Myeah… my mom stupidly tested this “if it’s safe to eat then it’s safe to put on your skin” hypothesis and put a slice of garlic on her face over something she thought it’s ward and slept with it overnight. Now, after 70 years of perfect skin she has that one scar from chemical burn. Expensive lesson.

What we need is to walk in a salon, tell us what type hair we have , then give us a list of products to try and how to use them. I’ve wasted so much money on products that don’t work on my hair type.

Recent subscriber to your channel. This video is HUGE for me! I desperately need help for how to take care of my hair. My mother was basically useless for teaching me, because it felt like torture letting her "care" for my hair as a child. She has wavy hair. I have very curly hair. She would use brushes on my dry hair to untangle my hair. She was always trying to be rough and fast. Ugh.

I have curly hair. Was always told it waa dry. I use hydrating products...it still feels like straw. What do I use now? In humidity it looks like I sruck my finger in a light socket. Ughhhh tired of the constant dry frizzzzz!!!! HELP!!!

I just read allll my hair care products as a 4c/kinky curly hair girl. I don’t see that mentioned on a singleeeee product that specifically markets to kinky hair, but I do see it for more straight wavey hair products. I wonder why that is?

My hair is thinning. I have to use hair fibers which is bad for your scalp but i don't really have a choice. No one can figure out why it's happening.

Please talk about synthetic tocopherol. It’s everywhere in skincare, but there are a few studies that point to it being carcinogenic. Also to tocopherol esters accelerating cancer caused by uv light (in mice). It’s super confusing to someone who is not very familiar with chemistry

I also have trichotillomania (eyebrows and eyelashes), and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for addressing It the way you did , and not in the "terrible shaming secret" way that most of us feel when we have to Talk about It. ❤

Wow I'm actually shocked, I looked at products in disgust if they still had parabens!! But... I do think phenoxyethanol is harmful, so I prefer products with food grade preservatives like potassium sorbate, if it's safe to eat and protects our food from microbes then it can protect our beauty products.

I ditched all the "snake oil" products and my scalp and hair is so much healthier. Drugstore silicone free shampoo and conditioner, I save the silicones for my styler/leave in (mousse or leave in cream). That's all that's in my hair arsenal and I finally have good scalp and can go to day three without hair feeling disgusting. A lot of great advice from this channel lead me to this.

Clicked this so fast ha! This video is so informative!!! Thank you so much for putting all the time and effort into making this. ❤ I recently started using shampoo bars that I get from my local farm. The lady who makes them only uses essential oils/herbs that’s beneficial for skin and hair. Made a huge. I don’t even buy hair products at the store.

I hear so much chatter about castor oil. Especially for growing thicker hair on the eyebrows and eyelashes. There are vast amounts of 'miracles' attributed to this one little oil. What do you know about it? Are any of them true? (I'm pretty sceptical when it comes to scientific research to begin with so I'd like to know what is the data?)

I like that you mentioned the Loreal Elvive! I have had bleached hair for over 10 years, started using the hyaluron one last year and really liked it. I had used redken (a blue damage one) and had my hair falling out (not broken, since it had regrowth!). I tried using the elvive nutrient for a while, haven't liked it as much as the hyaluron!

4C hair needs hydration oils and butters to grow, since they cant get teheir natural oils due to the tight coil or curl inside their follicle, that does not get down to the hair shaft, not all hair is the same. Fine hair do not need oils at all, they are doing this copying 4C hair, they have abundant natural oils, protecting hydration, after a basic shampoo and conditioner!

Lol, this is my second video to ever view from your channel. True Story: the first video , that I viewed from You was about Hair products and DRY vs WET Hair...there was so much chemistry ( great examples)., that I "saved" that particular video. But instead of 'saving' it to my "Hair" playlist... I created a new playlist, " CHEMISTRY""!! Tis why, I'm laughing because in your 2nd video, this One, you clearly stated that You are a CHEMIST! THANK YOU SO MUCH FO YOUR EXPLANATION and Videos! I can't wait to learn more!!!

I DIDN'T LOVE MYSELF?? LET ME DEBUNK YOU. WE ARE NOT TO LOVE ONESELF. WE ARE TO LOVE G-D FIRST AND THEN TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER. WHEN YOU FOLLOW REAL SCIENCE (G-D) YOU WILL START TO UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE TO BE HUMBLE WITH A QUIET SPIRIT NOT DRAWING ATTENTION TO ONESELF. PRIDELESS BECAUSE G-D HATES PRIDE. AND WE ARE TO BE OBEDIENT AND PLEASING TO G-D AND HIS WRITINGS. IT STARTS WITH REPENTANCE.

Late to the party, but I started with supergoop unseen sunscreen until I found the trader Joe's dupe. I work at a nursery, so sunscreen is a must. I feel like the supergoop was more prone to stinging my eye if it got into the corners vs the trader joes version. It also seemed like the trader joes seemed to last longer than the super goop, but it could be that I may have wiped some of it off and then began feeling the sun sooner. Just my two cents 😊 If you have a chance to do more trader Joe skincare reviews, I am some of my friends would love that!

Idk as someone who grew up with scientist parents, science can be just as much of a cult as the anti vax movement. Take black box warnings for example. I had terrible dandruff my whole life until i started using olive oil soap my friends family makes in lebanon. Gone.
