We often overlook another use of battery swap technology. NIO should design a special swap truck that carries 4 or 5 batteries. If someone has a problem in a remote area, the truck can drive there and swap the car battery on the spot. This shows how battery swap technology can make things easier

Super video! There are so many advantages with battery swap! The current swap stations are only the beginning, I'm there will be big developments in them, such as: - multiple drive-throughs, speeds up the process further as no reversing back phase - larger battery stacks, more choices in battery sizes, incentives to keep the bigger, heavier batteries more often in the swap station as most users don't always need the max capacity, leading to lighter more energy efficient cars, difference especially big in city driving leading to huge systematic energy savings, better performance etc

Nicely put thanks. Also let’s not forget that in China and maybe later all over the world you will need to check the batteries annually to make sure they are safe and reliable. Battery swapping will come handy to do just that. Also as batteries technology gets better all you need to do is get the new better batteries at the station. So you not stock with your old battery for 8 years.

Large battery manufacturers can mitigate the need for battery swap by installing battery banks where the level three chargers are located. This way level three charging can be done without effecting the grid and they can replenish in off peak energy in the same way as battery swap. I have as many shares in NIO as you, so I wish this alternative did not exist, but it does. Elon has always maintained he would come back to his SC network and install solar, and battery banks someday.

That Electric Viking youtuber guy must be on the payroll of Xpeng and BYD etc. He always talks up their cars etc and talks down NIO about any positive news about NIO. He just talked about the Firefly being too expensive and nobody cares about the battery swapping feature. Here you go, it comes from the backing of the government.

Good talk! For sure there will be a race. Now that battery swapping is being established, can you talk about ev batteries standardization? The Chinese government will obviously be talking to batteries and EV manufacturers. Will NIO's ev batteries become the industry standards or will the elephant in the room BYD dominate battery sizes standardization?

I dunno guys, I’m seeing classic signs of Stockholm Syndrome in these posts lately 😔. Understandable because we literally feel trapped until the company finally makes-good on its potential. Please don’t think this is in bad faith as I had >30K shares at one point. I just now feel that battery swap may not be the only possible future as solid-state batteries are becoming a reality, and I believe that Bitcoin is more likely to 10x in the next 5 years than Neo. I still hold shares as you never know, but let’s not kid ourselves. BYD won.

Personally, I think that the persistence of the stock in the 4 dollar area combined with the fact that Goldman Sachs has renewed the sell on the stock at 3.50 given that Goldman Sachs also deals with acquisitions and mergers of companies is a precursor to an acquisition of Nio by another company.

All those partnership doesn’t mean anything, maybe it means Nio is desperate to look for partnerships to create additional revenue. Look at Tesla and BYD , they don’t have partnerships , they operate on their own strength
