They have a party who is associated to a company who sell their products (or used too sell them). It’s hardly surprising that they take issue and threaten action if they don’t like the video and to have such a video is against the interests of dcs and the seller. It’s naive for anyone to think otherwise. It has rather backfired on dcs though.

Ngl, I think suing for a review *could* be reasonable, like if they're not only making inaccurate claims but you can prove that it's had an impact I don't see how slapping the word "review" on a video would make it immune to any legal ramifications, like im no lawyer but if your business suffered damages because someone lied you could probably sue for *something*, and I don't see how calling it a review changes the facts. Sounds like this definitely isn't the circumstance in this situation, just saying that suing someone over a review doesn't seem like the crazy part of the story.

@@pptemplar5840 I'm not caught up but it seems like dCS is claiming there were factual errors that they've been casually going back and forth with GS over the last couple years, GS seems to claim there weren't factual errors. Without knowing what was asked to be changed and what the "errors" are it's hard to make a moral judgment here. It's a niche product in a niche sector, so every review is important; this isn't like mainstream tech where you have dozens of major reviews from various websites and reviewers. It would be much easier to see damage from a particular review.

I cannot believe the conclusion about the Kevin Bankston segment made it into the final cut of this video. Gemini INGESTS your personal documents, even if you had the setting allowing as much disabled. This is still TERRIBLE. Essentially, if you open Gemini for some file, you are implicitly allowing Gemini access to *all* future files of that type you access, until you manually disable Gemini. *While the appropriate setting allowing as much is disabled*. And this video paints Kevin as an outraged individual who was then later embarrassed by a lack of basic understanding. That just isn't what happened, at all, and Google is being deceptive as always. Come on guys, all you had to do was read the Twitter thread you provide in this same video. It all happened in one day, 5 days ago, its not like you missed updates that just now happened.

Why are they going back to old videos and removing them? Has the narrative changed? What took so long for this company to find the review and decide to act on it years later? This isn't the first time and youtube does this often themselves.

I miss the old Newegg. Now it is filled with third-party trash, terrible irrelevant search results, and lousy customer service. Today's Newegg has all the same unverified supply chain problems that Amazon does. I desperately wish there was a Micro Center near me. Brick and mortar stores have to obtain components from legitimate supply chain sources and there's someone you can chew out in person if they ever refuse to provide reasonable customer service.

@@oladrolahola I'm not aware of such a statement from Linus, however I can say that Newegg has a pretty terrible reputation in the customer service department. Possibly could of come from the incident with Gamer's Nexus (knowingly sold a broken motherboard, then refused to refund them). I've personally have had negative experiences with Newegg, I only use them as a last resort. I'm an infrequent customer though, I only upgrade my computer ~6 years and this year I did it via Microcenter since they offered a 7800X3D, mobo, and 32 GB of RAM for $500.

Did this smug ass presenter just downplay the AI automatically reading someone's tax return and imply the risk is obviated by just closing the summary panel? This scenario is no different than the one he presented earlier with AT&T receiving a video of the stolen data deletion. Why this presenter mocks the reporter's failure to believe Google didnt have a copy of its AI review of something it wasn't supposed to have while deriding AT&T for believing hacker making the same claim is oxymoronic and inconsistent. Frankly his smug attitude and chuckle as if the reporter should be trusting Google really pisses me off.

When I look at reviews I usually don't mind some negatives and still buy a lot of products based on what I like, but that company's actions make me want to avoid all their products forever, they did this to themselves.

The point is if the ‘review’ channel also sells the product and holds themselves out to be independent and the brand don’t like the way they describe the product then something has to give. It’s totally different if the reviewer has no selling affiliation and is totally independent. If they describe it wrongly or not, it ends there!
@Jehty_
@Jehty_ 3 ай бұрын
Why does that matter? A review is a review. As long as it wasn't done in mal-intent or gross negligence it doesn't matter if they are also selling the product. And the brand not liking negative feedback is tough luck.
@13thnotehifireviews7
@13thnotehifireviews7 3 ай бұрын
@@Jehty_of course a ‘review’ done by a firm who sells the product isn’t a review - it’s just product promotion and there will be hold harmless terms between the parties in the commercial contract for selling gear. It’s as much in the sellers interest too that the marketing is on the same page. Also they can’t benchmark and say what they think is better. A review means critical appraisal if that’s justified. A brand who sells the gear shouldn’t be doing bad reviews either themselves or via their agents, employees or associates. So it’s not tough luck, it’s a commercial thing. I’m all for honest reviews but very few are that way due to brands being the paymaster - goldensound was just given a Lina stack worth over £10k and you can bet from now on he won’t have anything bad to say about dcs.

GPT does have guards in place for making it very difficult for generating malicious code. A Cyber Security buddy and I did some rigorous testing in this regard. While I was able to get the information we wanted, it took ALOT of effort. And even then, it gave very basic code examples... At first.

If they can sue someone for a bad review, then why review a product. I mean if you give an honest review and it puts the product in a bad light, why review any product if it can get you sued. If I were reviewers, I wouldn’t review any of that companies products out of fear I would end up in court over a bad review.

Ryzen getting EVEN MORE efficient? That's wild with how big the efficiency gap to Intel already is. I was thinking about switching to a different cooler because my current CPU fan can be slightly annoying. But if the efficiency gap increases even further, I just may switch from my current 13600KF to a Ryzen and make it quiter that way.
