Installing this on an engine sitting on a pallet is a horse of a different color. With the engine on the truck (as would be for about 95% of us) it’s a major task. Gotta drop your front axle for access to the cooler for 4X4 trucks and the coolant pipe is tricky.

@1:10 - I hate those push clip/rivets! On all my trucks, I've put 6mm rivnuts in place. They drop right in for the metal areas, and the plastic areas just need a few thou' to be drilled out. Now, I just undo a few bolts and it lifts off! Zero drama.

seeing how the lash went out of spec after turning over 10 revolutions, i wonder if anyone has tried turning it over 10 more times to see if it stays in spec?

In my case, it’s getting more and more difficult to get 00-06 trucks in good shape (at least where I live). I’m thinking on buying a very nice 2wd that nobody has bought in months and convert it … the problem is that I’m not in continental US and finding a donor truck is not so easy… I was wondering if the brackets for the dog bone will be the same for the 1500 (a few of those available) I was thinking how feasible would be to put the drivetrain parts from a 1500 (transfer and front diff)

15yrs in the industry and not once have i had a bad duramax oil cooler. You said its a common failure, the stats would disagree. And the pictures you posted look more like head gasket failure or water pump failures ive seen. But its great for a youtube comment to get people to buy product especially if you have a discount code. Ive personally had 5 duramaxes in my family, with 2 of them being mine, 2 lb7/2 lbz/l5p.

i almost went into a 52k debt just to get a new 3.0L silverado. then after much more thought and research, decided to hunt down an 06 GMC LBZ. After some time, I scored an 06 GMC LBZ extra cab with 140k miles for $10k! Runs perfectly fine, just overhauled the suspension and gave it a full service to start my tracking!

Nothing other than the outsourced bolts that make up the Banks upgrade kits. It’s all there for you so you don’t have to get all the parts your self

i got a lb7 that i drive every day and I've put on like 90k on it. I bought it at 280k and now have 374k did injectors with the help of your videos did everything to spec and now just got back from a trip to tn from wi hauling a trans am back on a trailer now on Monday I went out to work was driving to a job and then decided to stop at the gas station, I came out had oil all over I popped the hood and notice the oil filler neck had been leaking ( I had been seeing lower oil pressure for a few days, but everyone online said it was normal psi) I put half a gallon in it stick was pretty dry looking. I did the blow by test with the cap, shes got blow. I can't tell what it's from people keep saying its piston cracked or rings, a few people mentioned it could be the crush washers in the cups I slightly think it is or at least I am hoping I ordered the orings and everything for that deal. ever since then though its got a very slight vibration every 5 seconds idling whats your thoughts?

My friend has a 2011 Colorado with the 5.3 and loves it. Good fuel economy for a V8 and lots of power for a mid-sized truck. The only down side is how much maintenance is required to stop the frame from rotting out from under it.

The Dodge Rampage, in 1982 I was in the Marines, I was a MP. Being in the branch of the military with the smallest budget, we got to drive some crappy vehicles. We had 2 Rampages and two Fairmonts to us as patrol cars. The fords were actual “police package” sedans with inline 6 cylinders. The performance of them made you want to just get out and walk, you’d definitely get there faster. The Rampages, useless as a truck, useless as a patrol car (no back seat to throw your drunks into). But seeing them with light bars on them, definitely looked way cooler than the Fairmount. But floor the rampage, let that massive 4 cylinder engine feed from the single barrel Holley carb…..the damn things would hug the road and handled better than any other government issued car of the time period. They were a hell of a lot faster than the ford police package cars we had. Fun vehicle to drive, but point A to point B driving was all they were good for.

People that don't tow with there heavy duty trucks they shouldn't have a heavy duty truck, especially People who slam and squat them. Trucks are built to do work and towing and hauling everything else.

Just tried to install these today on my 2004.5 Duramax and they do not fit. The top bushing is too large to fit into the mount bracket. Even with the full weight of the truck pushing on it, it will not press fit. Frustrating.

@@truckmastergarage9944 wish I could of sent you pics! I even compared the factory and these and the new ones are significantly wider where it recesses into the frame mount hole. But I’ve never don’t these before so who knows, I could always be doing it wrong. I’m putting them in the same way the factory ones went in
