Gaggia Brera Cleaning and Descaling

At the request of a viewer see my weekly cleaning routine, followed by descaling when indicated by the machine.

Wow. You’re the man. Subscribed bcs of your handle. My mother-in-law was called Willy and you even remind me of wonderful her. But, I house sit with a Brera Gaggia. I have descaled it, but it still squeaks, so I think it needs the tlc so accessibly shown by you. I can’t wait to house sit again with this fine piece of equipment. 💛

This is the only Gaggia instruction video that actually makes sense. It's easy to follow. My only suggestion would be to mention approximately how much time elapses between each of the cycles before the next cycle begins. Thanks for a great instructional video

Thank you I have had this machine for 3 months and have tried several times, unsuccessfully, to descale my machine and the decade solution is a bit spendy! The instructions are also difficult to follow my husband was unsuccessful as well! Your vedio was very helpful!

Hi Lori, glad the vid was helpful, the instructions are not too clear, things to remember the tank must be full to max de-scaler and water, and the machine must be in standby when the two brew buttons are pressed. Many thanks for your comment its so nice to hear from my viewers.

Thank you, Willy, for your excellent explanation. Truly helpful! Did you ever use the de-scaling programme without the de-scaling symbol showing before? I tried it with my machine and it seems like it doesn't work. Happy to hear from your experience.

Hi Monja, many thanks for your comment I do appreciate it, I haven't de-scaled my machine without the warning light being on, according to the instructions I should de-scale more frequently as I live in a hard water area, however without the light I just can't remember.

Is there a way to manually descale the Brera?

Hi there, as far as I'm aware the only method of descaling is with the programme, however this is not fully automatic, manual intervention is required turning the control knob left or right at various points of the cycle as indicated on the display. Many thanks for your comment its much appreciated.
