrayal, so it was only natural that Ieyasu's side would win at the Battle of Sekigahara. After that, Ieyasu established the Tokugawa shogunate and put pressure on the Toyotomi family, and when the Toyotomi family did not choose to surrender and become his vassals, he destroyed them. Although Yodo-dono's cousin Oda Nobukatsu(Nobunaga's second son) had many ups and downs, eventually joined Ieyasu side and continued as a daimyo family until the modern Meiji era of the 19th century.

@TrenackerКүн бұрын
It was the grunts. The show goes to great lengths to let you know that the Japanese characters are hiding their true motivations, but Yabu is the most transparent to us, both because we see him betray Toranaga outright and because he vocalizes many of the same reactions the audience feels as things appear to go sideways for Toranaga.

Fun fact toda mariko means “all gay” in Spanish
@ButiBambero18 сағат бұрын
No it doesn't. Toda = all (feminine) mariko (even with the k changed to c) means nothing, it is missing another letter for the masculine and 2 letters to make it the feminine and match toda. It was close, but not close enough lol

It sounded the most exciting it’s one account of his death, however after reading his entire life story I will do a video on the the tiger of Kai with all 3 narratives of his death, pneumonia, an old war wound or being shot dead by a sniper.

Tokugawa Ieyasu loved Honda Masanobu so much that he didn't kill him like in TV dramas! Ieyasu would never kill someone who brought him benefits.
Nope! You can tell by the mouth noises I make sometimes and I do make mistakes sometimes! I will be showing my face soon in introductions to try and connect with the audience more!

The Iceni killed mutilated destroyed more Celts in less than a year than the Romans did during the invasion & the 20 years of occupation. The Celts the Iceni killed were innocent and unarmed. They had fought against the invading Romans lost and had accepted peace and had been working farming peacefully during the 20 years . The Iceni didn't join the other Celts who fought against the invading Romans. They were Roman allies and remains on their land's during the invasion . They had been pro roman before they rebelled. Whatever reason for the rebellion it had nothing to do with being anti Roman. But more to do with selfish reasons. Whatever bargain they agreed with Rome to be allies we don't know, but the Iceni obviously got less than they expected. But instead of attacking the Roman legions in the north They chose to go south to kill destroy new Roman city's Knowing they were undefended , that no Roman legions were in those areas . They took out their vengeance on innocent unarmed Celts. They wernt hero's or anti Roman. They made a deal with Rome and they felt cheated . They were cowards murderers and theives . And got what they deserved when Seutonius defeated them. No other tribes had joined them . There's no evidence of that whatsoever .

Being a Catholic, I seriously wonder if, The priest s, who had a vested interest in having a respected woman convert to Catholicism, wanted to make her into a bit of a martyr. Since suicide is against Catholic dogma, that they put out the idea that the servant killed her against her wishes. That way she stays, in the religious sense, pure.

When I was a student at the Osaka University of Foreign Studies (Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture), my friend had to go to the local hospital. It was Garashia Hospital, named after Hosokawa Gracia. Their staff included both nuns and laypersons. There was also a Catholic nun's convent in Minoh. The sisters were really nice, especially Sister Makoto, she was absolutely great, the liveliest person I have ever seen.
