About topoda. most of his normal attacks can be easily parried. do NOT, however, do NOT riposte. he punishes riposte VERY harshly

I don’t see the plot holes or mischaracterization you complain about in the video I feel like you’re trying to seek out a happy ending where there is none and everything you criticize is just the reality of the situation when it comes to pollution and climate change since they have some intersection in the theming of the story. You critique Kril’s characterization when it’s spelled out right in the beginning There are predators, scavengers and those who just want to be left alone. People like Krill exist. Even knowing the gravity of the situation, it doesn’t take priority over their comfortability or desire to “keep things the same” Firth’s plan with the shell makes sense because it amplifies his motivation which is still greed. It just takes it to its forgone conclusion that his fiscal ambition combined with that level of power would spell disaster in the name of profit basically evolving his greed from entrepreneur to that of like a CEO the ending is frustrating because it’s the same as real life. Even with all of the knowledge of our harm to the environment. Most of us will just carry on as normal because there’s only so much that we can do as individuals. Most people are not the heroes nor the villains of their stories. They’re just the protagonist of their own individual tales TL:DR Kril just wants to grill Capitalism bad We’re all fucked unless we can start to see further than our own eyes Realistic ending feels bad in crab souls game

We see Chitan in the game's ending cutscenes. I believe Kril did go back to help get them healed back up and they help fight polluted crabs with him in the sands between. I feel like that should at least lighten things up a little bit even after all the other wasted opportunities. In this I see more a message about sometimes we just have to roll with what life throws at us and what consequences we have to learn from after we make mistakes.

Carcino comes from the greek world karkinos that means both crab and cancer, because in the old days people tought that cancer was caused by crab-like parasites

consider this, him trying to finally stop it all leads to disaster that destroys everything. Think how you need to do it before you do, or you break everything and won't have tools to rebuild it.

I honestly like the ending we got, and I think it makes the commentary on pollution more effective. There is no perfect solution to save the world, fixing oceanic pollution would require a collective effort from everyone. It also points out how righteous anger can blind people, and how selfish individuals manage to make the world worse. I think the current ending works thematically, and it not being a happy one feels almost like a call to action to me.

Most of us can't even do anything against corruption since it's corruption it's higher Powers abusing their power you can't stop someone from abusing their power unless everyone stops them

I feel like firth's monologue at the end is a satire of what current real world governments are doing with setting climate change goals, like "by 2028 we'll cut emissions by 40%" or china's goal of "peak emissions by 2030 and reduce emissions after"

I'm not the writers at Aggro Crab but I'm pretty sure that hypocrisy is the point. Just like the snail that attacks you at the start of the game. Firth is discontent with the system and sees no way to change it beyond fueling it even more, while Krill and us with the outsiders view think the system should be abolished entirely. At least that's how I viewed it.
@ninjafruit06 күн бұрын
I mean. Dude. Do you get that this is a massive critique of the current economic system and its extremely flawed approach to dealing with environmental issues? The dominant view that the best thing we can do to fix the environment is to continue ramping up the economic systems which will give us the wealth to fix the environment. This is massively misguided, it’s dreamed up by people obsessed with our economic systems and little understanding of the environment, they don’t realize the destruction of the environment is not something that can be fixed by throwing money at it after the fact. This is why Firth is not a mustache twirling villain. He is a pretty perfect vehicle through the whole game as a stand in for this kind of viewpoint where it’s believed “business as usual” is the best outcome for the world, when those who study the environment label the worst scenario as “business as usual”. Lowkey dude, it seems like the themes of the game massively flew over your head.

@ninjafruit0 or by saying Firths plan makes no sense it means I'm saying the real world solutions you're talking about that are flawed also make no sense which is appropriate bc both Firth and real world leaders make no sense and are flawed and so im based for coming to the same conclusion in a different way
@ninjafruit06 күн бұрын
@@dancorona Fair enough, I just really disagree with the statement that where Firth ends up “a lack of clarity for his motivation”. He believes very deeply in the economic system and we see him throughout the game deal with the cognitive dissonance of the terrible consequences that result from that system. When we go through Scuttleport together and he sees the devastation and misery it brings to the area and all of the people there, he finds it impossible to believe that Roland would do this. His eventual conclusion is that he will treat his people better when he becomes rich, not connecting the dots that Roland is obscenely wealthy because he treats everyone horribly, it’s a feature not a flaw. Despite everything he sees, he cannot reconcile with the fact that the system is fatally flawed, which is why his plan is so obviously insane, it doesn’t deal with the real issues and actually makes them worse. I thought his character was perfect, he was setup for this wonderfully.

i think you kind of get it with how you think behind the character writing with him not really caring i always interpreted as there is nothing that can be done about it no matter how much someone fights and even if they think they have won that fight new corruption and pollution will always follow and you need to do your best just to make even one life better because the bigger issues no matter how much you ever fight can never be fixed and people only ever look out for themselves in the end
