*It needs to be reiterated that Hijab means dressing modestly!* Hijab is *not just to hide/cover the hair,* the clothes too can't be fitted, revealing the body's shape!

But now its these influencers with no actual substance. Everything is fake, the face, the lifestyle, the character.

The word HIJAB is used in the Quran but not for ladies. How can a religion claiming to be Guidance for all of Mankind be promoting to people in far off freezing lands to wear the clothing of the desert which is needed in SandStorms? The Quran gives importance to ‘Aamaal’ (Deeds) and it does not promote any such beards and hijabs but the sources and explanations of the Sect chiefs among these people do that, each Sect does not agree with the other on many points. - Quran only says: “Covering over the Jayb” in Q24.31 “put forth the KHIMARs over the JAYBs” in Quran 33.59 “JILBABs over themselves “ - root of the word KHIMAR is COVERING JAYB is a pocket like opening in the dress - mostly translated as bosoms/chest coz that’s where they understand that the Jayb is. JILBAB is decent outer clothing (any decent clothing worn over the underwear - not necessarily a third layer)

Hijab is not a fashion statement. It means barrier. It means modesty not just covering for a piece of hair. Being on public platform, imitating the non Muslims, turning hijab into something to show off it doesn't get U to a good place. It changes you. I mean your company is them. Your company is supposed to be someone you race with towards Jannah.

This was such a nice video sis 😓 it’s the sad reality that happens on and off camera. Whenever I hear sisters explanations behind it I see a deeper routed problem that most don’t even realize. I really understand why most sisters don’t want to talk about this problem, since speaking out about our obligation to wear it, pushes many in this seemingly “extremist” position. We all know what ﷲ swt wants but society and fear of backlash let’s us quiet down when we need to speak the most. May ﷲ swt make it easy for all of us❤️

Not a choice but Command from Allah. But when someone take it off, others don’t have to vilify them. Yes , they will be questioned by Allah. Only they and Allah really know the reason for their taking off of Hijab. What others can do is make dua for them or can give them advice only if one is sincerely wishing good for them. There is no point in hating and giving bad comments, that will never help.

This is western opinion don't judge etc. It isn't an Islamic view many don't realise we have hadiths very clear that Muslims should speak up against anything that is unislamic. Enjoin good forbid wrong. In this case where they are seeitn as influencers/role models more reason to warn others in the community. If the Muslim community did have the courage to speak out then it would prevent a lot of sin. We have a hadith it is almost obligatory to speak out. Yes we don't need to do in bad way but we certainly shouldn't ignore or excuse it. Number 1 factor isn't their feelings it is enjoining good & forbidding wrong. They might like but wake call does have better affect than saying nothing

If you need to remove your hijab to “find yourself” then you’ve actually lost yourself to the duniya. Struggling with something isn’t an excuse to completely abandon it. Sometimes it’s hard to find halal food, do we just give in and start eating haram? Sometimes it’s hard to pray 5 times a day, do we abandon our Salah altogether? No. We just try our best. This life is a struggle for the believers. People don’t realise having freedom to practice your religion openly is a privilege not everyone has. On the one hand hijab is getting banned in certain places, and on the other hand women are willingly removing it. Most of the hijabi influencers who took it off, it didn’t even come as a surprise as their general dressing and demeanour was anything but modest. The only one who shocked me was Amena because she actually used to wear it properly and dress accordingly too.

