I've been had eczema on my palms and fingers for the past 4 years now. My dermatologist have prescribed series of steroids for me I.e diprosalic ointment and now tacrolimus protopic. They aren't working and I'm so tired. What do I do pls?
@dfleeezy127815 күн бұрын
hydrocortisone cream would definitely help control your flare ups and repair the skin better than steroid cream. Look at your local CVS or pharmacy that has over the counter creams you can get without seeing a doctor. I am currently dealing with the same issues on my hands and I'm doing tons of research to find answers.

Thank you. Personal skin chemistries are, it seems to me, myriad. For example, E45 Anti Itch cream actually exacerbated my eczema massively - and I mean massively. I was shocked at how aggressive and drying it was. E45 regular cream dries out my skin too. All of this is counterintuitive I know. So far, the best, most calming emollients I've discovered are those based around shea butter, in combination with aloe vera, jojoba, coconut, vitamin E and sweet almond oils. Essential oils can be irritants for my skin type too, so YMMV. Experimenting with these natural ingredients in different combinations allows one gently to narrow down the most effective formulas according to personal skin-type. There's no single "cure", as you said.

Since you attended a Caribbean medical school and the curriculum is modelled after US medical school. Did you get to take it as well. Also, why did you choose to practice in the UK instead of the USA since you attended a Caribbean medical school and most likely had taken the STEPs

Honestly, I cannot fathom why a person studiees dermatology as a specialism for so long only to follow the same old conventional nonsense. The only thing I believe that was useful is the vaseline which is great for the dryness tbat excema brings to the skin. Drinking lots of water also helps to hydrate tbe skin, dare I mention something as natural as water. was 4ft nothing at age 15 because betnovate stunted my growth and my excema was still severe. It was only until i lived in Jamaica from age 15 that I grew to an average height of 5ft 8. I am in my late 50's and my skin is now addicted to steroids just going back snd forth. I am now looking at my foods and herbal vures.

I was kicked out of an American medical school in 2009 too..My girlfriend of 3 years broke up with me 1 week later...Talk about hell, I went through it. That was the darkest time of my life...a failed relationship and being kicked out of medical school. I took a two year break and reapplied to a Carribean Medical school. Today I am an MD and currently preparing for my USMLE board exam. Dont give up on your dream guys, ...delay is not denial.. I am so sorry about your dad...YOu are definitely stronger than me because I dont know what I would have done if I dont have my dad...my dad was hurt too when I got kicked out but he stood by me....I love my dad so much and my life revolves around him...Gotta love Nigerian parents!
