Doctor, un gusto saludarlo desde Colombia, tengo una duda grande,mi madre tiene 70 años y hace un año fue diagnosticada con Parkinson y en este momento esta con tratamiento de levodopa 3 veces al día, pero cada día esta peor me refiero al malestar que le da,queremos hacer tratamiento con medicina alternativa pero el neurólogo dice que no se puede suspender el tratamiento,Doctor le agradezco si me contesta, mil gracias.

I was diagnosed with SVD about 10 years ago. I have recently noticed that I am much slower in moving, my memory is being affected, my balance is off and I can't lift my left leg like I should when I walk. It is stiff and mildly drags....I can't seem to lift my toes on my left foot. I hope this doesn't mean I will need to go into a facility soon. 🥺 ADD: I also have SLE, am prediabetic and have moderately high blood pressure, but my doctor doesn't think I need any further eval or treatment. This makes me MAD! I do exercise regularly, but not vigorously. When I was diagnosed with SVD, I went in because I was having chest pain and they saw part of my heart had died. They did an Atherectomy thinking I had blocked arteries, which caused a blockage to my hear, butmy large arteries were fine. That's when I was diagnosed with SMV and IHD.

A mi papá el neurólogo le diagnosticó parkinsonismo y ordenó levodopa- carbidopa esta pastilla lo pone mas rígido y empieza a decir cosas incoherentes...!😢 Hoy voy a empezar a darle NEUROcaps...con base en mucuna pruriens, ashwaganda, centella asiática, uña de gato, ginkgo y regaliz... ya veremos si le sirve.

Is there a different type of Dopamine Agonist recommended with Parkinson’s Plus?? My father who a certain type of Parkinson’s Plus - is having terrible reactions to Carbodopa/ Levidopa.. hallucinations, severe constipation- but without it lacks dopamine and not getting out of bed the same.. So needing something else as a Dopamine Agonist that doesn’t cause the horrific REM disturbed sleep issues and more.. Any recommendations are appreciated 🙏🏽

Need help finding a “Dopamine Agonist” that doesn’t have the side effects like C/L. What else is out there to stimulate Dopamine - without the mania, constipation and nightmares? Mucuna and B1 ( maybe not taking enough) don’t seem to be doing enough and the C/L causes other awful, debilitating ( nightmares, etc) side effects in my HWP.. But w/o the Dopamine Agonist, they aren’t as active and not wanting to do as much.. Anyone have experience w / Selegiline? Doing Mucuna, L-Dopa, L- Theanine and B1- but not making a dent yet. Am I not giving right iteration or dosage? Thanks in advance🙏🏽

Thank you fot all the information. I suffer with severe RLS. During the day and evening. Gabapentin hasn’t worked and I have been on Ropinirole it’s not as effective. Not many Physicians understand this disorder and how to treat it. Very frustrating.

The only bad thing about the skin test is you can have PD but still test negative if you're one of the very rare people who have the type of PD that is caused by something other than misfolded a-synuclein. But if the skin test is positive you know you have neurodegenerative disease. Everyone with suspected REM sleep disorder should get this skin test too so they can plan their life since it means they will most likely be diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease within fifteen years.

You dont know what causes Tardive Dyskinesia???? How hard is that to figure out its VERY common with drugs that block dopamine..... people with parkinsons twitch because of dopamine dieing in the cell. People with Tardive Dyskinesia twitch..... its obious its a malfunction of dopamine. Same with SSRI's that has caused some serious neurlogical issues in some people and you might say well those only effect serotonin how can that be the cause of your twitching well because serotonin and dopamine balance each other whenever you create more activity or pool more serotonin around you drop dopamine and vice versa they balance each other......All these videos of "know one really knows the cause" is such a joke. Low dopamine seems to cause tremors but also if you give someone meth and a bunch of coke or speed they can get tremors and over activation.... its obvious the communication between dopamine is disrupted