I think the issue is with influencers making money off hijab and then leaving it altogether. For example, both Amina and Dina Tokio’s channel took off due to hijab tutorials and all of a sudden that’s no longer their identity. So, in a way the fans who looked up to them feel deceived. Just like an advertisement which shows you one thing but appears to be something else altogether. I believe it’s wrong to place the influencers on the pedestal and judge them, however if they owned up to their mistakes and offered an explanation, rebranding themselves, people might be less judgemental.
@nj-ce4ow
@nj-ce4ow 2 жыл бұрын
I think it's presumptuous the way people accuse them as if they consciously and sinisterly decided "I'm going to make money off this thing and then abandon it when I take off" it's actually possible that they had the best of intentions all the way through but the pressures, self-esteem issues and other things got to them in the end. I think part of the reason Dina took it off was that the community was very judgemental of how she wore it and attacked her at every opportunity. Damned if you do, damned if you don't with the Muslim community. Also, Dina's followers and viewership has gone down since she took it off. If she's after the fame and money, she would be better off putting the hijab back on. Seems like some have just chosen to be authentic and honest with where they are in their journey and that's okay.
@odessy0000
@odessy0000 2 жыл бұрын
@@nj-ce4ow You are naive to think that Dina and Amena depend solely on KZbin subscribers and viewership to make money. Their fame, which kicked off with hijab and later fashion, paved way to many brand endorsements and marketing and much more. It’s analogous to one of the Mukbang scandals, where one of the youTuber was suggested to have been a fraud who would throw up the food between the shoot, instead of eating it. If either of them were concerned about their own piety, they would not wear hijab and come out on a public platform wearing so much makeup, which defeats the purpose of hijab!

@@odessy0000 I know the hijab opened up many doors and opportunities for them. I'm just saying, these people that sit here acting like they know the exact intentions and thought proccesses of people they see online, making dangerous assumptions as if they are God himself that these women had a sinister plan and put on the hijab only to profit from it and then took it off when it no longer benefitted them. In our religion, that's a pretty big presumption to make and one will have to answer for playing God. I don't know these influencers, I don't know what they went through. I'd rather be charitable and give them the benefit of the doubt then land myself in hell by making assumptions. That's all :)

Also I like following sisters who cover much more than I, like only wearing khimar and even niqab, maybe I’m not at that stage of modesty buts it’s needed to counter the extreme liberal way of clothing we are exposed to nowadays. Over the years when influencers have taken off their hijab, their explanations sometimes baffle me. Some say that taking the hijab off has made them closer to Allah but how does that make sense? When you are now sinning, displeasing Allah Azzawajal and distancing yourself in that way. Also the hijabis I’ve seen that have taken off their hijab they slowly changed their clothing sense and it becomes more revealing and not modest at all. And what saddens me is that they start showing their chest and entire arms like no haya how they used to. So it’s one thing taking the hijab off but whenever I’ve witnessed it on socials it just changes their entire appearance making them more westernised and looking/dressing immodest. I just feel like when these influencers talk about hijab they speak about it in such ways that it made them unhappy, oppressed and make it out like it’s their choice if they can. And if anyone advises them they take the advise in such wrong way and become defensive. Hijab isn’t a choice, it’s an obligation from our Lord Azzawajal but if you aren’t able to take heed then work on it step by step and try it. Ofc it’s never going to happen over night, make lots of du’a and do everything you can. It’s just a way it’s spoken about I dislike a lot and I feel like people live more for social media/influencing. Also when advised just understand why what’s said and thank them for actually caring about you. There are people who can be so horrible about it and ignore them. There will always be people who will come across lovely and then the opposite. But do everything for the sake of Allah, no-one else because that will never get you anywhere. Hijab isn’t easy as it was never for me but following sisters who wear the correct hijab, learning more about the religion and just making du’a has helped me a lot. May Allah Azzawajal keep us all firm and grant us to wear the correct hijab, Ameen 🤎

I've been wearing a scarf a year now. Primary motivation, bad hair days, it's cold, protecting my scalp from sunburn. If someone wants to take off their hijab that's their choice. Doesnt affect me. Yes, men, I'm NOT being regulated by you! I wear it for myself and no one else. Pretty sure God doesnt mind. I've learned many great styles from YT hijabis, but I'm usually seen in a long veiled Israeli tichel variation. Its convenient, convertible (I can tie the veil on top). No, I'm not consistent, but it has been a great way to cover my hair! Summer Update! Hot weather is enough to make anyone rip off their scarf! I have found the perfect item! Stretch lace undercap, and they come in lots of colors! They're so good looking you will want to show it peeking out! Combined with a breathable cotton voile print or chiffon scarf, keep it to 2layers if you can. I know it works because I wore it (and appropriate hijab summer attire) in 105°F heat with a breeze that helped. No sweating! None! I got those lace undercaps on Ebay, they shipped fairly quick. Inexpensive, washable, the most breathable item in my hijab closet. Check it out!

