Controller should know that with stress and anxiety your hearing is the first thing to go so him being slightly aggressive is just making him worse hence why he got all instructions wrong. There’s a time to get your point across but not when a pilot in on the controls

I hope this ATC is not still working in a tower. He just created the 'S' and the 'E' in IM SAFE. To top it off this is a student pilot, but even if it was not, it was clearly someone who was having difficulty for WHATEVER reason and the controller just put this pilot and everyone in the near vicinity in danger. As a student pilot myself, watching this video made me realize the lack of training that controllers have. This particular ATC not only has an EQ of 0 but he appears to not even know what EQ is. He is like a monkey.

Скорее всего он не идиот просто его сразу начали прессовать руководство инспекция спроси спроси спроси а почему вибрация а почему то почему это. Спроси! Слышь спроси! Типа им сразу какой то отчет написать надо . Поэтому вместо того чтобы просто векторами он начинает тупые вопросы задавать а свисс их не ждёт

Pilot likely never joined a circuit at base and heard "downwind" when the controller said base. And the controller is a dickwad.

Embarrassing behavior and completely unable to put his ego aside and admit he was wrong. I know often times, I receive a heading and wonder about it but, I still feel like at least they know where you’re at and what you’re doing and where they’re trying to put me. Anything that crosses me through an approach or a departure leg, I repeat it back very slowly, especially at pattern altitude.

With the wind 320 deg mag, and 10/15/20 knots I can understand why the captain of the B767-200 was reluctant to accept Rwy22. The question May asked why RWY31 was not the preferred RWY. I think was a brief post about one of 31 RWYs was out of service.

All of this, and then both pilots realize that they'd been driven to distraction just after take-off, and had forgotten to place the gear lever into the up position. A promise of buffalo wings for lunch (by a flight attendant on the intercom) might have caused the distraction.

One problem i notice here is that Kennedy ATC people speak english rapidly and colloquially, like native speakers, and that they have little consideration for pilots that are not as fluent in English. I think a new policy is needed here.

I somehow missed this from way back, but thanks big time for sharing it. What an amazing job by the flight crew. With the possible exception of the Cactus flight crew's landing on the Hudson, this has to be the most professional, calm, and in control crew ever. The crew preemptively notified approach of the souls on board, specific plan to extend the downwind and shoot the approach, and adding a little humor no doubt helped ensure top performance by keeping calm and professional. I hope I never get on a Mayday flight, but if I do I hope it is this crew. Also great job by the controllers. If anyone knows the flight crew pass this on and tell them I'd love to buy them a cup of Tim Horton's, plus all the wings they can eat.

As a pilot I would call and have the tape pulled. He had no right to talk to them that way when it started with his F up.
