I've been a proton user since it came out but now I'm thinking it is not worth it. What does it really accomplish? Anytime you send to somebody else outside of the proton domain the email and its contents are available to all. So if you want privacy you must use pgp anyways so it doesn't matter what email provider you use. I think the real problem is saving your email in all its glory on your hard disk. So you can find things with a grep. Or put it through some program to see what it looked like originally. Can neomutt do this?

It's not awesome.It's crap. 👎👎Why? Because, You cannot watch a specific minute of video, it opens a new web page every time. But Logseq is awesome for this. Copy url and paste it and watch every time.

Amazing video thank you! I'm looking for an FOSS solution that will give me 1 .md file with all news for each RSS feed, so I can easily access their content in Obsidian. Might have to build it!
@BryanJenks
@BryanJenks Ай бұрын
that doesnt sound too crazy at all, even a home grown solution should be fairly easy. for instance commafeed backs up everything to my postgres database so selecting the articles from there and then converting the format or just fetching the content from the URLs to convert to the markdown files or even just listening to the RSS feed from an active service are all fairly easy things to setup :D

Is there a way to have the notes created using your breadcrumb technique to appear in my weekly folder. It seems to create the note in my root folger. specifically talking about the last <-- --> next "breadcrumb" query

mmmmm maybe is part of the link is automatically appended like `[[foldername/test/2024-11-27]] <== TODAY ==> [[2024-11-29]] but when i do that it doesnt apply the daily notes template, would have to insert that manually or set up some other automation option

For everyone wondering, it was actually quite simple: just open two windows of the same note. In one of them, use Ctrl+P and then open Media. In the other window, you can get the current timestamp (you can go into the settings of Obsidian and add a hotkey for the timestamp feature). Then, when you click something, you can decide, for example, to use Alt+P as your personal choice. This will insert the timestamp into the note window-the one that hasn’t changed into a video container. I just wonder why some video tutorials show the video inside the note, like over the notes, while I can't do that. Anyway, what I’ve explained is the process to work with local videos from start to finish. (Obviously, you’ll need to install the community plugin first and enable it in the settings).

I want to give the entire credit to my PhD in pharmaceutical sciences to Bryan Jenks helping me to create a seemless workflow between Obsidian and Zotero using the powerful system both you and Danny Hatcher graciously posted on the internet for FREE mind you...for FREE. I'm a neurodivergent woman and I have never found a better software program explained by two more incredible humans than these two gentlemen. Thank you Bryan Jenks for a vid that I've spent countless hours taking notes on to hone a system that works. I'll be leaving a similar comment to Danny Hatcher as well as his series helped me build my own PhD vault for Obsidian. You rock!!! I had a cat named Thor growing up too! lol

I received a prescription from my doctor for a vaccine I can optionally get. But there are a lot of steps involved because I have to use this prescription to get the vaccine myself and then make an appointment to have the doctor give it to me. So I put it on the fridge with a magnet so it's in plain sight at all times. It has now in my brain melted into the fridge's surface where I sporadically notice it and then feel guilty but also unable to actually get this whole process started because there are so many steps involved.

yeah, the visual blending of the environment is a problem in many facets, both for unconscious stress, but also because we gloss over it and anything important there. thats why i set intrusive notifications to manage my life so i just listen and always respect the notifications like reminders to take my meds

i actually havent tested this, but i think you may be able to setup some automation or code to filter out the images imported based on that color but it would be a bit more technical that just updating a setting in the menu

I made an appointment with a PCP and will hopefully get a referral to a psychiatrist. People say it’s not a silver bullet, but at the same time I feel like the anxiety and stress generated from trying to overcome my difficulties cause an avalanche of downstream effects including substance abuse, poor diet, an inability to clean my apartment, and bad sleep. I feel like my software engineering job does *not* help. My job requires executive function, so much of it is determining the best task to do next, how to do a task, so many decisions. I don’t know if I can get by purely on CBT due to this. When I worked a physical job in a warehouse I did not have these mental issues. But I can’t quit this job because the income is life changing. So I want to try medication so I can live a more balanced life while still working this job

Apparently the language used in the original title was seen as problematic by some for its assumption that "Self Hosted Period Tracking App For Your Menstruatiing Partner 🩸" is assuming that the one running the home lab is not the one who menstruatins implying that the one who menstruates is always the OTHER party relying on the home lab maintainer. I can see the point in this criticism, ultimately i obviously wasn't intending anything remotely negative by this video, only to highlight a project in my special interest (tech) that i got to apply to my real life to the benefit of both me and my partner and the title was set from MY frame of reference, in that i AM the one with the home lab and my partner is the one who menstruates. The original title however doesn't imply anything about relational norms so to assume that a man is running the homelab is reaching in my opinion as it doesn't exclude the possibility of, say, a lesbian running the homelab for their menstruating partner. so the default assumption of cishet male and female relational norms is a problematic assumption on the part of others. overall i hope that by changing the title, and by elaborating here further, my innocent intention and positive outcome from this project will shine through, because i was just happy to help my fiance and we worked on this together and she loves it. so sorry if i upset anyone, hopefully we can get back to enjoying the video and nerding out on the tech :) 0:00:40 This video is about periods 0:02:12 The app infrastructure 0:03:28 The application in all its glory 0:06:45 App views data table and analytics 0:08:48 Daily Digest Notifications of Menstrual Cycle Phases 0:12:13 Grow Up 0:13:17 docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vCP4HJGB8fZFG0ZlvbeWVikga7mxQGlSkRI9VDO8M3o/edit?usp=sharing 0:14:02 Outro

I wonder if RSD (related to my mom and dad) and grandiose imagination and thoughts because of undiagnosed ADHD made me decide as an 11 year old, that I was ok with going to a boarding school in another country (where I ended up staying for a few years, not completely by choice). Which in turn exacerbated very traumatic feelings of abandonment. I mean what 11 year old makes a crazy decision like that?! 😢