These influencers need to stop beating around the bush with their long winded explanations and just say that they feel like they look better w/o hijab and that they want to style their hair and wear certain outfits and look a certain way. Social media can be toxic in regards to how individuals view themselves and that's exactly what happens to these influencers. They see images of other women w/o hijab and get influenced by their looks, slowly that seed planted in their mind starts to grow and the hijab slowly falls back, hair starts to show then it turns into a turban until it is non existent. It's quite sad as you can almost see it playing out on their IG. We all are on our own path and I do feel bad how Muslim influencers are held to a high standard but we are all human and are not perfect. Everyone including influencers should just be honest with the highs and lows of their iman

Women in general seem to be held to an impossibly high standard, usually by men who themselves flaunt their immorality. I wear what I want, WHEN I want, any man who dares mess with me will find his boxers just a little more roomy when I'm done with him. Who's next? Oh, no no, ladies, no gatekeeping will be tolerated from you either. Ah, that's better! Now, back to my favorite subject, great hijab style, and cool modest attire. I dont wish to come off "apostolic", just a modern female wearing a scarf over appropriate attire. Modest can be modern, even avant garde! I lean toward the avant garde. Etsy has great designers from around the world making beautiful modest clothes from organic fabrics, sustainably sourced. I recommend this platform if you want high style and are tired of the "same old, same old" you're getting from some of the abaya stores. It wont break the bank, youre supporting small business, and the make, quality, and style are over the top! You will not find this quality and custom options anywhere else!

What we need now is a community who is wiser, not easily swayed by trends, fame and money, and can withstand the pressures of society. When we refuse to deviate from Divine standards, have complete tawakul in Allah and His plans, then turning away from Him would be the real struggle. We need to build our sisters up in a way that they would never consider abandoning God's laws, even if the whole world told them to. Our sisters should learn in this modern age and social media age, that khimars, hijabs, jilbabs and niqabs are not fashion statements and they don’t need changing or additions to it. If you are spending more then 5 minutes in getting “dressed” when leaving house, you are missing the point of modesty!

Muslim fashion is the same as any fashion - they try to make themselves the most beautiful possible, with makeup, big scrunchies to have the right sized bun, beautiful clothes, designer purses and on and on. How can you say a hijabi is modest when she wears fake nails, perfume, high heels, a ton of make-up, Gucci purses and other designer clothes ?? We all know this is true!

I see people being harsh to others when they make personal decisions. But I do know that we need to understand that (the Hijab is as obligatory as the five daily prayers), and just as someone or people can completely stop praying one day, just as well someone can stop wearing the Hijab (either for a good, personal, selfish or other reasons). You wouldn't know that a person is not praying the five daily prayers unless they tell you, and the Hijab is more physical (so you can tell)....and though we know that Hijab isn't just the physical clothes we drape around ourselves. We shouldn't feel personally attacked when an influencer or a celebrity makes a personal decision (they could have been a private body, and many people wouldn't give a second to the decision). As a Muslim who struggles with the Hijab and still does, and as many people know, there are valid reasons people have when they make decisions such as taking off the Hijab, when in the public eye, it seems that there is no reason that they shouldn't be fulfilling 'modesty role' or 'Hijab'

this was a great video! Me personally, if I was to take off my hijab & I was a huge impactful influencer, I would still keep it on in front of the camera. Just because I feel like when you have thousands of people looking up to you, you have a social responsibility & I dont want anybody to think that me taking my hijab off has made my life better or "free" & then them emulating my own personal decision. With great power comes great responsibility whether you choose to believe that or not. I also feel like a lot of the influencers didn't agree to the interview because they're embarrassed, honestly.

