I use Adobe podcasts for Zoom interviews for my radio show. My personal sound is good, but other folks fall short. Adobe makes bad Zoom sound work. Most people consume sound on the fly, which means, for my purposes, I'm on the upswing rather than the down.

Great video! I'm I crazy for prefering the PodMic over the SM7B? Yeah, I think the best is the Procaster, then the PodMic (if you add the specially design Rode pop filter it becomes even better), and the SM7B last. The warmth of the Procaster is, simply, GREAT.

Bass tipup is not super pleasing to the ear! It's an undesirable effect that presenters try to avoid, and a certain manufacturer uses elaborate measures to avoid!

I just received mine and the only thing I dislike is that it doesn’t have a magnet or something to attach the base to the board.

Why does the title say 1080p but you say it’s a lower res written on the back of the device? 😂

Came here 4 years later to say it's a lie. Dynamic mics don't reject the background noise better than condenser.

Cool video Ken. Thanks for creating it. However, wouldn't going with better quality be the winning 'bet' in case you wanted to extend your offering to include higher-end video production?🎰

I have an issue i cant find an answer to. I also use a rhode pod mic, i usually run it through my loopstation as a audio interface, but it gives crackling audio going in and out of the interface. Ive tried switching to new cables and that didnt help. I then swapped to a mixer i have and that didnt help either. They work perfectly fine when not giving and taking audio from the pc.

i was just thinking if there was any videos about this because i was wondering if it's even worth to buy the more expensive one. but i might go for the one that doesn't cost so much, since i just want to try it out anyways, maybe in the future elgato could be the choice. so yeah! thank you so much for this!

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!! I have 2 CamNova’s and they are awesome, but.. I’m wanting to mainly use something to record in OBS to cut down on editing time for a podcast, and maintain different scenes/camera angles to switch seamlessly without recording via camera and having 2 different files and having to edit them in Together. CamLink 4K it is..

Ken, I bought a very similar product the only difference being the name (Neewer) and size (48"). That thing is MASSIVE. Anyway I have quite a bit of experience with light modifiers. (Softboxes & such) 🤓 You've probably changed your setup by now BUT ... If you remove the Double Diffusion panel (that's the smaller one) and the Center Plate and the Grid. You'll almost certainly be back to ~10% on your power consumption AND the light will probably be slightly softer. ALSO; if you angle (pun intended) the light quite a bit to the left (point it in front of your face instead of directly at it), this will lower the contrast by allowing more of the light to bounce off the wall to your right, (camera left) to fill in the shadows on the right side of your face. However you May Lose a little bit of the drama in your background as some of the light will spill back there as well. SHINE YOUR LIGHT!

The difference is the possibility to record to OBS in 4K 30fps natively. I've got the 40€ regular and it's excellent but it is noticeable for the details and the colour skin tone.

Will the Elgato - Cam Link allow quicktime to record at 1080p-60 on a mac? I have the generic capture device, it will only go up to 720 -60. I use Quicktime to copy my hi-8 camcorder footage on my mac.
