That controller was superb. You could only occasionally tell how busy he was from the stress in his voice but not once did he get 'angry' unlike lots of other controllers i have heard and under much less stress. Not the funniest or easiest to listen to but by far the best professional controller I have listened to EVER.

I can only imagine the amount of stress the controller was dealing with, but he remained calm and proffesional.

I'm glad planes were able to divert to France. Good job handling that with no co-worker help. I'm sure he got a good night (morning) sleep.

Isn't ATC protocol for all communications to be in English?
@nightjarflying9 жыл бұрын
According to the Wike on ATC: "Pursuant to requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), ATC operations are conducted either in the English language or the language used by the station on the ground. In practice, the native language for a region is normally used; however, the English language must be used upon request."

Cliffjumper24 Air traffic controllers must be able to work in English, but other official ICAO languages can be used if pilot and ATC both speak it: along with English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, French are official ICAO languages.
