I bought the STL for the 3D printed Titanic engine, but I can't make myself spend all that time printing and sanding. Then there's this, which might be a bit flimsy. Choices, choices. I just want a big Titanic engine in my house and dunno which one to build, haha.
@EverythingAnthonySOS3 ай бұрын
Do the 3d print, far better detail and quality, this model is expensive and takes a lot of work, I personally wouldn't recommend it.

i am currently building the same set and i am around 75% complete. unfortunately my model will not run for more than 30-ish seconds before the bricks holding the motors and gear train together come apart and the gears loose mesh. i am very close to using some super glue to keep the affected bricks held together. i was wondering if you have had any of the same issues?
@EverythingAnthonySOS6 ай бұрын
Yes I found the bonding of the bricks very poor in places and the need for super glues is a must for any success

@@EverythingAnthonySOS Is your projected launch sight, close by? Here at my house, my backyard is a very lrg pond. Beautiful sunrises every morning during summer months, up until November. The only thing missing is the silhouette of the Titanic cruising by...lol. back to the capacity of your Titanic I think a 2 person craft is safer than one. If trouble ever occurs it would be better if the captain, has a deck hand to help each other in case of an emergency! And rather than crawling thru a hole or hatch to board your craft, maybe having a large portion of the superstructure, be designed to be held in place by gravity alone, this way in case it capsizes that whole portion can fall away for an easier escape! When I had my ship of Dreams I thought of a 2 person craft sitting in tandem or back to back, I think this would disperse the weight more evenly, rather than a side by side configuration, and it would also help during docking to have another set of eyes watching the stern section for easier maneuvering. 😎👍

I've been watching your build and the anticipation is killing me, I once had this same dream. But out of wood, but I lacked the space to build it, I surely didn't want it sitting out in the elements when seasons change. So with much regret I abandoned the dream. I must ask the question is this going to be a ride in replica and how many will she carry? As a suggestion for portholes and other lights think of using fiber optics, would definitely save space. Okay man can't wait for your next video.
@EverythingAnthonySOS8 ай бұрын
It will be a ride in representation, functioning boiler and steam engine, carrying capacity will be determined after the machinery is installed and her stability trials with people moving around.... Video has taken a little longer than expected, I can assure you the hull is progressing well and I'm hoping to have a video soon with a walk around
@jackvolta34898 ай бұрын
@@EverythingAnthonySOS very impressive! Steam boilers Wow you're going all out! Amazing 🤩 when I had my ship of Dreams, I thought of using troll motors, a lot ppl don't know that the shaft that holes the prop is hollow and only wires go thru the hollow, therefore it can be separated and utilized as separate components and placed in different locations depending on how much maneuverability you would need during docking or whatever. In any case my man, more ideas is a lot better than none. I'll be watching. 😜👍👍
