We get issued 16 inch carbine length with fsp and drop in quad rail. Yes it can do the job but we are allowed to purchase and use our own so I have a 11.5 bcm with a sandman S, eotech and arisaka light. We are required to use 55gr hornady TAP which has caused me to consider buying a 14.5 upper do to not knowing how effective that 55gr TAP may or may not be out of an 11.5 inch.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol issues Colt Enhanced Patrol Rifles with ambidextrous safety levers and ambidextrous charging handles. We are issuing aim point duty RDS optic but have been unimpressed with the battery life versus Aimpoints stated numbers. We are a can have agency for weapon lights and we recommend Surefire, Stream Light, or Mod Light. We issue 2 point Ferro concepts slingster slings and utilize battle bands for sling retention. We do allow approved personally owned weapons. They go through a course and approval process to ensure they are duty grade. I currently carry ADM M4 with FN 14-1/2” Chrome Hammer Forged Mid Length barrel. Geissele SSA 2 stage duty grade trigger. Aimpoint Micro T-2 with magnifier all on unity high mounts with flip to center for magnifier. I run a Surfire Light with unity mod button and am a fan of the BCM Haley KAG hand stop. Centrifuge Training Work Gun 2 point Sling. Bravo B5 Stock I run a brake with a AB Suppressor short can. Rifle runs and runs.

That TQ placement does not look comfortable.

If anyone has to provide their own stuff and is looking for a suppressor look into the ocl polonium. It is pretty cheap and is the quietest suppressor you can regularly find. Take care of your hearing yall.

My duty settup is a bcm 11.5 bfh upper and bcm lower. Schmid 2 stage trigger, surefire scout, and vortex 1-6, ocl polonium (quietest there is and pretty cheap). I run it with 77gr otm.

I am not an officer, just a civilian. My rifles are no cheer close to what you describe. What do you think of PSA saber? Ruger? I have a PSA 12.5 55.6 pistol , I beat the shit out it . Probably 4,000 rounds through it. Only change the trigger. And no malfunctions. Can you share your thoughts on this? And thank you for your service.

I would add that even though these pistols are different, they are all striker fired pistols. Just think if someone goes from a striker fired pistol to a single action cocked and locked .

If 10" is considered the realistic shortest, and 18" is considered the realistic longest, then 14" is best do-it-all barrel length

Man the rifle engagements I’ve had, were at 100 yards and with a Eotech. That’s when I found out how valuable magnification is and went to a LPVO and learned to do everything with that optic.

Here's one for you. About 70-plus years ago, in the 1950s, the New York State Police used Winchester 94s in .30-30 as their patrol rifles. Yeah, it has zero relevance to the patrol rifle debate today, unless you live in a State that has restrictions on ARs and AKs ... such as New York State.

Patrol has DD R3's, Huxwork cans, swat has KAC Cqb Mod2's with the Kac K cans. BE Meyers Mawl etc.

Dont work for an "Agency" but Triarc does alot of LE contracts, waiting on my LE trade in SBR from Triarc to get released from congressional purgatory. I am excited to see Faxin now building suppressors, the factory is 20 minutes from my door, and hoping the made in texas suppressor case builds ground and it will in turn spread, and this garbage with suppressors goes away.

I'm wanting to move my agency from 16" Bushmasters with some China 50 lumen crappy light to SOLGW 14.5 Exo with Surefire turbo lights. I almost had the deal made but we are going through a change of command which put a pause in the purchase. I was almost able to get new optics, the Aimpoint duty rds but we ran out of money. So we are probably going to swap over our Aimpoint Pros. I'm grandfathered in and get to carry a 14.5 BCM with T2 and Rein 3.0. Radian CH, bolt catch and safety selectors. Geissele SSA trigger.

Just got one and it’s very very nice for the money. I plan to get the plate carrier and possibly the backpack which interfaces with both the chest rig and the plate carrier. I do wish that they had an x harness option as well, but that’s just personal preference/my body composition (and I’m sure I could just buy one elsewhere) The backpack also comes with a heavier duty harness for the rig with a chest strap which I really like. If you are looking at buying one of these I would not hesitate.

Just upgraded to DDM4V7s. Had to compromise with the optics so we ended up with the Eotech 512. Stream light weapon light and Magpul two point slings. All in all pretty happy, especially considering they were initially going to buy Palmetto AR’s.

Sionics Patrol Carbine is IMO the best bang for most departments buck . Sionics has metric crap ton of LE / SWAT Contracts . Surely there is better options but Sionics makes IMO the best bang for your buck . I know i would want the absolute best i could afford. I think most could Sionics whether its individual or whole department .

My agency still issues out Adam’s Arms even though they just went out of business again. The rifle I used in my shooting was an 11 inch Adam’s Arms. But we are slowly switching to the SigM400.

My agency issues 11.5 Springfield Saints with eotechs and enforce lights and gem tech suppressor. We’re slowly switching to ADM 14.5’s and 13.9’s but that’s a long time in the making. Since I’m on SWAT I can change whatever I want, so I opted for my Sig 4T Pro and a Cloud 3.0. I don’t hate the Springfield, but it’s heavy for an 11.5. My BCM/Criterion frankenbuild with the same set up is lighter. We also run 55 grain Gold Dot but there are talks of getting us 77g OTM. I’m very impressed on how much my agency listens to us gun guys and takes things into account. Our training budget is also ridiculously generous.

What about DSArms patrol rifle? What’s your opinion on them?

You all should do some research into HM Defense. Bomb proof AR platform.