The wearing of light makeup in public is allowed by several scholars of Islam, including classical scholars. Very notably, it has been reported that the companion of the Prophet SAW ibn 'Abbas RA believed that what was meant by the exemption in the verse "and (they are) not to display their adornments except what is naturally apparent thereof" was kohl (eyeliner/eyeshadow) and rings. By analogy, one can conclude that any type of makeup is permitted to show in public (kohl may have been the only type of makeup that ibn Abbas RA was aware of). Imam al-Tabari, a classical Qur'anic scholar said: "The strongest and most accurate view is that which says that the exemption [in Qur'an 24:31] refers to the face and the hands up to the wrist. Also included are kohl, rings, bracelets, and makeup."

I advise my sisters to dress how the mother of the believers(the prophet’s ﷺ wife) Aisha dressed. It's not for us to determine who Allah is pleased or displeased with. A woman might not be covering and dressing immodestly and yet she could be praying all of her prayers, have very good akhlaq, and otherwise be obeying Allah SWT and she might have a very high rank in His eyes. On the other hand, you might have a woman who is covered head to toe who doesn't do all of her prayers and who habitually slanders people. This latter person might be less in the sight of Allah SWT than the sister who is uncovered. I know many non hijabi sisters who always pray and are otherwise very mindful of Allah SWT. Covering is just one aspect of a woman's religion, and we shouldn't judge how near to Allah our sisters are based just upon now they are dressed. It is sad that hijab has become the sixth pillar of Islam to many. It isn't.

I think we as an audience and ummah need to introspect and see who we are revering or allowing to “influence” us. Our goals as hijabis and as Muslims should be to do what makes God happy. We wear hijab and behave modestly for His happiness. No one else’s opinion should matter. We should wear our hijab for God alone, and that will keep us from removing it and also from being disappointed in those that do remove it. We should look up to people for their faith in God and for their piety, not for their follower count on social media.

I think a lot of what we're witnessing is a consequence of wider society's issues - materialism, vanity, shallowness, capitalism and an obsession with women's physical beauty. As a society (Muslim and non-Muslim) we need to work harder to support girls and women to develop their self-worth through things like their character and achievements. I was shocked after I knew this information from the Muslim scholars themselves and from the main Islamic books .. people need to read and search about Islam and use their minds .. now I am against Hijab because it's a definition of racism .. but still respect the hijabi women because they have no idea about their relagion they just follow the Muslim scholars blindly unfortunately as I was following them blindly too .. but thank God we woke up ..

Hijab should be very comfortable if worn simply and properly. The proper and best way is to wear a hijab that falls from the head to the elbows (or longer if the lady prefer) it should fall like a curtain covering her entire frame including shoulders , air could easily pass through. The fashion hijabi drapes it around their neck which looks very uncomfortable and suffocating.

Hello and blessings! A Christian woman here. I think this was very well done and I enjoyed the discussion. The problem I see with this movement of removing the veil, which the young woman at the end spoke to, is the present idea in our culture of "doing you" and following your heart. [In Christianity] we are called to lean not on our own understanding and that, by nature, the heart is wicked and deceitful. We are sinful humans whose feelings are fluctuating constantly. Are we to form any life decisions based on a fleeting heart? I would say, absolutely not. So we are called to do the will of God, not our own. In my opinion, what I see in these influencers who have removed their veil, is the need to fit into the current culture. Maybe they don't even realize it. The enemy works to make us question our relationship with God, what He wants from us, and how we are to go about it. Culture is the biggest influencer and that's what Satan uses, like the psychologist said, through social contagion. I would challenge those women to remove social media and not the veil and see if they still felt the same way. Furthermore, because the veil is an outward symbol of the inner process of sanctification and desire to serve the Almighty, I would question, where they stand in their belief in God and what is their desire to serve God and His kingdom. I would suffice to say there really is no other question after that because the answer to that tells all. If you aren't seeking sanctification and a relationship with the Most High, then what would be the purpose to wear it? The problem is deeper than removing the veil; it's a heart problem. They don't seem to have allowed or even asked God to renew their hearts and minds, so as not to conform to this world, so they fall victim to it. Feminism has done nothing for [Western] women, other than convince them of the enemy's lies. New age feminism is in fact removing the feminity from our women, making them think they have to have and do it all, all the while neglecting to do and be who God has called us to be. I'm sure that is influencing their decisions as well. So many Bible verses came to mind and I want to share some of them. Especially for young women who might be struggling with holiness due to cultural pressures. God bless 🤍 ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬ [9] The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5‭-‬6‬ ‭NIV‬‬ [5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; [6] in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Romans 12: 1-2 [1] Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. [2] Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing, and perfect will. ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭NIV‬‬ [33] But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 18:7 “Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes! ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:23‬ ‭NIV‬‬ [23] Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.

