You don’t need to go with a Mercedes sprinkler van. They are so many other vans out there. You don’t need to go with Mercedes so guys if you wanna start a sprinter van cargo van company you do not have to go with our Mercedes.

Great video. Question: I would like to retrofit my Ekko cassette toilet by replacing the “suitcase “ cassette with the Trekker “guts.” This way I have the regular toilet “look”, ability to swivel the seat, and the individual waste bags are easily retrieved from the outside of the van when convenient. Do you think my idea is doable or impossible? I need to see the “guts” of the trekker without the outside box cage . Thanks! Keep up the great videos!

Thats a great idea! I'm not too familiar with the internals on each of the products so I'm not sure how compatible they'd be with another without having to do a lot of machining. Definitely keep us updated on your progress!

Thank you for explaining wheel offset. Jeremy what is your opinion on the MB stock steel wheels? Cosmetically they are not as cool but how are they functionally for off-roading 1-3 difficulty trails?
@VanLand2 күн бұрын
You should be fine with minimal off-roading, however when the tread does run out i'd still go with an All Terrain Tire

This is an amazing way to do your van with pre-made components all while saving tons of time. However, I don't see how this system can be used with beautifully stained shiplap or tongue and groove. Also, all those screw tops and holes do not look good. The edges of some of the pieces look unfinished and the cabinet designs look dull and uninteresting. In general, it's a phenomenal system, but the final finishes look dull and well, unfinished.

I just had this issue and it turns out my 4 LOW RANGE system was active which prevented the 4x4 system from disengaging. Probably a weird glitch. Steps I took to fix this: - put the van in N - click the 4 LOW button (picture of a van going up a hill) - put it R then D - put the van back in N - click the 4WD button - put it in R then D After that I was back in 2WD. I did not have to drive around but you might. Hope this helps someone.

All the suggestions out there and this is the one that worked and makes total sense. Too bad Mercedes didnt think to identify this procedure in the manual or if it is in the manual, make it easy to find
@octane_ape12 күн бұрын
@@mikedearborn3775 more like too bad they didn't make it a simple knob to get into 4 high and 4 low. I might mod this system later. Perhaps reuse a part from another manufacturer. That will be much later though but at least it's reversible.

The video is a couple of years old. While I can appreciate the effort the video editor put into this, man at about 6 min in, there is a high frequency whiring like a car alarm going off and it's either the nat sound or the music or a combination of both, but it makes this video unwatchable past the halfway mark. Ufff😢 what a shame. Good delivery of information but the audio just sucks.

This product is nice, but I think I have found a better option. I just purchased an Etaker combined alternator and solar charger that can accept between 300, 400, or 500 selectable watts input from your alternator, and up to 500 watts of input from solar panels, and combines those inputs into a 48 volt, 1000 watt output, that can charge many of the large power stations very effectively. I have a pair of Anker Solix F2000 power stations, that can accept 1000 watts of solar panel input for charging, when the voltage is between 32 to 60 volts, but only 10 amps if the voltage is between 12 and 31 volts. I will probably also get a drop down converter, so I can also charge stand alone 12 volt LiFePo batteries, as I have also just added two 300 amp/hour mini WattCycle 12 volt batteries to my RV electric system as back up storage capacity. The Etaker ?1000 (can't remember what letter comes before the 1000 in the name), was cheaper than the ecoflow, but now I see claims that some people have bought the ecoflow alternator charger for around $200, which is a great price for what you are getting, and considerably cheaper than the original price I saw for it, and one of the reasons I went with the Etaker.

@ Thanks, I try to make the best informed decisions I can, because I’m on a very limited retirement income. I’m still working on the final design for my DIY camping trailer because it’s going to be an expanding type, so that complicates the build a lot. I hope to start construction on it very soon and have it finished before the end of this coming summer.

Viewers needed to see the top of roof for vent ports and the interior Mechanicals of the van since so many features are powered. Interested in batts to switches to actuators wiring. Then the table hinge stops, shower riser tracks, televator slides, bed cantelever sliders, water tanks and heater. I see a lot of complex actuators needed, tracks, slides to stay plumb, squared and level without under and over extending ... those fittings are tempermental and costly, instead of simple manual versions like a crank out/up or like the table & shades pulls. Cost and warranty must be outrageously high if not sharing here, im guessing $300k+ US and 1 year, If he only makes one a year, think of the high margin he needs to add, to support his shop and a home there. Gretch can do this level quality and they also charge appropriately high for it but is a higher volume production. For fulltimers having no sports/equip garage storage is a unlikely tradeoff for that streamlined bed interior window lounge. I'll bet they need a big box on the rear bumper. Thanks for sharing what you can.

Most vans use wood for the interior and "furniture". The problem is that wood absorbs moisture and swells and eventually can have mold and mildew problems. A much better solution is to use aluminum furniture. (It also adds less weight to your vehicle.) I've seen a number of vans that have the interior removed and replaced after a few years due to moisture problems.....

Another great video. Thanks! I share the concern voiced @ 4:45 (overtaxing the alternator) and reached out to Ecoflow support twice. They did not understand the scenario. NOT confidence-inspiring. From other videos, I gathered that the Ecoflow device pulls the full 800W at idle, which seems like a possible problem for almost any alternator, even an upgraded alternator.
@VanLand29 күн бұрын
Hi there! thank you for supporting us by watching our videos! I agree that 800w at idle might be taxing on the alternator. An exception to this would potentially be an upgraded alternator or potentially even a second alternator.

This design is okay but i do have a few cons everyone has mentioned the pros. First off, the windows in Canada?😂 that's going to be miserable in the winter. Secondly, Windows and no Max Air fan? That's gonna to have so much condensation in the winter. There is going to be mold everywhere. That van is going to get mold everywhere. Even in spring all the rain and humidity in the air is going to cause allot of condensation on the windows😂 It's more of a Florida/Cali or dessert build. I wouldn't take it to Canada in the winter😂 Not a four season van. Don't get me wrong, this build is absolutely amazing and has unique designs unlike anything out here. Just wanted to point out the cons.
