Ring Doorbell 2 One Year Update

This was a very clear and comprehensive review and seems to match my somewhat limited experience with Ring 2. I purchased mine 3 weeks ago, with the Ring Chime, set up was straightforward and I thought it was A.O.K... Then it said my WiFi was poor, so I bought and installed a WiFi extender. Then it stopped showing notifications on my phone. Then it reduced the 30 second 'captures' to 6, or, 7, or 9 seconds. Then it gave me shots of the back of delivery drivers as they left my doorway, or left from delivering packages to my neighbour (they have to pass my door to get to my neighbours)😑 I have read all the help notes, watched videos, and I am left confused, concerned and very out of pocket. I just want to feel secure in my own home, and have a product that is fit for purpose.

@@WillyFilmit This device is a pain, I have two of the ring doorbells and the older one. 1st Gen is useless now. The newer one won't connect with my chime now. Sheesh!

Thanks Willy your Ring Doorbell review is very useful. I was thinking of buying a Ring Doorbell for my frontdoor.but put off by your thoughtful and well explained review. I was also told that Ring is now charging extra for some of the features?

Hi Kevin, I pay £35 per year which allows me to store doorbell history for 3 months, this is useful I have recorded a recent Amazon delivery which took 20 seconds from the time the van stoped at my house to the time it left, and that included the door bell. Over the years only once have I been able to answer the door via my phone, it was a bottle of gas delivery the guy was waiting for the empty, I was half an hour away, they should have given me a delivery date. Its useful, but not as good as the ads make out.
