An inspiring and insightful podcast! Listening to Sandeep was a pleasure. His deep appreciation for Hindi poetry, finding a spiritual connection with cricket and his extensive professional background added unique layers to this discussion. The insights in the podcast were profound and thought provoking. Sandeep's vast knowledge and Rohit Juneja's thoughtful hosting created a wonderful listening experience.

How to quiet the mind? How to be detached and function within the world while working etc?
@RohitJuneja
@RohitJuneja 11 күн бұрын
Hi Lisa. What a wonderful question. (1) Regarding how to quiet the mind please refer to my playlist “Mind on a Leash.” Meditation practices are very helpful but there are some things to do that will help you retrain your mind before you learn to meditate. (2) your question on detachment while functioning in the world can be best answered in my video based on Chapter 3 of Bhagavad Gita. You will find it here kzbin.infoabgeWph8BRA?si=rq-kQsoq6Zq2zfQf

22:11 Shiva...is a demigod?
@RohitJuneja
@RohitJuneja 2 ай бұрын
Shiva is in a unique position. He's not an ordinary living entity (jiva), he's not an ordinary demigod (deva), nor is he in the Vishnu (God) category. Shiva has his own tattva, category of being, known as shiva-tattva. His residence, Kalilash, isn't annihilated when the rest of the material manifestation is annihilated. Shiva and his abode are eternal just like the spiritual world, Vaikuntha, the abode of Vishnu. Shivaya vishnu roopaya shiva roopaya vishnave Shivescha hrudayam vishnuhu vishnuscha hrudayam shivaha The shloka says- Shiva is another form of Vishnu, Vishnu is another form of Shiva. Shiva resides in the heart of Vishnu, Vishnu resides in the heart of Shiva. Shiva is the greatest Vaishnava of devotee of Krishna. Vishnu in his avatar of Rama shows how devoted he is to Shiva.. Vishnu and Shiva are very close and very dear to each other. Brahma, in his prayer known as Brahma-samhita, compares Shiva to yogurt and Krishna to milk. By adding some culture to milk, one makes yogurt. Both come from the same substance, yet are slightly different in quality. Milk, or Vishnu, is the source. Such is the relationship between Shiva and Krishna. Vishnu is responsible for the maintenance of the material and spiritual worlds. Shiva is responsible for the destruction of the material world. He is also in charge of the tamas (mode of ignorance), although he's not personally affected by it. Shiva is constantly in meditation on Vishnu. He is extremely powerful and full of good qualities. He's easily pleased by service and devotion to him, but he's most pleased when his followers direct their ultimate worship to Vishnu. Read the story of Daksha in the fourth Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam; there you'll get a good understanding of the power and majesty of Shiva.

Khrisna is all forms of love, yet we can only feel, yearn for his attention and/or affections through love in order for him to reveal himself. Or do we simply go within and ask. In what capacity do we commune with Krishna, i.e., to ask for guidance in life through prayer. To ask Krishna or the Supreme Being!?
@RohitJuneja
@RohitJuneja 2 ай бұрын
Your question is profound. To want to see Krishna has been the longing of all those who have loved him. Many people say show me God then I will believe. Imagine saying let me shake hands with the president of the US then I will believe that he exists. It doesn't work like that. Krishna is showing you who he is, what he looks like and what he does. If you want to get closer and meet him personally then there is a process. He says in the Bhagavad Gita, "Engage your mind always in thinking of Me, become My devotee, offer obeisances to Me and worship Me. Being completely absorbed in Me, surely you will come to Me." He reveals himself to those who are totally absorbed in him and have no interest in worldly matters. I have met many such wonderful devotees and heard from them of his wonderful pastimes even now.

This has been in my mind for a while, I am a bit confused with the understanding of the form manifestation of Maya, Mahamaya and Yogmaya. I read that the manifestation of Yogamaya can range from Radha Rani, Sita Ma, Lakshami Ma to Durga Ma, Kali Ma etc, while I also read there are differences between the two, Mahamaya is Durga Ma/Kali Ma and Yogmaya is only the incarnations of Maha-Lakshmi/Radha Rani. I understand they are all energy potencies of the energetic Shree Krishna, but the differences in those two potenticies are confusing me. If you could please enlighten me Swamiji, I would appreciate it

Jesus also said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
@RohitJuneja
@RohitJuneja 5 ай бұрын
Jesus may say that he is the way to the Father but Krishna, in the Bhagavad Gita, says “for all species of life that are produced, the material nature is the womb, and I am the seed-giving Father.” He also says, “I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this worship Me with their heart.” So if Christ wants to bring you to the Father - Krishna - perhaps you should read the Fathers own instructions in the Bhagavad Gita.

Since you’re kind enough to respond, I’d like to impose a bit further! John 3:17 says the following: “For God sent Not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” Furthermore, Christ gave up his life freely, by taking the cross, in order to settle the debt for my sins and yours. Then three days later God resurrected him from the dead, at which time He showed himself to many people, as further evidence of His Lordship. For God so loved the world that He gave us His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16. Thank you kindly for your forbearance. Blessings🙏

Thank you Prabhuji, I have so much deep respect to Prahlad Maharaj and look up to him as a role mode. Like Prahlad Maharaj, I am going through something similar. My father in this current life, although he isn't an atheist, he is not much of a devotee, but he has worked very hard and continues to do so, for the family without much attachments to his own desires. But the only problem is, he believes in self-effort too much and believes God is just a belief and that I shouldn't be devoted too much. He fears that he will lose his "own son" if I continue on this path of devotion. And it has gotten us into many unnecessary fights recently, but I have no hatred towards him, but rather, compassion, that hopefully one day he will let go of painful attachments and he starts to understand Krishna, little by little. Compare to me, he is somewhat of a great man, but just needs to curb that ignorance and surrender to God. It is such a simple step, yet difficult for him to realize. But I have full faith that Krishna will show him the way, and I shall continue my devotion and inspire more of my family members, friends and even strangers whether online or offline. Prahlad Maharaj ki jai, Nrsimha Dev ki jai. HariBol

Thank you Prabhuji. From 2018 to 2020, I was in mental state of depression due to material entanglement, I still can't believe I was in such a state. Everday felt the same, looping and looping again and again, the world started looking so fake in front of my eyes. I started to question life and only started to find answers slowly from 2022 onwards. 2023 I finally found a definite answer, Shree Krishna. I started to chant few rounds slowly, and then started doing 16 rounds, at first it felt like a chore and my mind was trying to force me to be lazy and skip it, but I kept going and now its a habit, I am just chanting 16 rounds, in home, on my way to work or during work. Chanting definitely has purified my heart more. I am fortunate and grateful. HariBol

Happy New Year Prabhuji, attachments to material things really is a scary thing. I am glad Shree Krishna saved me from this Material Entanglement thanks to the Bhagavad Gita. Reading it alone first time, like Arjuna, I had many questions. But the second time and more you read, and including the fact you hear it from bonafide spirtual masters, it really makes sense, like the missing piece of the puzzle being inserted. Each time you just learn something new, despite reading it and watching it over and over again. It really is beautiful. HariBol