NO. no. no. Just stop. Islam acknowledges that human beings are with human flaw. We struggle to stay on the correct path, we have to push ourselves and work on our connection to Allah swt, EVERY day, because we will continue to keep coming across new struggles in this life until we finally leave it. If we did not struggle, if it was not hard on both our mind and our heart to follow the path of our religion, then why would we get a reward for it? Islam acknowledges that even the Prophets peace be upon had emotional struggles with the trials they faced and they all had moments of resolve where they turned to Allah swt and asked him to show them the solutions to their problems and how they can keep their resolution strong. Don’t ever shame other muslim women, your own sisters, for being able to express their feelings, to ask for comfort and respectful support and guidance. They are expressing the difficulties they face when they go in public as a hijab wearing woman, the way their society treats them, the way they may struggle with body dysmorphia, the way that the environment can physically can very difficult on them depending on how hot their country is on a daily basis, and these are just the basics. They are human and them sharing the difficulties they face as they are actively making the effort to follow their religion and wearing the hijab, is not an outlet for you t shame them and silence them. They are doing something that is difficult on many levels, an act of fearlessness in non-muslim countries, to go out everyday and publicly identify as a muslim. May Allah swt reward them tremendously for their “ struggle “ that you are telling them to stay silent about. No, it is not just between them and Allah swt when it comes to the aspect of sharing their experiences because more often than not they just need some support and instead what do people do? They attack and shame them. That is what is wrong. That is the action that needs to stop.

It is your journey with your religion. People can advise what they think is the best for you (it is a wonderful thing to want the best for others), but they have no right to order you to do so or treat you any worst from not doing what they adviced. Influencers had been always showing their life journey, struggles and share their own thoughts or opinions. In this case many women might have felt pressure to wear it (at least on camera) and were scared of the hate comments, seeing others doing what they also wanted to gave them strength to come out with it as well. Rather than being scared of young girls getting influenced by them and follow somebody blindly instead of forming their own opinion, let's teach our kids that learning, seeking for answers from legit source is super important to form our opinion. Its okay to doubt and it also okay to change your mind, but do it not because somebody shows or tell you, but do it because after consideration and researches, that is what you will feel better with.

