The Imams of Ahle Bait were great Muslims but they were only humans.The prophet Muhammad S.A.W never mentioned the names of the twelve imams in the Sihah i Sitta.If the Twelver Shia claim that the prophet Muhammad S.A.W refer to the twelve caliphs as the twelve imams why are Shias divided into Twelvers,Ismailis and Zaidis

Not all the Imams of Ahle Bait were caliphs.It was only Hazrat Ali and his son who Hazrat Imam Hasan were caliphs of the Muslim empire.From Hazrat Imam Husain upto the 11th Imam Hazrat Hasan al Askari were all spiritual leaders of the Muslims.As for the twelfth Imam the Sunnis dispute this as they say that the Mahdi have not been born yet.Also the hadith of the 12 caliphs in the Sihah i Sitta does not refer to the twelve Imams as it does not mention their names.Sunni Muslims revere the Imams of Ahle Bait from Hazrat Ali upto the 11th Imam Hazrat Hasan al Askari but deny the existence of the twelfth imam.Soory i mean no offence to my Shia brethren but only state what is truth.