Peace to all! Thanks for this video and all who left comments not only because I have daughters but for me as a Muslim man. This video have shown flaws in myself as a Muslim Male. The last part of this video, starting at 45:43 to the end, may answer all questions. Allah vs one's own heart. Which is right. We can argue this but remember selfishness is the ultimate way in anything we as humans can do. To put one's self last is probably the hardest thought,action and spiritual task of any human experience. So, to help all Muslim and non-muslims to understand, to give one's self completely(in public/when no one is around)is the ultimate way to show love,belief,trust,honor,respect,fear...ect.....towards anything or anybody. But as a Muslim we should do all things for Allah and Allah only. It free you from all things including oneself. Thank to all, as I walk down a path of selfishness and also down a path of showing The creator that I am trying to please The Most Merciful through putting my heart on the back burner and placing Allah first. What can tell tell you.... *Pleasing one's self is regular (Most do this) *Being selfishness is rare (Most do not) *Following one's heart is easy (Because your belong to oneself) *Following Allah is a task (Has nothing to do with feeling good) Peace to all! P.S. If woman are nurture than by you wearing the hijab you are nurturing not just the Muslim men but the world. You give a women a different style of dress or give women another choice of fashion while making it fashionable. I thank all the sister that wear the hijab because it reminds me of who I am and what I am suppose to be doing. One of the reasons for this is, it is the one thing I can think of that is a visual of Al-Islam that is easy recognize no matter wear I go. That's big for me because I am not always around Muslims but when I see the hijab it is a reminder that that I need to become better at the deen and make it a full time thing because I know for a woman to deny herself especially when it comes to her hair it is hard thing. I am a man and a man is competitive, so thanks you for keeping me competing for the sake of Allah!

I will be lying if i said I was not tempted to take it off at some point. To me, I feel like when you're young and you wanna fit in to spaces like entertainment, night clubs, or even to be noticed, you will be heavily tempted to remove your scarf. There are talented actress/singers who have taken off their hijabs to get casted into roles, to win singing auditions etc. Some contracts even have clauses requiring you to remove your hijab :/ I have followed a bunch of hijabfluencers, and really honestly, especially when you're struggling with your own faith, it can be pretty damning if the person you looked up to removed their own. Don't even get me started about people wanting to remove their hijab to seem more palatable/attractive to non-Muslim men. Muslim men even. The only thing I learnt from this situations is that my reason cannot be rooted into the dunya, my heart will sink to what I can see in the dunya. I myself wanted to attract a non-Muslim man, but at what cost? A man who loves me will love me regardless. May Allah ease all our affairs.

It is important to note that Islam doesn't make hijab and `abayah are not any specific style or garment. It is not toxic to express that one disagrees with either style or morality. It's really simple actually those hijabi influencers know that they are responsible for what they cause young Muslim girls to do simple as that, you can always live life as you please but there are consequences for everything we do just like making a channel that you know thousands of young Muslims watch,comment and follow and you decide one day to remove the hijab without fearing and having a good heart to think of how young Muslims girls who watch you will feel, it's selfish would make sense to do it on your own behind closed doors or just wear the hijab in your videos for the sake of the young girls. These girls do it for follows and attention people don't see that? it's all about Attention seeking ladies who don't practice or understand islam but only use the name to identify themselves but do not follow the lifestyle.

It's because they want to imitate non-Muslims and feel more accepted by society. And they want to pursue things they know are looked down upon in Islam/haram but feel guilty while also wearing hijab. The conflict is tough and wearing hijab isn't easy I know that much but to do it on social media in front of thousands of people is what is most shocking. Think of all the young hijabis they have misled and have made question their hijab (including myself), do they not fear Allah???

So many of our Muslim youth, and even more mature Muslim women follow these influencers because of the fact they wear hijab. They are looking for someone to be able to look up to perhaps because of their own struggles or maybe because of a sense of pride that says, “ Look! These women are popularizing hijab and making it socially normal and comfortable”. It is also a matter of this need to show the world that Muslim girls/women can live a full life with Hijab, and not be hindered by it while earning an income as well. But it’s a slippery slope. On one hand, hijabi influencers are role models to so many and on the other hand, they can reach a population that is marketable for an industry that is historically known to exploit women by defining what female beauty is according to Western standards and capitalizing from that through these influencers and we’re all none the wiser. We need more influencers who are willing to teach young women about what makes a woman beautiful in Islam, but interestingly enough, these young viewers don’t want to be influenced by that and those videos don’t get as much attention as say, a hijabi doing a make-up tutorial or talking about the skin care products she uses in her nightly routines. It seems like influencers and their followers are searching to find ways to “accept” this elephant on our head in western society and that is the fundamental problem as I see it.

It is important who one takes as an idol and to find out whether she corresponds to the idol of islam or not.
